would stepping down the 7.5 mg to lower and lower mg be helpful in reducing this side effect?

I’d like to know too. I’m at 7.5mg since 2021 when I did a self-taper from 10mg. I don’t have psychosis and hope it doesn’t happen. I won’t take anti-psychotic meds.

Yes, generally the lower the dose the less mental side effects. But it’s really tricky because going “cold turkey” can also cause its own kind of mental symptoms. So work closely with your doctor no matter what you do.
