She sure is, brother D. I was also raised in a violent home. Later I became an addict. In the bright joy of recovery, I found that the power of God could heal me wonderfully with time and the gospel, the Steps, the program, and prayer. God bless you, brother!
😭🖤 I have been lost and inactive for years. 20 years and I am so thankful that our Heavenly Father never left me, Ive felt his Spirit everyday for the past 2 weeks and I am just so thankful that I found this video.
Darla, you turned your dark days around to be a light to others. We love your husband, Nik Day. He uses his writing & musical talents to bless so many people inside the Church and outside the Church. My husband and I listen to his songs often. Many of those songs helped me through the darkest days of my life. I was the one, too. I had put many of my dark times behind me before I joined the Church in 1997, but the over-shopping, overly serving others, collecting things, and poor financial decisions all got worse over time. I became addicted to social media, especially FB. I slowly, over time lost my way. I had that moment where I was given a choice between light and dark. My Ebeneezer Scrooge type moment. That happened last March 2021. My mighty change of heart.
I loved your fireside in Idaho Falls as part of the homeschool conference. When I told my missionary daughter about it, she said she knew your story. She had watched you in the Hope Works series. She remembered your story all these years later! Thank you for sharing your story. It’s powerful!
Awesome story! Right now in my life I feel more broken than I've ever felt, because of major depression and anxiety, but I know that my Redeemer lives, & loves us! Through his loving grace, I can have my sins taken away, and eventually I can have my depression, and anxiety permanently taken away, which I'm really looking forward to! God bless those struggling with mental or physical difficulties!
Well, you must be pretty special to have found such a talented husband. I love his music! Great story and your story could be anyone's story. I have been there. That was a great talk. Thank you!
I just love this girl's passion and zest, I have written the points that resonated with me in my journal. I especially love 'And show them the fire that is rising inside of them' oh you go girl! mother, aerialist, wife and LDS woman - Girl you on fire. Love from Auckland, NZ :)
I needed- this so much- right this very minute even- and I am just amazed as always at the tender mercies that our Father gives us. He loves us with a very personal love- but only if we ask - this message was so incredibly perfect for me- even down to the parts about rising up like a Phoenix.... my personal motto mantra favorite quote whatecer you call it lol- is from Elder Uchtdorf - Rise up and be who God has called you to be. Thank you for being strong and willing to share this message!
Wow this was powerful and sooooo relatable I gotta start sharing my story as I am on the path of change myself an wanting to give back an make a difference in my community baby steps ♡
Thank you for sharing your story! Prayers are powerful. And we all are children of God. We can change better than the past through Christ. You are amazing, esp. you prayed, listened and chose God. Keep up your great work!
I can relate to Darla's story in many ways, except my vices became addiction to service, shopping, collecting things, and at times (before I joined the Church (sex trying to fill the void of lack of love from childhood on up), food at times, and spent many years addicted to being in victim mode.
Thank you for hearing your testimony.hope on god gives prolongation of life.so it is always better to put hope on god instead of stone or a tree which were created by god .it is always better to trust on god and hope on god.plz.pray for me.thank you.

good to help others...thanks...choose and seek.....I was the black sheep too, born a Jew and taught to reject Jesus. I was ok even though I was suicidal not wanting to live and having everything I wished for... lol I was ok, till I stopped rejecting Him and came to His forgiveness and personal friendship, My family sent me to my Yiddish grandma's so she could have me thrown out of my dear family as the bad sheep. But instead, I lead her to Yeshua/Jesus reading Isaiah 53. My Uncle told me we will never forgive you for what you did to our mother. her love was worth it all.

We don't think we're better. Just more complete. If you really want to know why, click that link below. If you really don't care, then don't. But ya oughta at least check it out.
So many different versions of the truth which makes me question exactly why I don't want to live in a way all of us have a different relationship with religion the crates lies deception this is not of God Jesus we argue between each other about who's right who's wrong we all Walk In the Flesh we all desire it I walk with the spirit in Jesus name I walked alone all my life suffered a loneliness believe me I know who Jesus is and it doesn't come from churches
Church is just an organization that tries to teach others about Christ, the life he lived, the love he has for us, To truly understand the nature of God you have to study what he taught. church is just a medium between us & God. Church taught me about prayer and how to grow my faith. society sees church as organized religion that tries to brainwash or give people a bunch of rules about what they should & should not do. but when Christ was on the earth he established his church as a way to connect others to him and to learn of him knowing he would not always be by our side. don't define church by the people who attend church. define church by what is being taught and if it matches up with what Christ taught. and you align yourself with that truth. you will receive divine help and your light & happiness will increase. and you will discover power! the Lord's power and he will guide you and help you prosper in every area of your life.
Hi there, thanks for the opportunity to clarify our beliefs. Mormons or LDS Church members, properly referred to as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, are Christian. We believe Jesus Christ is our Savior, we revere the Bible as the word of God, and we believe the Book of Mormon to be another testament of Jesus Christ. You or others interested can learn more about our beliefs here: www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/gospel-topics/are-mormons-christian?lang=eng
we judge what we don't understand. it hard to get past our own biases and labels and personal perceptions. We all have them when I learned to challenge my own thinking and started relying on God for wisdom and insight. That's when I learned to replace doubt with knowledge & confidence. before you decide what to cast aside or what is worthy of your attention ask God what his thoughts are on the matter.
My wife is amazing!
You're amazing! I cannot tell you how much the Youth songs have helped me.

The way she said "you're free to choose; liberty, or death..." *amazing*. I definitely felt the truth and power of that statement.
I'm pretty sure it's sourced from 2 Nephi 2:27.
@@samuels7228 What's relevant is that it came to her when she needed it.

Nate, I'm a teacher I think you just got the award for the longest run-on sentence ever. No idea what you said but that's one heck of a sentence.
