My neurologist said Alzheimer's starts with dementia and ends in Parkinson's-like symptoms, whereas Parkinson's starts with tremors and usually ends in dementia. Research into Lewy Body dementia for example, helps both. So it's fine!
@@Terrainosaur I was about to say exactly that. I had just gotten done typing up a huge wall of text correcting Eric when I noticed he had already made the correction.
I live in central Europe, there is 13th century castle-fortress on a dormant volcano about 7km from the city I live in. EVERY single village has it´s own heraldry and story that goes with it. I live in Pardubice, it´s heraldry is front half of the white horse on red field. Story goes when nobility was fleeing the city, the last one was riding on a white horse and the horse was cut in half by falling city gate. I come originaly from small village which has diagonaly cut heraldry, with wolf´s head in red field and a stork on a blue field, signifying the fact that the village was set up in the middle of the woods and was about keeping ponds and lakes with fish to supply the city. love the Brets army!
If you get nostalgic about packaging again, I've found that a little clean up with a razor (such as cutting out the logos) turns them into nice labels for storage boxes for the figures. That way they fulfill that nostalgia and serve a purpose, instead of just sitting around collecting dust and taking up space.
Eric I think this might be one of your best videos yet! Your passion for the subject matter, as well as the way you explained it and made it entertaining, it was all just really well done! Fantastic work!
"A Tale of Four Gamers" were always some of my favourite articles in White Dwarf years ago. I like to see people's armies grow and develop gradually over time, and I'm looking forward to seeing your future videos on this project.
@@kenjutsukata1o1, yes. It's going to be set I believe a few hundred years before the last one was set. They already talked about it a bit last year, but all of their releases are delayed from the shutdowns. It may come out next year. They did show a map, and Kislev and Cathay were on it. The new Total War: Warhammer 3 looks to be focused on those factions as well.
The Rule of Cool indeed, the only code ever needed! Seriously, excellent work on the minis, individual color and design schemes per knight is the best way to paint Bretonnians! It's hard work, but so worth the effort 😎 For the Lady!!!
This is awesome, so great when Brets get some love after GW did them dirty. I tried to have families in my Bret army where the knight errants were sons of Knight of the Realm. Love the work you have done on these guys.
Great video Eric! I'm really glad to see you pursuing a passion project, too many people are slaves to the almighty algorithm and you can see it wear on their creativity. I loved the tunic and cowl, and really enjoyed the history, and I knew you were going to say The Rule of Cool. Thanks for the great videos brother!
Bretonnia was my first army. I am so excited about this. I hope after you're done we get to see some table top battles with them. Can't wait for the next video
Thanks to these Bretonnian videos I've finally begun collecting them! I was always a LOTR and 40k modeller but had a real soft spot for the Bretonnian aesthetic (because how can't you!) 😅 so, thanks man, I'm having a blast with them! We definitely need more of this from you!
Gotta say that Michael Perry is a god damn badass. Lost his right hand loading a reproduction Cannon, taught himself how to paint and sculpt using his left hand. If people want good historical miniatures for conversion purposes, highly recommend the Perry Miniatures stuff.
Really beautiful work. Bretonnians were the first army I had way back when I just got introduced to Warhammer back in the 5th edition. I really love the classic look of the hand sculpts and clear poses, I know some people find them monopose or static but I love them, they're so clear and readable.
Thank you so much! This is so cool! I'm a collector of old Skaven and Wood Elves myself. I would love to see a more detailed breakdown of the models in your Bretonnian army, telling us the paint job choices and which model from which edition etc. There are some awesome miniatures in there but they're skipped over so quickly in the vid! Well done, the army looks awesome.
Eric - thank you so much for this video as well as your two videos on the old school warhammer jousting. I was just about burnt out from the hobby due to too much 40k, but this trio of videos has really rekindled my fascination with not only the hobby, but with this wonderful Arthurian time period as well! I've already started making fences and towers out of popsicle sticks and coffee stirrers
Great video as always, Eric! Love the Bretonnians! Just finished 3D printing my first 15mm scale Bretonnians myself for some half sized Warhammer Fantasy. I hate to be *that guy*, but Terrainosaur's charity is actually the Michael J Fox Foundation, which is doing research on Parkinson's, not Alzheimer's.
Man; this just popped up as I subscribe to Dana Howl and I recently watched the first Tale of 6 Warlords.... and it SPEAKS to me. I used to spent hours staring at the Bretonnia figures in blister packs and the little two packs of knights in GW back in the day and I really wanted to collect them. I ended up with Undead as my WFB army, but wanted to do these when I got back into the hobby and found they didnt exist anymore lol. Great video - subbed!
This was probably the most entertaining warhammer related video I have ever seen! The sets and miniatures were amazing and watching the tournament play out with a voice over explaining the rules in a straightforward way made it that much better. Amazing work - Subscribed!
I remember these Bretonnians always looking badass in the old issues of White Dwarf, don't remember ever buying any but feel like I should check some of my miscellaneous boxes now. Great work on the paint jobs!
Probably one of the most ore inspiring tabletop forces when painted up like that, a real feast for the eyes and very intimidating to behold if you're the opposition to it 👍
Fantastic video, I went in expecting one of those building and painting time-lapse videos with commentary over them, but instead, you went into some of the history which made it a very good watch! I subbed and hope to see more of your videos in the future. Also nice army!
Great video, and what a beautiful paintjob on these classic minis ! By the way, French viewer here, "Gueules" is actually still a word used in French. It means "maw", or any animal's mouth for that matter, including human ones in vulgar or familiar interjections. You got the etymology right though, and the way you pronounce it sounds just like the old folks in some parts the french Breton countryside say it ("Goule") which is accidentally pretty appropriate for your army. Cheers !
It wasn’t a total accident! Im aware that Norman french didn’t sound like modern french, and when the English have been using a word for hundreds of years, all bets are off!
took me a minute or two to get over my burning jealousy, but those Bretonnians are in great hands! magnificent work bringing them back to life so beautifully!
when I was a little kid I saw the Bretonnians come out & felt utterly intimidated to even go near them this was very inspiring!! the freehand work looks amazing
One of the first White Dwarfs I ever bought was when Bretonnians came out for 6th. Edition. I didn't play Fantasy at the time, but man did I love reading the battle reports in that issue. The guy showing off the new Bretonnians forgot to roll for The Green Knight in the first game and lost because he had 275 points and a lord choice just sitting around off the table rofl
My uncle gave me the a 1000 point army when I turned 8... I was brave enough to open the box for the second time when I turned 13 and for the 3rd time when I was 18.. then I finally decided to pick up the hobby xD
I used to play bretonia but fell out of it for the exact reasons you raised. They are so scarce and exceedingly expenive. Even when i was buying them from my local Games Workshop there was only ever the starter box and maybe a box men at arms or archers available if you didnt use the little computer they kept by the counter to order in the metal figs. Really loved watching your video and excited to see Bretonia get some more love from you. Looking forward to more from our 6 Warlords.
