Nice video, thanks. Doing the fuel filter would help many people. The electric disconnect is NOT where the operator's manual says it is. It's on the left side under the seat - two wires, blue and black and the obvious part is the wires come off the top of the gas tank, connected to the fuel pump. The connector comes apart easily. Getting the filter off the frame is also a little tricky. I laid on the ground under the filter, put a screw driver between the filter and the frame to gently pry the little black pin off the frame. It can be reused. The top pin you can push out a little thru a hole in frame, or again pry gently from the top with a screwdriver, and slide the filter down away from pin. The clips are hard to do. You push IN on the black tab on the clips. It helps to remove the dipstick to make room for your hand. The clips don't move much, they don't snap or make a sound, they just can be pushed in a little. As you hold them in, you can wiggle the hose, either end of the filter, off the filter. People say they break easily - the part number is M155197, less than a dollar at a dealer.
Nice easy approach to a review of basics. I’m picking up my first John Deere 2014 825 I wanna couple of days after service at the dealer. But I’ll be doing my own service in the future. Might look into how to replace your starter
Thanks. Replacing the starter requires tearing half the engine compartment apart- more work than I have time for lol Deere did not make that an easy fix!
@@dehavenfamilyfarm it’s actually not that bad. Maybe an hour and a half tops to replace. I’ve done 2. Just have to remove the drive belt housing and a coolant line. Removing the belt housing is a good time anyways to inspect the belt and clutches . replaced both of mine with $60 ebay starters and so far so good.
Thanks for the video. It was very informative. May I suggest you used some compressed air to blow off the dust and dirt before opening your engine to dust and dirt. :)
I have an 825i and I’m not impressed with how the engine air filter seats in the canister. I put a little grease on the end of it to help it seat better, but otherwise I think dirt gets past that seal??
We would still buy the gator because we like it the most out of the few brands that build utvs with 2 rows of seats. We got our first gator back in 1996 and wish I still had it. It was built better than today's stuff!
THank you for the reply. I have a 2011 825i that I got last week that only has 80 hours and 750 miles. It has a roaring noise coming from the front end and this seems to be a common problem according to some research. I spoke to my local JD dealer and one of their techs worked on one previously with the same issue and they advised to grease the fittings at the driveline. I am not getting the noise if the unit is rolling in neutral. The fitting looks slightly bigger that the fitting on my grease gun. I will call them back in the morning to see exactly what size it is and I may have to getter a larger female end on my gun to match the size. Fingers crossed......

Thank you! Knowing where the grease fittings are was a big help to me.

I want to change my fuel filter, noticed it's fixed to the side frame. How do I get it off?
Would you buy another gator or go a different brand if you had to do it over again?

That's a nice ride man! Heck, I'd be happy to even have a quad! Lol
Thanks, it is very handy to have around!
That's a very nice well kept gator
Thank you!
Ya it looks like those gatoers do have starter problems. Mine is on the 3rd or 4th too
I'm glad ours isn't the only one. Thanks for watching!
what kind of oil did you use
Go to harbor freight and buy funnels. Comes in a set of 5 I believe.
What size are the 2 grease fittings for the drive line?
I am not sure what size the grease zerk is, but I was able to grease them with a standard grease gun end.
