From someone who’s done the oil cooler seals... PAIN IN THE BALLS!! But once done... no more oil issues. ID parts has the full kit with seals, rings, bolts and gaskets!
I concur. Did mine about a year ago or so and it was pretty straight forward. Just took a long time. Tuned and deleted it at the same time. Runs great. No more leaky nonsense.
I had leaking oil coolers seals on my Jeep at 194,000 miles. While the turbo was off, I installed a rebuilt one! IDParts oil cooler seal kit was awesome, and the turbo install kit was a time saver as well!
My turbo sucked oil in to the exhaust after Diesel Cooler leak repair and swirl flaps cleaned. Waiting for new turbo now . 2k and who know how much more
I had my intake manifolds replaced after one of the plastic rods of the flaps broke and it was putting the car in limp mode occasionally. The new oem manifolds came in a pack with a new oilcooler and upgraded seals. No problems so far, I'm glad I got them changed. I was lucky enough until that point (325k km) to not have any oil leaks or any kind. I'm glad I got it changed now that I read the comments on here. It wasn't cheap, its a complicated job with lots of work hours. Don't buy a new turbo, get a reconditioned/rebuilt one at 1/4 the cost (done by a renowned rebuilder). They're as good as new if done right.
1-2hours when removing turbo. But how many hours to do the rest ? I don't think it's a typical 'while you in there' kind of job. It's like 50 more bolts to remove, draining coolant or even the oil etc. If it's dry down there, I would leave it...
