I bet the snowmobilers in the area were probably wondering who was cutting trees at that time of year, cause I bet there aren't too many 2-stroke snow-bikes out there!
It's quick. Super quick to generate track speed. It shines in steep technical ground. You have to ride it like a two stroke needs to be ridden. Elbows out, two fingers on the clutch and aggressive. Ridden that way, it is super fast in the trees. Very fun. We will be posting a lot of new footage this season.
Yes. The "monster " was fun, but the modded 300 is the most fun. :) nearly the same hp. We are getting 60hp from the 300. A stock 500 is close to that. The 300 is super light and quick. Very fun
Ya, it was over the top fun! 2' of pow, setting sun, spacing in the trees,... The 300 is amazing fun on the snow. Building a super trick one now for next season. :)
Is it a kit you buy for a motocross bike I would change out the front ski to be about 4 inches wider than your back track this way it pads the snow for the track and put a 2 inch paddle on the bottom of it like a rudder the length of the ski for side slip you would see the performance would greatly increase...
hey man looking to buy a snow bike was wondering if you can tell me how it does in deep snow? been watching a lot of videos and seems they do really well in deep powder snow seems even better than sleds. what do you think
Are you running the stock Air Filter setup? Also does it have the TSS, if so what do you think of it? What are your thoughts on the SX120 Track being narrower, would it work even better?
You still have gears. However, you can buy a REKLUSE Clutch, which is a centrifugal clutch. The rekuse will make it so you can sit in gear with the clutch out - like an automatic car. The difference is you will now have to shift when you get through first gear - you don't need to use the clutch if you don't want, but I recommend using when shifting.
Very cool bike! What type of mods have you done to get nearly 60hp and is it still on pump premium? I am really a 2 stroke guy and what you have done with this makes me think the 300 would be a lot more fun for me than a 450. Thanks!
Yes, pump gas. Eric Gorr, Forward Motion, porting and Head, Pro Circuit Platinum - 2 pipe and Pro Circuit 304 Factory silencer, 250 SX CDI Box, Red Power Valve spring and 40MM Billet Smart Carb. Great engine.
I tried to go through all comments to see if you said it but do you have an avid thermostat to keep it from overcooling on that or just carb heat? Engine Jacket of some sort?
Thank you, I'm running a lectron carb on a 15 300 xc. thinking about doing an rk tek head to give it more spunk. What is your recommendation? also, are you just wrapping the pipe to help keep it warm or is the stat doing it well enough? any sort of jacket your running on the motor? The 4 strokes have those jackets but do you recommend one or think it is needed?
Thx for the video I find it amazing what Timbersleds can do in the snow. Can you tell me what size of track your riding on that bike. I am also very interested in what was modified on the bike as well. I'm thinking about running my Husaburg TE300 with a Timbersled kit. Appreciate all feedback. Thanks, Chad
The entire build thread is on snowest.com in the forums under snow bikes. KTM 300 Build thread. The TE300 would be exactly the same. You will have a blast! The track is a 121 and the engine is the 300SX mod.
Go to Timbersled.com I can't believe you haven't seen them everywhere? world wide revolution the last 6 years. 10" wide ski and a convex 2.5 paddle track.
MaineMotoMen I would recommend a 250cc. The 125 might be a little tough to keep in the power. However, if you were riding packed trails, etc. The 125 with a short track might be real fun? You can get the Timbersled ST model and try it. If it isn't enough for you, all you need is a new "fit kit" for any other bike you choose. You aren't out anything buying the ST model.
Haaha. we hear that a lot. Then when they try to follow us, they soon find themselves left behind. It's not about the 80 mph speed. It's about fast, consistent, never stopping , lines in the steepest nastiest terrain. That is what makes the snowbike amazing. The invitation is always open. Cone for a back country ride with us. If you can hang with our group on your sled, I will pay all your expenses for the trip. :)
Randy Siemens Running a '96 XLT Limited, ported heads, big bore kit, etc etc. 144 track, walker Evans shocks. Long story short, it's putting 148hp too the ground. I figure at least 165 maybe 170 at the crank. Has yet to let me down in the mountains of Pennsylvania, in 5 feet of powder.
2 stroke for life. makes me wanna buy one minus the 6000$ price tag
Hey Man 2 Strokes for ever ! ! !
I bet the snowmobilers in the area were probably wondering who was cutting trees at that time of year, cause I bet there aren't too many 2-stroke snow-bikes out there!
Plenty of 2 stroke sleds. 2 strokes still rule the snowmobile world. If you hear a 4 stroke in the winter we all assume snowbike.
This is fantastic ! Tell us all more about riding a 2 Stroke bike in the snow ! ! !

Randy Siemens If you had a 250 2 Stroke , would that be enough juice to power that big track drive unit and still enough power left for for fun ?
Yes. The track doesn't use near what you think. A 250 spins it hard and very fun.
Yes, the ST is the best all around kit for the 300.
doood awesome video, kinda really want to get the conversion kit for my 250 now
I will be posting some vid of the modded 330 with an ST kit. It is a super fun bike. 60 hp.
Yes on the Carb Heat and Yes, I like it better than the KX500AF.
You like this better than A KX 500 ? Tell me more ....
Yes. The "monster " was fun, but the modded 300 is the most fun. :) nearly the same hp. We are getting 60hp from the 300. A stock 500 is close to that. The 300 is super light and quick. Very fun
Randy Siemens 60 hp from a 300cc? Tell me more. Sounds super peaky and unreliable.
***** 250 have like 55 ? So 5 hp wouldnt be so hard
+stoffe poffe 60hp at sea level up there???> 40hp if that?
It depends . The ST is faster and more versatile. The LT works very well with it also. A lot of flotation.
Totally awesome !!!!!!!!!
cool video bro... nothing like riding when theres just right amount of powder and the suns poking out here and there through the trees
Ya, it was over the top fun! 2' of pow, setting sun, spacing in the trees,...
The 300 is amazing fun on the snow. Building a super trick one now for next season. :)
Randy Siemens is that the LT version?
It is the ST.
I want one, but I live in Cali and there is no snow at all, or rain for that matter
Amazing i want one
You think that is the perfect kit for the 300
nice front fender!
+clayton carroll
Thanks, It's an Acerbis super-moto in white. Turned out nice.
too bad we never got to see how fast it was
Awesome bike how long is the track?
Great Video Randy but why did you disgrace the KTM with a Honda front fender?
lol ! :) It's not a Honda fender. Ha!, That is a universal aftermarket fender in white.

Do you like the 300 better then the kx 500 you were riding in the other video?
Awesome video! Are these single geared or do they have a transmission like dirt bikes?
It's a dirt bike whit a ski/belt kit on! :P

Yes, this is a regular Motorcycle. The Rekluse Clutch mentioned is a very nice option.

Randy Siemens Thanks! I am sort of surprised it is using a 40mm smart carb and not the 38. Are you able to pull 3rd and 4th in the trees like a 450?
powpirate yes
Randy did it have a 12 or 13 tooth sprocket on the front ? Thanks
You think that's the best kit for the 300?
nice powder!
I tried to go through all comments to see if you said it but do you have an avid thermostat to keep it from overcooling on that or just carb heat? Engine Jacket of some sort?
Yes, Avid stat , and carb heater both. Worked awesome and trouble free.
Thank you, I'm running a lectron carb on a 15 300 xc. thinking about doing an rk tek head to give it more spunk. What graphics kit is that on your bike?
North West Montana.
Hey man I,m from Toronto Ontario . You have to get out of our city to get that kind of snow. Whats it like in our area ?
Deep!
13 /16 then 17/18
+Randy Siemens Thanks !
Go to Timbersled.com I can't believe you haven't seen them everywhere? world wide revolution the last 6 years. 10" wide ski and a convex 2.5 paddle track.
Are you using a carb heater on the Smart Carb? Thx
Yes
Who the hell puts on their goggles before their gloves in the winter. Jk to each their own. Nice setup.
Where is this?
any overcooling issues? or carb freezing?
ketchikanstuff We have a carb heater. Zero issues. The 2 stroke doesn't need to be 190F like a four stroke.
120 or 137?
They don't make a 300 sx
please read. its a 300xc with a sx head in other words its a 300sx
would this work on a 2002 yz125?
MaineMotoMen I would recommend a 250cc. The 125 might be a little tough to keep in the power. However, if you were riding packed trails, etc. The 125 with a short track might be real fun? would this work on a 85cc bike?
doubtful
timbersled now makes a ripper kit for smaller bikes
what kinda boots do u wear?
Moto boots. I am trying an insulated, waterproof enduro boot this year.
Randy Siemens I think there is a boot for you from a company called "Malcom Smith" they are California based .
Can these things track stand very well?? (wheelie)
brian burriss Topping a climb they will. Too long on flat ground.
Still slow as shit in the snow. Got nothing on snowmobiles.
Haaha. we hear that a lot. :)

didnt ask what you ride, just said come ride
Boring. 5 mph thru pines, Whoopee.

You think that is the perfect kit for the 300
