This is also why I can. Beef cubes, chicken chunks, chili with no beans, all ready to eat. I have 2 backups for cooking. A ceramic grill that easily fits a sterno can. It makes it more difficult to accidentally tip the sterno and holds a small pan better than the little fold up camp models. I also have a dual fuel burner since my apartment stove is electric. I open the patio door if either is needed and have my own smoke/carbon monoxide detector on the fridge. Went through a week of ice storms with no power for a week two years ago. Glad you didn’t see the worst of the hurricane.
When my kids were young we had a hurricane that knocked out power for a week. I was fortunate to have a double burner coleman stove that I could cook on. One simple recipe we all enjoyed was a slice of bread topped with a thick slice of cheese and I mean thick. Then I heated up a large can of stew and everyone got a large ladle of hot stew over the cheese and bread. It suprised my by how good it actually was.
Really great ideas. Everyone should have an emergency kit on hand. I prepared one a few years ago. Wishing all those affected by the hurricane, peace and safety.
I’ve been doing some thing a bit similar because the bottom of our house is being remodeled. So I am doing all my cooking in the garage and on the grill on the deck. It’s fun figuring out how to work around the lack of the usual kitchen appliances, access to running water, and tools, since I packed up a lot of stuff to empty out the kitchen.

Dennis, Dennis, Dennis how do you not know about Eden Organic Black Soy Beans - low carb beans that are great for chili and other dishes in which you like black beans. :)
@@BlackTieKitchen I understand completely. However, I only have used them in chili and cannot tell the difference. I am trapped between staying away from soy and trying to stay low carb. So far these beans have been my only exception to the no soy rule. I bet if I made you two chilis, one with regular black beans and one with these you would not be able to tell the difference. Let me know when your power is back on and I will come mess up your kitchen, LOL.
Downside is they come out of the can still pretty firm. Edible, but not really a good substitute for other canned beans without some cooking, in my opinion.
I’ve got to try these. Being a New Mexico boy, I am missing a lot of bean content. It’s too bad about the soy though, I might have to make the same exception.
It's literally impossible as of this time. There are some very talented bakers out there working on puff pastry and havent succeeded (All Day I Dream About Food and KetoUpgrade are a few)
You so fancy! I love making no heat nachos (requires pre prep by baking up some egg life and using as chips/nachos) with canned chili and canned refried beans (or not). Deli roll ups with egg life wraps, cream cheese and olives, and tuna (no mayo) are all my go to’s. And of course beer, lots and lots of beer. Because no one cares about the food if there is beer. 🌬 🌀 🍻 Stay safe!
When you introduced the jerky, I thought you said turkey and I thought, "He didn't want to open the fridge, so... he had turkey sitting out at room temp?" Glad to see later it was jerky instead. Given circumstances, it would have been good if this video came out a couple of days earlier, but it's really hard to plan around the weather sometimes.
Yeah - this was literally the fastest Ive ever made a video. When I was in the track of the direct hit, I took inventory of what I had - most everything was out at the stores. I recorded it, then spent the next day putting up boards and preparing for the storm - luckily it turned and Im not in the direct path anymore!

Dennis, Dennis, Dennis how do you not know about Eden Organic Black Soy Beans - low carb beans that are great for chili and other dishes in which you like black beans. :)
haha, I grew up eating black beans - it'd be sacrilegious to have Black Soy Beans instead 😂
Thank you!!! #TryingToSurviceThis❤️

Just wondering have you tried making a puff pastry with replacement flour? like Lupin or Almond
It's literally impossible as of this time. There are some very talented bakers out there working on puff pastry and havent succeeded (All Day I Dream About Food and KetoUpgrade are a few)
@@BlackTieKitchen I refuse to give up my dream... Guar Gum at the ready... Lupin Flour at my side...
The dream isnt dead! It's just in the works still 😂

Thanks!
And a great way to store beer: a toploading washing machine!
@@BlackTieKitchen whhuuuuttt?!?! 🤯 🤯 👍❤️🚨
Stay safe!!! Hope you have enough shelf stable stuff to get through. ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks! I have enough food... and body fat reserves to last a while lol
@@BlackTieKitchen naaah…you look great!
Where about are you in FL? I got wrecked in Cape
Im over in Tampa. Sorry to hear - you guys got smashed :(
be safe!
I got lucky where Im at!
Aw, and I just saw the Cholula hot sauce! Nice.
You ever get power back on bro, haven't seen any new videos in a long time. Hope you're alright.
Stay safe. I hope you brought Grogu inside.
He's holding up the windows as we speak!
@@BlackTieKitchen using the force, I hope.
BRAVO!! 👏👏👏 👏👏👏
