Finally, you found the right family to connect with, Michael. LUCKY you! ... Du-mar-aw and Ding-le = You walked into barangays that don't see too many foreign vloggers, plus your English is too "slang" for the locals, so they felt shy and a bit intimidated. But good thing, you persisted because you found that wonderful large family who were celebrating. All in all, a good vlog of a random day. 👍
Every time I listen to the friendly people engaging you, I realize I am stiing here with a big silly smile on my face. I was in the Phlipines once about 20 years ago for 3 weeks, I was amazed at the friendly people then. Glad to see that hasn't changed!
Great video you did a great job showing how friendly Filipino’s are. Walking around a small town not knowing anyone and left meeting new friends and you even had a meal.
This is a great video. Just crush in the gathering and everybody will welcome you. Good you take the offer to eat food otherwise they will be disappointed.
Thanks so much for sharing the small community life in the Philippines; boldly going where few other vloggers dare to go! The adventure is priceless and the intimacy that you bring with the interactions with the locals almost always forges an emotional connection that few others are able capture. Even (or maybe especially) so many of the awkward interactions with those who are shy for whatever reason. It's something that touches us because we can all identify with it.
Looks like you had a great day. It is nice to see how friendly most people are. It can be hard to communicate sometimes but for the most part I have been able to explain to the locals what I mean. And yes you always have to have something to eat.
I miss celebrating fiesta in my home town in Island Garden City of Samal,I miss those good times with my family,Eating with a lot of foods, drinking and un ending talking😅❤️
This video was spontaneous and joyful; you captured a great example of Philippine hospitality. I can tell God is with you; your good nature reaches out through the camera and plants smiles on your viewer's faces. 😊
Local people love to hear from you speaking a little local dialects, like when eat their food delicious means lami kaayo in bisaya or namit gid in ilongo masarap in tagalog
I live in the United States in New Jersey. People would NEVER invite a stranger into their homes and feed them! People in the Philippines are so GENUINE and kind. They put the people in New Jersey to shame!
People there are shy, try to visit President roxas capiz and visit our municipality our mayor there he's very accomodating, tourist like you is always welcome in capiz😊
really ...shy...especially the youngs...SPEAK SLOWLY 😕pinay subscriber here from Ontario. I love your vlog....browsing all places in Iloilo gives an Idea where is the best place to go. God bless your tour..Keep safe! always pray for protection. ❤❤❤
My father was born in Du-ma-rao Capiz but dont know much about that town. We grew up in Iloilo City. Maybe thats where they hid during WW2 because he was born in 1942. Ding-le meanwhile is already in Iloilo province.
Wow. Totally different vibe in this video. It didn't feel friendly. You were trying but having little success. Weird. Strange that a location change totally changed the vibe. Not sure how you ended up there. So many awkward moments. At 13:21 that girl was giving you serious eye. Really enjoyed the family party. That was the best. Made the whole trip worth it.
Hi Mike, Dumarao is a Town in Capiz, some locals maybe could not understand what you are asking because of your accents of pronunciation of Dumarao its pronounce as "Du-Ma-Raw". the letter "R" shoulb emphasize and "O".
Shy people in the town of DUMARAO...main town is a few kilometers away from the main highway where the market u are in.It's the last town in Capiz heading to Passi City.
Maybe, the most simple way to know how to say the name of the town you're in is just to ask the locals "what is the name of this town?" It will solve a lot of confusion, I bet.
Michael! I really enjoyed this vlog! Haha! I'm amazed how comfortable you are coming in someone else's house 😂 but I know it's just normal in there nextime I will invite you to our house in San Miguel 😅.
Mike my tip in pronouncing filipino words.. all vowels are pronounce the same aah for a, eh for e, eeh for i, oh for o, and ooh for u. Dumarao is pronounce as duu-mah-raaw.
True, I was at the time wondering if it's small or maybe just the market is just slow that day and everyone is busy. I should have asked if lots of people or little amount of people live there
Do you know any Tagalog or even Cebuano so you can get good answers for us? I feel bad for some of the locals you ask questions. They end up looking dumb because they aren't good in English.
@ThatPhilippinesLife Yes. A night before fiesta they have dinner. They serve Dinuguan made of pork blood 😁 Then fiesta night they have a disco in the covered gym. If you are planning to visit you are welcome to come to our house. My family is staying there. It's just a small baranggay though
I really enjoy your videos, but it does get confusing when your videos are skipping around & not in order. Any way that you could maybe put the video creation date in the description?
Hi michael. The reason why the folks can’t reply to your question because you are mispronouncing the name of the place . Dumarao is pronounced as Du mar ‘aw.
Lemme try too : Doo-mah-rah-oh The rah-oh is said quickly together like squished into one syllable. I think the emphasis would be on the “rah”. Doo-mah-RAHoh….More familiar with Tagalog & by more familiar mean totally non-fluent ☹️but understands somewhat.
Thank you Michael for visiting my Barangay, Tabugon Dingle, Iloilo!! I'm so proud!!
Humility is a great prize. People love to help a "lost" foreigner.

Always be careful on your trip, sir, it's unfortunate that you and your wife broke up,
My father was born in Du-ma-rao Capiz but dont know much about that town. We grew up in Iloilo City. Maybe thats where they hid during WW2 because he was born in 1942. Ding-le meanwhile is already in Iloilo province.
That is so interesting I will see if anyone I know is aware of this, I love history

Sir Sergio Paspe. My professor in Mechanical Engineering in Western Institute of Technology at clip 16:50
My favorite engineer is a ME♥️. How fun if you’re a regular subscriber, to suddenly see your prof! 👀😄
Maybe one day you and Regular guy can do a video together 2 canucks in paradise 🎉

Saint luis is the slums wow how
Maybe, the most simple way to know how to say the name of the town you're in is just to ask the locals "what is the name of this town?" It will solve a lot of confusion, I bet.
Michael, Dumarao is a municipality of Capiz, the local equivalent of a town!
Thank goodness they don't have strawberry fields there, otherwise they'd call it Dingleberry 🤣🤣🤣
Lol 🤣🤣 I'm glad I'm not the only one telling dad jokes
What do u know about dad jokes? You’re not a dad 😂
Michael! I really enjoyed this vlog! Haha! I'm amazed how comfortable you are coming in someone else's house 😂 but I know it's just normal in there nextime I will invite you to our house in San Miguel 😅.

@@javhidsammagbatoibaya1354bro fix ur grammar 🥹

The Philippines is so much nicer when you explore it single. Guys in an LDR, break it off before you arrive or you’ll be miserable 😂
Dumarao is a town.
most of them speak English its just when there is a Foreigner they get SO SHY and wont speak, they will just give you a smile
Mike my tip in pronouncing filipino words.. all vowels are pronounce the same aah for a, eh for e, eeh for i, oh for o, and ooh for u. Dumarao is pronounce as duu-mah-raaw.
Bro stay away from the drama, We like your channel without it, Your doing good, I knew you would, you like to talk, 😁, God Bless Belus
I'm pretty far removed from the drama so that won't be an issue
Next sir you coming to calinog and lambunao
To film that only in the Phillipines 👍
Barangay office can answer your questions.
~8:00. 😆😆”Not for today …or tomorrow…”.
Hahah I hoped it was for today and tomorrow
Hi Michael since you were in Dingle, did you visit the dam and swimming pool built in the early ‘60s?
No just a stop over when I saw the fiesta sorry not this time
@@ThatPhilippinesLife👍🏻😊
Tried sending a supersticker but google is back trying to get my ID. Let me know when there is another way to send $.
They think you are Brad Pitt 😮
Tbf I don't think it's common knowledge what the population of one own's town is. I have no idea of my own town too here in Cavite😂
True, I was at the time wondering if it's small or maybe just the market is just slow that day and everyone is busy. I should have asked if lots of people or little amount of people live there
Doo-ma-raw dumarao😊
It's actually pronounced as Ding-leh not Ding-gle. Hehe. Thank me later. 😊😅
I think the people don’t understand when you say dumarao. 😅 maybe pronounce it “ doo-mah-rao”.
Do you know any Tagalog or even Cebuano so you can get good answers for us? I feel bad for some of the locals you ask questions. They end up looking dumb because they aren't good in English.
No this area is Ilongo, when I move next in May to an area I'm going to take proper lessons for whatever the local language is
Your from mississauga where neighbors im from Brampton
I lived in Brampton for 4 years too right at the top of Brampton

I wonder whether someone could start a power washer business in the Philippines. And painting. A lot of dirt and mold, it seems.
Power washing business would be great

So many fiesta, are they all at lunch time?
@ThatPhilippinesLife Yes. A night before fiesta they have dinner. They serve Dinuguan made of pork blood 😁 Then fiesta night they have a disco in the covered gym. If you are planning to visit you are welcome to come to our house. My family is staying there. It's just a small baranggay though

Yea it's only the Chinese new year was a specific day so I uploaded it when it was timely. Normally I don't skip
it's not the same anymore without bianca T_T
The brother in the white shirt looks like duterte😮😊
Hi michael. The reason why the folks can’t reply to your question because you are mispronouncing the name of the place . Dumarao is pronounced as
Du mar ‘aw.
True. & I think M tries to slow down but he does speak quickly as his baseline….
Lemme try too : Doo-mah-rah-oh
The rah-oh is said quickly together like squished into one syllable.
I think the emphasis would be on the “rah”. Doo-mah-RAHoh….More familiar with Tagalog & by more familiar mean totally non-fluent ☹️but understands somewhat.
The expression is my nose is bleeding, not my ears. Why is it so hard for you to pronounce Guimbal correctly?
Pronounce it du ma raw😊😊😊

Try español 30% of Tagalog is...español LOL. Citizens of ASEAN countries can travel visa free within those 10 ASEAN countries.
