Love watching artists preparing for a piece and how different they can be!! Personally, I just acrylic gesso a board then dive right in with oils😂😂 so it's kinda refreshing watching all your steps!!
I absolutely LOVE your art! Often times people don't see the creative process but it's so important. Thank you for sharing your process. Now you have 2 beautiful pieces: a digital version and an oil painting. 😀
I'm probably late, but I'm so glad you're playing with style! It's also very interesting how much your process has changed, now since you're prepping so much priorhand!
Thank you so much for sharing all the details of your preparation process for oil painting. When I paint I usually just go straight to the canvas and start, however, I end up doing a lot of it over. I can clearly see how your steps can save time and work and make everything cleaner. Learning a lot from you.
Thank you for sharing your tools! I love seeing the prep work process for other artists. While we might all have different systems, it's also great reminder that good art is still hard work and pros push through the boring stuff for better results!
Hey, last year (2019), i came across this video, saw this, extremely fell in love with this image of girl on lotus and i also wanted to draw this pic. So i took some screenshots, enlarged, rearranged and started drawing it my own. Within 1 day like i finished it. That was incredibly beautiful!! ( i also can draw well ). Today, i don't know why but suddenly that pic came to my mind and wanted to find and see this video again. I didn't know about your channel so i searched in many ways😂 like "drawing a girl on lotus flower". I know it's funny but i had no idea how to search and find this video or your channel. And finally i remembered that you had an art studio. In that way i searched and got many videos. Again i had no idea how to pick up the correct one.so i started checking one by one. But in one video i saw some drawings and i don't know how but i sensed and felt that had to be you! I was soooo happy cuz i guessed and that was right. I came to your channel and then found the exact video i wanted!! ( this one ) . I'm happy to see you colouring it again! I love this video a lot!!! And i don't know why I'm telling my 'whole process of searching' to you. I don't know why I'm commenting it, but i just did. Cuz i wanted you to know about my effort of finding you and how much i love this ! Anyway thanks a lotttt! ( ah.... I'm tired of typing lol😁 so pls reply meee... )
I've been doing this method for a few months now and it really is useful even though its a longer process! A good idea is to buy a projector (i have a small cheap portable one) so that you don't have to waste your ink and paper to print out the line art for transferring!
Thank you so much for sharing, I had no idea there were this many steps. But I also appreciate you sharing and showing these steps because it does give others ideas on how they might can simplify their own art process. I look forward to your next vlog and or video!! 😊
This was most deff eyeopening! I knew oil painting was a lot of work but seeing the prep you do before you even paint is amazing. I admire you nd you’re work all the more. Still my favorite female artist💘💖
Nice. I was trying to explain to someone the other day that my process of making art is long, taking may drafts and visual references, then carefully bringing it all together. They couldn't understand why I'd bother if I couldn't just get better at coming up with an idea, laying it down and painting it. I could, but the result would suffer. Art can be a longer harder process for some, but the end result is what it's about. It's good to see someone else tracing their scanned art off of a monitor. Thought I was the only one.
I loved seeing your work process. It was so organized. I directly start working on a piece but seeing the thumbnail process I think I should also start doing that as it opens up quite a lot of creative possibilities. Thank you for showing your prep work!
*EXPECTATION* People : man drawing must be simple for artist.. I wish I can draw like that *effortlessly* *REALITY* artists: okay let's draw something.. first the model and then the colour and then shape and the shadowing and the parts and then The detail and then That and then this and that and this *about 3 hours* okay let's do it!. Wait.. I don't like the idea the concept - *another 3 hours* okay perfect! Now let's colour it! Edit : Not to mention "colour doesn't really fit well with your drawing . It doesn't look *organic* . And people said it was good but what you see it as a *completely nightmare*
I'm so glad to see you trace your lineart on screen and use a graphite sheet to trace the lineart on canvass I always do both and I haven't seen anyone else do it which made me question how i tedious i am at preparing to paint. thank you for showing us how you do it 👏❤❤ your art is amazing 🌸
I literally laughed out loud when I saw the monitor tracing but it made me so happy cause its so the kind of hack I'd do because f** investing in a light box 🤣🤣🤣
Now I know what are the steps I'm missing... To make colour composition less tedious while painting.... This was very helpful... Thank you 😊 you are amazing as always...
Thank you!!! I was looking forward to this video when you first talked about it. I havent painted in so long, there's this canvas laying in my closet and I've drawn out everything but i left it that way for i think a year now. I never could start it because i felt so overwhelmed? Anyway this video helps me have an idea of how to just ease into it without feeling so pressured about it, so hopefully I can start and complete it soon
This is beautiful!!! Just from looking at the sketch i can tell it's already going to be an amazing piece....I wish I could colour my drawings like I used to but I'm often scared of asking my guardians to buy colourpencils... anywho, you've inspired me on!!!
That step where you traced your sketch from your monitor reminded me so much of myself when I was in elementary school. I still remember doing that for various school projects, back when I had no creative imagination and really couldn't care less about how a picture turned out.
I use my phone as a light box to trace under a stretched canvas. Haha. It’s tough with a small screen. Your idea with the graphite paper is ingenious! I also like to see the color concept on paper first before painting, so I would draw and color in my sketchbook first before executing it onto a canvas.
Thanks you very much for your tips ! It is so ingenious to combine both traditional and digital medium. It is also great to see how long it takes to prepare the picture for coloring. It shows that art is a matter of (a lot of) work too.
Thanks for sharing your process with us, there are a lot of helpful tips here! Watching this makes me inspired to make something a bit more on the surreal side!
If you feel like it's too many steps... maybe once u figure out a thumb nail in ur sketchbook. finalize it digitally with a color pallet/line art, and then you would only have to print or scan once before transfer. I do almost everything digitally, even the thumb nail, And save my sketchbook for figure drawing and warm ups. It helps you save many too bec I can't count how many times I'm hours into something and used hella marker or paint and end up having to trash it.
I enjoy your recent traditional pieces so much I actually plan to buy three of your largest size prints that best “go” together decor wise. I’m an adult closer to your age that many of your viewers so the human proportions are more satisfying to me, personally
Thank you so much for making this video! It's going straight into my art knowledge ref bookmark folder for future reference! Hope your summer has been great so far
except, except I have no digital drawing mediums of my own yet. if you're into tutorial stuff, maybe make a version of this for more beginner level people? like instead of all the digital size expansion and mock ups, suggest a creating larger thumbnail to use as a swatch/to trace ect? just an idea. nowadays I can clearly see how to translate all of this into traditional mediums, (albeit in a far more time consuming way) but when I first saw this a year ago I got super disheartened because I thought I had to have a ton of high tech supplies just to do thumbnailing. so I just...never did it. probably more my own fault than yours, but it might be helpful to other newbies, and I know you're into supporting artists of all skill levels. :) (also sorry this is long and badly worded, typing this in my lunch beak whilst drinking WAY too much coffee. )
This was interesting on many levels. I have never seen the digital side of art, hence I didn't understand it. Gosh, you do go through a lot to get to the final, incredible artwork!! Tyfs.C. I will visit your shop, of course. However, I am in the UK so that may affect the shipping. Also, I have no idea which I would choose?? Lol....😉🦋🐾
I found all this interesting because you see, Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto's artist) uses a process really similar, even I use a similar process xD Kishimoto's process, as explained in one artbook by himself, consist of: creating a thumbnail, a dirty sketch; when he's sure he likes the sketch then scan's it and adjust it to the final size, then with a light table (is this the world in English?) cleans the sketch. After all this he can actually start drawing and coloring xD Maybe his method's changed with time, but at some point at least, he did use a detailed process. All of this means this technique is very effective and a lot of artists (should) know.
Mind blowing, this is a very unique talent. I just love the way you do it making it look so effortless. I also do art but this quality is so high standard i feel too small in front of you. Thanks for sharing this amazing work dear . God bless you ❤
idk if this seems weird but can u do a video about staying clean and organized while painting? i find i get paint all over myself and my brushes get muddy and my pallete gets so dirty and i’m a mess lol
If I could only watch 1 channel ever again it would be yours hehe no joke.. I've been watching since you had like ten videos and i was younger so it's kind of comforting to hear your voice and watch you do your art.
Also I never took the time to look at your prints despite me being subscribed for awhile, but now that i have aaahhhh there's so many i want 😭 i know for sure I'll get some in the future.
Im gonna be short here: Confidence is really important in art, and anything that gives you confidence should be more than needed to be done in order to complete your art. Art is the highest form of ritual, dont miss on steps if u want the magic to be strong. :^) hehe i went a little edgy there but i hope u get what i mean. Cheers and thank you for sharing your process with us.
Great video! I have soooo many questions! Do you reference images in your sketching process? The pose was so elegant, mine would be stick legs! Also, I would love to see your thought process while you are sketching - what led you to the idea or do you come up with character back stories? Lastly, your actual painting looks more 3D due to lighting than your digital art (because it's more of a color study), do you have a model for reference to know where the light hits or are you just that good? That's all! :]
I like it when artists show their process because it's let the other person see how the piece was created. It was cool to see.
I just wanna say you were the one that got me to start oil painting and its amazing thank you soooo much👏
Same for me!!
Aww the pleasure is all mine! So glad you’re enjoying oils ❤️
I never knew so much went into making a finished painting! I love your work and you truly deserve so much recognition for your hard work!
I'm probably late, but I'm so glad you're playing with style! It's also very interesting how much your process has changed, now since you're prepping so much priorhand!
Thank you, it’s always helpful to see other people’s ways of doing things!

This video was so cool watch. Definitely very eye opening to what others artists do to create a masterpiece.
Love seeing more of your process! Prepping for actual painting can feel so tedious sometimes, but is so worth it! Thanks for sharing!!!
Fantastic video! I absolutely loved watching your prep work! 😊💞
This is actually really genius❤️❤️❤️ using your monitor as a tracing box😘😘thank you so much for sharing
I think her preparation is already a masterpiece. It is a delight just watching it.😊😉

You could literally stop at your digital rendition... its honestly really good...

Yep it's not easy!
Same.
and crumpled the paper 🙇
Iwata Keisuke Same when I draw something my friends tell me it's amazing but for me it looks ugly as flip T^T
This is so helpful! I love this method. I always forget to think of using transfer paper when transferring a sketch to a canvas/panel.
I'm so glad to see you trace your lineart on screen and use a graphite sheet to trace the lineart on canvass
I always do both and I haven't seen anyone else do it which made me question how i tedious i am at preparing to paint.
thank you for showing us how you do it 👏❤❤
your art is amazing 🌸
Shet i finally found the best tutor, ive been waiting, i love your aesthetic paints, and i love you too,
youre hand wrighting is so neat and nice i like it and this was very helpful thank you a lot!
I literally laughed out loud when I saw the monitor tracing but it made me so happy cause its so the kind of hack I'd do because f** investing in a light box 🤣🤣🤣
Extremely helpful video! I've only recently started adding extra steps to my process, and I have to say, it's totally worth it!!!
Now I know what are the steps I'm missing... To make colour composition less tedious while painting.... This was very helpful... Thank you 😊 you are amazing as always...
you’re one of my favourite artists and inspiration in doing art ❤️

i love your art👌👌
i am big fan of yours😊😊
This gives me confidence to try larger paintings! Thanks 🙏
I would like to see more of these prep stuffs bc of how interesting the process behind it💜
Thanks you very much for your tips ! It is so ingenious to combine both traditional and digital medium. It is also great to see how long it takes to prepare the picture for coloring. It shows that art is a matter of (a lot of) work too.

your work is wonderful. studying the graceful beauty of girls have always been one of my goals so !!
i think the thumbnail step was really helpful, this could help us planout our social media profiles.
Thank you so much for making this video! It's going straight into my art knowledge ref bookmark folder for future reference! Hope your summer has been great so far
this is amazing.
I always thought illlustrators just draw amazing sketches on the point
literally all tips my mentor gave me recently, it's a good reminder and i'm so glad you made this video. (also, eyy graphgear 1000 squad.)

Even if I do all of this I would still find a way to change the official piece somehow.🤣🤣
Not gonna lie this video was hind so satisfying 😭😍
I do the same thing some times.
It's called anxiety 😭😭😭😭
I would love if that painting was on a notebook like the one you used in the beginning or even a sketchbook- I would buy one in a heartbeat
This was absolute awesome and so helpful!!!
I really enjoyed seeing your prepainting process❤👍

Interesting your method. Your drawings are very nice.
What's the pencil that u use? Cuz I've always wondered what it is. I also love this it looks beautiful
If I could only watch 1 channel ever again it would be yours hehe no joke.. I've been watching since you had like ten videos and i was younger so it's kind of comforting to hear your voice and watch you do your art.
If only i have money for all these....
Faded.
Also I never took the time to look at your prints despite me being subscribed for awhile, but now that i have aaahhhh there's so many i want 😭 i know for sure I'll get some in the future.
