Thanks Stephen for summarising in such short time. I watched live and I got lost. A bit overwhelming for me. I look forward to your future videos with more key points on each OS, and that’s a lot of reviews 😅
Can u explain on ur next vid if the “Apple intelligence “ features are gonna be on the A17 pro and M chips only or are they gonna be available for devices that support the latest OS ? Bcs I’m confused
Apple Intelligence specifically is A17 Pro and M chips only. But certain features built-in to macOS Sequoia and iOS 18, like Safari Reader with summaries, will be available to everyone with that OS
This is going to make people feel there phones are out of date already. I thought I had a up to date phone when I got my iPhone 15 and was happy, now I feel I have lost out already.
@@MeowtualRealityGamecatyeah I fell u man but Apple can’t really do nothing about that bcs it requires powerful chips with neural engines and AI processing power and stuff like that to fully utilize the Apple AI features
Great recap. Apple gave a masterful presentation today that I fully expect to get trashed by UA-cam tech-bros. I don’t know how you digested all that information so quickly and also give the best highlights! I’m also sure if this WWDC follows the pattern much, much more was not even mentioned at the keynote and we’ll discover with the Betas.
A big frustration of mine is that you cannot change font and font colour in Apple Notes on iPad or iPhone - do you know if this will be available? BTW, love the dub dub summary. It was fantastic. Keep up the fantastic work thanks
I wonder if the HomePods will even be able to use the new Siri - they currently are pretty useless with pretty much any request/question being responded with “I’ve pulled up some results on your iPhone”.
@@beardfm it's one of my biggest problems with iOS tbh... 30k photos and i can't sort them because apparently apple devs don't know how sorting pictures work...

Half my life runs on well considered decisions, half on serendipity: Welcome to my life. I think Apple Intelligence is brilliant, and look forward to trying it. I'll _definitely_ be buying an iPhone 16 Pro Max when it comes out. Betcha a small fraction these features will roll out with iOS 18 launch, and features will show up throughout the following year in fits and spurts with software updates. These are features that will really matter to me whereas most AI stuff until now have left me sort of cold and unimpressed - like the most impressive stuff was also the most concerning (like deep-fakes). Feels like Apple should be shoving a lot of these on-device models into EPROM to reduce load times and memory occupancy, but what do I know?
Of everything announced the one thing that I'm thinking "man, that'll be great!" is the ability to control an iphone from the macbook. It'll make all the increasing annoyances of two-factor authentication less painful if I can swipe into my phone on my laptop screen......
@@beardfm there are several sites where I have to use a second hand authenticator (like google authenticator or microsoft) and it won't let me use even biometric auth on the macbook keyboard. SO aggravating.
Apple Intellegence also means until 3rd Party apps fully integrate, you will have to really take advantage of using Apple's 1st party apps and be deeper in the Eco system to take full advantage of all the new features.
0:29 The name itself Apple Intelligence is such a Steve Jobs move. If he were alive today announcing this, he would have exactly said that. Kudos to Apple.
Unclear what about Siri goes to older phones, but it's safe to say that anything showed off in the "Apple Intelligence" segment is not coming to Siri on older phones
I have to say iPad OS seems to be so left behind in all this. They’ve launched pro iPads but the experience is anything other than pro. I’m trying to use my iPad as my main computer as it has more than enough processing power by the software is just buggy and frustrating to do things that have been easy to do on a Mac for decades. I realise they can’t make the iPad like a MacBook as it’ll eat into their own market share but still. I won’t be buying an iPad Pro again that’s for sure. This update doesn’t offer any obvious fixes to those fundamental issues and I suspect that they never really can fix them.
That’s some steep hardware requirements, only my laptop will make it. If this requires iPhone 15 PRO or more, that’s a really small subsection of Apple’s customers.
Imagine the actual amazing features and products Apple would have if Steve Jobs was still alive and running it. Instead, Apple is peddling boring, unimportant, petty updates and selling them as “amazing, new must-have features” for astronomical prices. Is Apple the sponsor of your videos?
Tbh this got me scared. If tech keeps developing at this pace, what will it do for the people in the 9 - 5? At this point AI is literally going through your private info and SUGGESTING things for you to do. WOW.

I understand that Apple is trying to get all of THEIR Apple products to work with one another. But it is rather discouraging to see that there is no attempts to get their OS Systems to be able to work with Microsoft Software Products. I use a lot of Ham Radio Products that work very well on Microsoft Computers. But the Ham Radio Software that has been developed for the MAC are lack luster at best. Apple was promoting how Game Developers have made their games work with the MAC, IPhone and IPADS. But why is Apple not working with other Microsoft Software Developers to get their products to work with the MAC OS? That I just don't understand.
Great recap, but Apple seems desperate, as it should be. Too little, too late. They should have OWNED AI, but they’re behind. It’s time for Tim to go. Siri is a frustrating mess due to Tim’s inability to manage the Siri team. Today’s presentation was a kitchen sink of stuff intended to convince us they’re meeting the AI challenge. I’m not convinced, nor are investors (Apple’s stock dropped following the presentation).

Getting an iPhone 15 Pro felt a little excessive for me at the time, but now I'm starting to realize that it was worth the extra money.
It’s their marketing. And by this step they are losing some genuine customers . At least they have consider 14 top end phone.
So do I. At the time I did it for the new A17pro chip and x5 telephoto lens. Now, I realise the extra RAM was worth it.
