There is something absolutely terrifying about the power of human determination. Sends chills down your back doesn't it, how a man can go to such length and endure such an ordeal.
You better pack like 400 repair powder if you want to kill Vendrick with Broken Swords. Seriously, durability for normal weapons is a problem in DS2 and Broken Sword has complete ass durability compared to regular weapons. And even if you get all of the Giant Souls, he still doesn't take good damage. Enjoy 30 minutes of hacking Vendrick's ankles off with a wet tissue.
You know what I'm gonna go ahead and say it. I miss the weapon system from Dark Souls 2 and the backstab animations. Those were both really cool. I also miss the spice concept. I also missed how buffed/split damage was actually worth a damn.
Shit man I think I've died to the ruin sentinels more times than any boss in Dark souls. To see them killed with a BSS warms and saddens my heart at the same time.
You're seriously one of my favorite souls profiles out there, and this is one of the best souls related videos I've ever seen. Respect, man, this made me feel some type of way looking back on all my time in DS2. Keep up the awesome work dude, seeya in DS3!
I still come back to these old videos of Lenny's. There is something about them that is incredible with how they start of as a basic meme but turn into something inspirational.
when they make dark souls 4, from software should totally name the broken sword after you, and in the description it should speak of your legend dude. good job seriously!!
Broken Straight Sword Slash/thrust "A shattered, dull straight sword. Using your bare hands would be better than this. Although many regard this as useless, a few souls retell the legend of a Lord of Cinder who chose this as his weapon. But this is surely just a story."
Looking back on this video, you wouldn't think it to be so bad. But, I have recently completed a deprived only w/ no leveling (so soul level 1 all the way baby) and it has given me a new light and appreciation for these types of runs/videos. May God have mercy on your hollowed soul.
I come back here more often than you'd think for that inspirational montage. Working to become a P.A. and it's difficult to say the least. When things start to get overwhelming I come back here for that little bit. I remember the struggles of the souls game, and when the chips were down using my determination to refuse to give up the fight. Something about the combination of dark souls + inspirational speeches give me all the motivation I need to keep pushing forward.
Man I just came back to this video for probably the 10th time and only now suddenly realised, this is the first video he did in the experience and dark souls broken sword series. Would not have expected this man to start of such a banger of a career and plethora of spicy videos with Dark Souls 2 of all games.
Omg, I had this going as background noise while playing bloodborn. And that song started playing at the start of my fight with the orphan of kos. Priceless timing

This does NOT count as a true Dark Souls 2 Experience, Bearer of the Curse. you didn't even kill the great ancient dragon. hahaha jkjk, wondering how much this would take haha
I'm not sure it's possible to kill Vendrick with no giant souls and Broken Swords. You literally do like 1 damage per hit and I was having to use repair powder every minute or so. I'd estimate it would take probably 1.5-2 hours with no mistakes, and maybe 100+ repair powders. I've killed Ancient Dragon with a Broken Sword (I didn't power stance them because I'm an idiot) and it took about 40 minutes and IIRC like 15 repair powders.
It’s currently 2024 I wanted to rewatch this video to remind myself the pain and torture I put myself through when this game came out and years after, why do I kind of miss it 😅
Hm now that I look at the game after so many years I wonder how people can be so ignorant. They always say that DS2 had only big knights as boss fights and no ugly creatures like other DS have. I dont think they actually played the game. The rotten, Covetous demon and Demon of song are disgusting. Was nightmare fuel for me for sure.

>having a weapon for starting Ogre How luxurious. Jests aside, it was good training to learn him pre-customizing my character. Didn't realize before then that the ass slam steered opposite of the side you favor (never at his 6, either at his 5 or 7). Wanted to do a SL1 run for DaS2, but there are two versions and NG+ actual means something, so I'll have to do 4 runs. To vary things further, the vanilla DaS2 stuff will be original patch and SotFS will be final patch. SL1 doesn't tend to do that much (just no leveling **so a basic NUR**), so I went the extra mile (no improvement on Estus, gear, etc. **including infusions beyond what one can find**) to make it NUR+. I'm not good enough for something like GoW's PAIN in a Souls game (which would take away any healing, force me to use starting gear from the tutorial, no rings, no consumables, etc. **only managed 4 Kids by way of tossing shit at them while handling Gwyn like I'd suggested Wulf too for his Toxic antics, but with more hiding behind a pillar tactics since I have shit for skill**). But vanilla DaS2 SL1 NUR+ was not enough. No, this game has a covenant for making things harder, so that is a natural choice. Where able, that is to be in effect (but no resistance to despawning until SotFS **troubling as that might prove, it is pretty shit when trying to get souls with finite means to do so**). Still not enough. I'd never really had the pleasure of (despite doing all the skip tech for Shrine of Winter) doing the late game early. Felt the first of four runs could vary it up this way, thus 'SoW bosses first' was piled on without really thinking about it. NOTE: This 'boss order' rule fucked me harder than I expected. Can't even get my 100% PHY block shield option (though it needs 2H) until much later in the run now. I forgot Darklurker is technically the first as such (you can encounter two Darkdiver locations before killing any bosses and the last one before you reach 2x Riders). I had also overlooked how I would have finite attempts against him (even more so like this **where otherwise I might use 'infinite effigy' options** as I don't do online or even allow summons though they could potentially add more challenge **solo is preferred**). That's the real pisser (so much so that I had to put the run on pause from the start **need to look-up how backing up saves work as I don't intend on putting off the boss nor making a run exception for his special case**). At least I should be able to perma-kill the trash before him (that you otherwise have to kill for the pre-boss set-up). Of course, managing the kill with the starting set-up I've got in the run won't be a walk in the park. Not having the hag move-able for infinite Life Gem purchases is a bother. Not having access to Holy Water (on tap) is another still. Same for Poison Throwing Knives (or being able to use poison arrows **need stat improving gear that just wasn't as much of a thing yet**). Being able to buy Effigies would be dandy (as would a DaS1 style easy dupe to bypass grinding **or just a dupe for the desired goodies, but perhaps that is asking a bit much**). When the run properly gets off the ground (haven't started the portals just yet, but I've got everything done I can do before killing a boss), I'll be happy. I really want to test myself against some of these foes, but I'm not a fan of having a 'lives' system in play as well with this one case. Once Darklurker is down, things should become quite enjoyable (re-experiencing some old horror in worse conditions). Not so sure about Vendrick without Giant Souls though. Presuming I do 1 damage per hit, bare fists makes the most sense for what will exceed an hour certainly (for a successful attempt). Similar issue with Ancient Dragon more owed to a need for some tools I won't have access to owed to order of things available to me. Post-Nashandra stuff should be a downhill slide for the most part. NG+ will be handled in a more normal order, but I'll probably need save scumming as a back-up for Darklurker stuff (just in-case). SotFS ought to mix things up with all the new options I'll get before DLC areas shit all over me. I don't plan on fucking with Invisible Aava in these conditions (beating him like that was troublesome enough without restrictions). With final patch taking away the instant kill, I don't see much hope for me handling Burnt Ivory King without getting more boy toys to help close those portals/gates. A pity. >Last Giant I'll probably try to learn how baiting his face plant works. I'm used to just working his stomps, but I'd like to see if there is more I can utilize. >shit damage on Purse User I don't imagine I'll be much better off when the time comes, but at least he's easy. 2x Purse User will probably suck short of using an exploit or something (but I don't imagine I'll allow it). >Ruin Sentinels Should be a ball. Wish there were more options from the environment. Letting their shield toss bust the damaged gate for another entrance point would be swell. Having the platforms more connected above for leaping between could be nice (along with perhaps one **not the starting point**) with a ladder to kick down). Actually letting us go into the secret wall rooms during the fight could be pushing it, but I'd dig it. Having it be possible for platforms to collapse when all supporting pillars break such that it can flatten us or deal tremendous damage to the enemies would be just dandy. >con artist This slut will probably destroy me when I wait to invade her in the real battle. >Sinner Likely the last boss I'll have in the run. Thinking back on it, are we able to escape the Nash boss room after killing her (like SoC)? I can't remember if it traps you with a choice like Gwyn. Anyway, I want to remember her original self (and face the NG+ version properly later) without the torches (and wish the fight was all it could have been with darkness more akin to TotG being utilized). >Najka I look forward to trying out the 'mounting' strats this time around. I'm used to slapping her flanks/rear to bait the sweeps and working things out that way. >Freja Should be simple enough (though I do want to test out a method of just baiting her close attacks and punishing without much running around **where the normal approach exploits the laser over and over**). More interested in fighting her in SotFS to see this business about torches scaring away the adds. >Skeleton Lords A lot more could have been done with them. >Covetous Aside from the usual use of corpses to keep his attention, I'll be looking to try and get him to poison himself (as I've seen happen before). Think he just needs to eat one of the pots. >Mytha Killing her as I intend to with the poison bog active will be shit for the first go, but the rest should be pretty simple affairs. >Old Iron King More worried about learning Smelter again (before having to deal with Old Smelter later). >Rotten Not a fan of how he's immune to the environmental hazards despite being open to fire damage otherwise. >LGK Not sure how much he'll trouble me just yet. If it comes to it, the strat for making him spawn his help in a wall can be invoked, I suppose. >Shrine of Amana Can't wait to do this place in v1.00 again. Without effective long range tools. I expect to do a lot of kiting to leash points (abuse those AI boundaries). >Velstadt At least he cannot pull a SoC and heal in my face over and over. That massive cunt. >Giant Lord Only concern with him is the damn time limit (secondary only to Darklurker giving finite tries). >watcher/Defender I wonder if I'm going to be able to rise to the occasion to fight both at once for this first run. Might abuse an old exploit to take out one threat completely. >Big Sexy Nash will be a joke (even without pulling some stunt with turning off her AI).
I wish someone who's never played a souls game would just stream only using the broken shit through all 3 games. It would be one of the most painful things to watch. It would be funny as fuck tho
Basically what it does is it forces your weapon to scale in your lowest stat(my characters usually are quality builds which means they have well rounded strength, dex, int, and faith.) and if you have a quality build you would murder everything with such weapon scaling. It was op as hell
Dark souls 2 bosses are the easyest ? Im personaly discord. high lord wolnir took me literally 53 seconds to defeat ( in my first try) (by far the easyest boss in the game), never get defeated by abyss watchers and deacons of deep is a joke. the bosses that gave me dificult in 3 are: dancer of boreal valley, nameless king and dark mindir. in 2: smelther demon, the dragon of dlc, fume knight, sir alonne and lost sinner.

A pity.
>Last Giant
I'll probably try to learn how baiting his face plant works. I'm used to just working his stomps, but I'd like to see if there is more I can utilize.
>shit damage on Purse User
I don't imagine I'll be much better off when the time comes, but at least he's easy. 2x Purse User will probably suck short of using an exploit or something (but I don't imagine I'll allow it).
>Ruin Sentinels
Should be a ball. Having it be possible for platforms to collapse when all supporting pillars break such that it can flatten us or deal tremendous damage to the enemies would be just dandy.
>con artist
This slut will probably destroy me when I wait to invade her in the real battle.
>Sinner
Likely the last boss I'll have in the run.
>Najka
I look forward to trying out the 'mounting' strats this time around. I'm used to slapping her flanks/rear to bait the sweeps and working things out that way.
>Freja
Should be simple enough (though I do want to test out a method of just baiting her close attacks and punishing without much running around **where the normal approach exploits the laser over and over**). More interested in fighting her in SotFS to see this business about torches scaring away the adds.
>Skeleton Lords
A lot more could have been done with them.
>Covetous
Aside from the usual use of corpses to keep his attention, I'll be looking to try and get him to poison himself (as I've seen happen before). Think he just needs to eat one of the pots.
>Mytha
Killing her as I intend to with the poison bog active will be shit for the first go, but the rest should be pretty simple affairs.
>Old Iron King
More worried about learning Smelter again (before having to deal with Old Smelter later).
>Rotten
Not a fan of how he's immune to the environmental hazards despite being open to fire damage otherwise.
>LGK
Not sure how much he'll trouble me just yet. If it comes to it, the strat for making him spawn his help in a wall can be invoked, I suppose.
>Shrine of Amana
Can't wait to do this place in v1.00 again. Without effective long range tools. I expect to do a lot of kiting to leash points (abuse those AI boundaries).
>Velstadt
At least he cannot pull a SoC and heal in my face over and over. That massive cunt.
>Giant Lord
Only concern with him is the damn time limit (secondary only to Darklurker giving finite tries).
>watcher/Defender
I wonder if I'm going to be able to rise to the occasion to fight both at once for this first run. Might abuse an old exploit to take out one threat completely.
>Big Sexy
Nash will be a joke (even without pulling some stunt with turning off her AI).
>No Champions Covenant
Do it again
Gotta appreciate the dual broken straight swords.
I wish someone who's never played a souls game would just stream only using the broken shit through all 3 games. It would be one of the most painful things to watch. It would be funny as fuck tho
I lost it at double dragonriders. Good job, sir!
I'm stupid for asking this, but how is the Mundane stone good?
TheBigMan0706 They aren't. Once they were stupidly good (see Santier Spear's Reing of Terror)
TheBigMan0706 mundane was op before sotfs
if ya got 20 in every stat, it made your weapons do meme magic levels of damage
XxXDarkEdgeMasterXxX 30, even better
Basically what it does is it forces your weapon to scale in your lowest stat(my characters usually are quality builds which means they have well rounded strength, dex, int, and faith.) and if you have a quality build you would murder everything with such weapon scaling. It was op as hell
Those two last inspirational speeches are call go all out and unbroken. Both by les brown
I give this 3 hecks out 17 nae naes
It's beautiful how more than half of the songs used in this video are Spongebob soundtracks
8 year anniversary, who's still watching this masterpiece?
This was an awesome video, and I'm glad that I stuck around for it all. Subscribed
holy shit ds2 is easy as fuck
And 3 is even easyer
Nameless Yeah I don't think that's the case, DS2 bosses were by far the easiest minus the DLC.
Nameless lost sinner? seriously?
Try fight him with 2 pyromancers and winouth help
I love the inspirational speeches in this video
u played the whole game with 2 broken sword only for a 14 min video.... need dislike
jk xD respect man. hope u become more views for that
"this will be easy" he says before getting chased by 25 hollowed infantry. I love this guy's videos
Funny, this is exactly how long my DS2 experience lasted. And I'm counting the few minutes that went into refunding it.
**claps halfheartedly while rolling eye**
WHAT ARE U, CASUL?
Damn dude, you beat these games out of sheer will power alone. Fuckin' incredible
