"Hey Lorenzo, you painted the Cinghiale black to make it look sophisticated and luxurious, right?"
"I painted it black because that car is Evil." *Lorenzo makes the sign of the cross*
No wonder the Montone 1100 sold so well! Perfect driver's car, and in the MM bodystyle also very practical
The 1100 Montone is pretty impressive there. Surely it'll become a favorite for collectors and historic racers in the future.
Lorenzo must have balls of steel to drive his tin cans at anything over 10kmh. Great video to see the improvements in performance over the years.
The original drifter. It wasn't the Japanese like we've been told!
There is an interview with one dev saying to not paint transparent body parts, you should paint as invisible glass if you want to have a better export version and don't lose the structural behavior of it original part, so less shaky cars.
The Rivetto certainly had that built in the shed feel about it. Also "let's keep it steady." *Immediate screeching*
100 CC increase from 750 to 850 gave you 10 seconds
900 CC increase from 1100 to 2000 gave you 2 seconds lol
2000 might have been a bit too much. Could be interesting how a Montone might have performed with something like a 1500CC engine
Great to see such unique pieces of Fruinian automotive industry being driven the way Lorenzo intended, pedal to the metal, shaking and all. I'm choosing to believe Lorenzo knew the frames were hanging on by a thread when he designed them.
1:47 I quite like everything wobbling and vibrating, it really gives it the "worryingly handbuilt in a shed" feel.
Each panel vibrating slightly different amounts of play and at different speeds produces a sort of 'Polyphonic Symphony of imminent failure' to keep me permanently on edge.
What a perfect, poetic way to describe the seconds before the inevitable, spontaneous and unplanned disassembly :D
These cars are the perfect mix between old school charm, speediness and life threathening driving characteristics and I love 'm
Shaking as much as my little Kei cars! xD Was pretty much impossible to control... you're doing a better job at it than I could! xD
Would this be possible to fix? Along with the very high inertia for small engines, and the exporter brake balance that basically has no correlation with the Automation brake balance graphs lol
It's a lot better with a smoother camera already, but yeah, the tires seem to grip-take-off-grip and so on nevertheless. It's less of a problem with heavier cars for sure.
@@Ignacio.Romero Certainly something that needs to be looked into!
Can't believe you destroyed one of the only few produced Cinghiale and damaged another! Such a waste to automotive history...
these cars were meant to be driven as such! they were not meant to be rusting away in some oil baron's private collection.
Haha 😂
I might have forgotten during driving that it was a unique prototype :D
@@the.bavarian let's be real, the cinghiale was designed to be driven just like that. I for one am glad it actually got to live out its purpose of being too fast, and very hard to control lol.
"we don't want our customers to die" - a smarter man than elon musk
Nuovavia looks and drives like it will become a cult classic
I havent pressed play yet but I'm already ecstatic
For testing future cars I would suggest these tracks:
Top Gear Dunsfold Test Track - Aside from the fact that it has modern surroundings, it fits perfectly in the vein of the 50s/60s racetracks that once were military airports.
Pau Grand Prix (Street Circuit) - Simply, a classic of classics
Nürburgring {(Nordschleife + Sudschleife) (1967) - While Nordschleife is long af, Sudschelife is pretty short and used to be a part of the Nurburgring before demolition and being replaced by the current GP circuit.
Saint-Savin, France - Beauty shots maybe?
Monza 1966 - Perhaps the ultimate proving ground for the car's stability and speed (banking included!)
Monaco 1966 - Another "Mille Monti" style event maybe?
you have no idea how long i been waiting to see more from you :) you are probably swamped with the MM challenge so it's understandable naturally
A bit swamped, yes :D
Nice to see il Porcellino again :) Still think Cisalpina needs to find a way to put that "Luxury Rivetto" that someone made for you into Production sometime in the 90's as a sort of Fruinian Morgan, as the 1100MM Variant is still a pretty little number :) a Modern 2 Litre Engine from Brillante Motor Wunder over in Hedvetsia? (Spelling?) a nice Diff and 5 Speed Box from Might (nowhere near as Imperalist by then), all round Disks with ABS, and some modern Radials to sort out the Handling!, and a Spaceframe Chassis under the Wood Frame should meet the Safety and Emissions Regs :)
7K for the 850 and 9K RPM for the 1100?!!, for a little Pushrod family car "Generator" that dates back to the 30's, the old SPAM 412 sure likes to Rev! must have made a lot of Car Enthusiasts a little Sad when it went out of Production in '66.
The Little Squealy Pig was the 850 Rivetto, but the name carried on for the 1100.
"!~@**&%£$!" -Lorenzo after sticking the 1100 in the Kitty Litter.
Yup, Drivers must have needed Bell Clappers the Size of Planets to drive the 1100 Fast!
Easy to see why the Montone, for her rough Start in Life as "La Banana!" became so loved by Car Enthusiasts all over the World for its Sweet, Easy, Gentle Nature, Revvy Engine, lovely Chassis, Pretty Looks, and Surprising Practicality, no wonder why she was Cisalpina's main Seller for nearly 20 Years! :)
Yes, La Banana had a Limited Slip Diff.
"Lorenzo! you a Wreckda da Prototipo! it wassa da one off!" "onna da purpose, shoulda never made the ~@:!! Dethadatrap inna da firsta Place!"... all the Cheap wine he drank while Pulling Cisalpina out of the Financial Death Spiral resulting from F1 sent Lorenzo Mad! Mad I Say! MAAAAAAD! Bwooohooohooohahahahahahahaaaaaa!! (Mark Hamill Joker Laugh..) after all...
8K, the Original "Racing" Version of the DOHDAC V8 sure loved to Rev!
Yup, Lorenzo did the right thing Cancelling the Cinghiale, it was Downright Dangerous! Eeeeevil Handling Car! Borderline Undrivable unless you drove him the way he demanded to be Driven! Il Tiranno!
Nuovavia looks Great! Engine was detuned from around 130 to 110 Horsepower wise IIRC. Still with those great looks and Rev Hungry, Howling V8, its easy to see why the Rich and Wealthy Playboys of the Period went Crazy for it! with those bad brakes and sketchy handling however one does have to wonder, sadly, how many of them ended up wrapping themselves around a Telegraph Pole...
That's a Point, is the old Cisalpina 4 speed a Synchro Box or a "Crash" (double de clutch to match Speed and Revs or Grrrrrraaakkkh and bang go all the teeth!...) Box?
Oh Man! what a Scream from the F1! Lightning Fast as well, if very Sketchy, still with a Really good Driver (Maybe someone who used to Race Motorbikes, as Bernd Rosemeyer used to be able to control the Insane V16 Type C Auto Union so much better than his team mates simply through being used to Bikes and Driving it as if it was a Bike as a Result, to which it Responded superbly!) who could tame the Wild Handling, she would have gotten some Victories for sure on the Really Twisty Tracks such as Clermont Ferrand (Been the Full 6 Mile Public Road course through the Mountains back then!), the Nürburgring, Monaco, etc, where the Speed Advantage for the Ferranti "Dolphin Nose" 641 would have been Neutralised!
"Lorenzo! try notta to wrecka da F2! we cannot afforda to repair it!! sigh...getta onta Yamura and ask iffa we can borrow Pete..."
The "Four Wheel Drift" is a vital Skill to learn for Old F1's...
Ahh, the C2, the '60's LCC Rocket, the Fruinian Lotus 7, and, possibly, a "Forever Car" for Cisalpina as there is No doubt in my Mind that It would do, Today, Extremely well as a "Kit Car" , so maybe it needs to really become Fruinia's Lotus/Caterham 7 in that, with Sympathetic Upgrades to the Frame (to meet Safety as Automation does not, *yet* , have IVA and "Small Volume Manufacturer" Clauses), Engine (including maybe swapping out for a more modern "Euro Compliant" unit later on) Gearbox (5, then 6, Speeds), wheels (to fit Disks and Radials), etc, it remains In Production right up to 2020 and the End of the Campaign.
Well, the Caterham, even the Latest, much more "tamed" Versions, will also try and Exterminate you if you do not know what you are doing, so the C2 is still Fine! I guess Lorenzo maybe isn't quite a good a Driver as he sometimes Imagines himself to be!
So, given the Wheel Lock issues (which show that Cisalpina need to go Disk Brake as soon as Possible as the Drums cannot cope with the Speed!) is Cisalpina going to go ABS in the 80's? or are they going to do a TVR and not add it until Forced to by ABS being made Mandatory even under IVA in around 2015?
For GT, I suggest a Well Balanced (not a Superlight due to the 200+ Horse Engine that Market is going to be Demanding by the Late 60s/Early 70's, we do not want another Cinghiale! it needs to be Heavy Enough to Tame the Power, but not an Absolute Boat Either to avoid getting Might Mad with Terrible Consequences!), Luxurious, yet extremely Sporty, Wedge Shaped "Shooting Brake" (Nice and Practical) with Disk Brakes (as they would be Appearing on Ferranti's, Leopard's and Clinton Lionel's (the famous 5BD of the Bames Jond Movies..) around that time!) a 5 Speed Box and a Nice Big 2.2 Litre "Big Bore" Version of the Twin Cam on Dual Weber's with Plenty of Torque and a Good 200+ Horsepower.
The last thing they need to do is make a Boat as that would Step on Might's Toes and Result in Might Buying them out to "End the Threat from those Jumped up Fruinian Commies!" , resulting in Lorenzo being turfed off the Farm by "il Imperialisti", and Future "Cisalpina's" just being Mights but with a Hotter (even Bigger!) Motor, a Bodykit, a Special "badge" and some "Rich Corinthian Leather" on the Seats. That is when the Workforce is not on Strike under an Impossibly Militant Trade Union that is utterly Opposed to the Existence of Gasmea, and is also Controlled by Moscow via Arkhana... So a Nice Well Balanced Sports GT in the Style of the '70's Lotus Eclat to keep Cisalpina Independent by not upsetting Might!
I don't think Might is that imperialist. They did make the bramble after all.
@@Laz7481 Later on however, after their Confidence was shook by the Arkhana-Dalluhla War that caused a massive Oil Crisis in '73, I see them as Imperialist before '73, and then more Egalitarian after the Oil Crisis showed them just how vulnerable they actually are.
You crashed the one-off!
"onna da purpose, shoulda never made the ~@:!! Dethadatrap inna da firsta Place!" -Lorenzo, sent mad by the Cheap Wine.
I'm sorry, I got a bit carried away by trying to be faster than the 1.1 liter :(
cant say my favorite cuz all of them are great, tho the montone 2000 Cinghiale looks like something batman would drive if he was in the 60s
60's Batman drove a Lincoln...
I’ve already extensively tested the cars uploaded to the repository haha but it’ll be interesting to see the other cars
as someone who drives the 750 regularly, that thing has way too much oversteer considering the lack of power, and I love it for it
Filman made a mod that stiffens automation export's chassis. Apparently it's something normal cars take advantage of but exports don't. I notice a huge difference in the shaking with vs. without the mod, it works for any export I've tried so far
Ok, I need to check that out. Thanks!
I appear to have missed an episode despite being subscribed - I did not see the C2 Stradale being produced. Such a unique and terrifying car. I kinda want one.
9:31 if takumi was alive in the 50's 😂
I'm not sure why, but I like the idea of Cisalpina being from the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. Switzerland is mostly known for banning motorsports for safety, and I feel like they have a lot of interesting automotive history that gets ignored because of it.
Your car control is amazing! You really had to fight with some of them out there.
if you have perfect balanced brakes, the moment you downshift it adds engine braking, so it's kind of like pulling on the handbrake :P
this was fun to watch
They line up relative to each other exactly how I'd expect. :D
I love that you were able to make the wheel arches movable with the front tires! It turned out amazing in beam. I can’t wait to be able to download all of these!!
Would love to see a 'car of the future' kind of build
Nice video keep it up can’t wait for the 1953 mm community challenge on a quick side node I made a 1998 fiat gt1 car for my hetvesian brand „sportzer“ in the designer an wrote: „powered by cisalpina“ on it and also added the name guido Antonelli to the driver names on the door Il let you make up the lore for it so that guido Antonelli maybe is his son or his nephew or something like that. Anyways great video you just made my day here
best automation content
I love the look of the montone that car is just a masterpiece and it looked so well balanced on the track. Love the video!
So much fun watching the cars evolve over the years and seeing the track times really shows that the company is moving in the right direction improving every year. Still waiting for Lorenzo to visit Gasmea and fall in love with stock cars and build a big nasty V8 and drop it in a full body sedan! Haha.
Great work though really enjoy your videos man.
This will never happen :D
It's been a long while since I've been so excited for a video that I've checked every single day for a new one
A setting i think is absolutely crucial on any driving sim is "look inside corners"
Beam should also do slip/drift compensation
I personally don't like it when the game decides for me where to look - I prefer a fixed view. But for immersion it is probably better, I agree!
I believe the latest update added a “drift” camera that works like how you describe here
i've been waiting for this empisode for soo long
I like cars 1, 4 and 6. Really cool!
Let's go! So excited to see this uploaded.
Your cars look so beautiful, you are an amazing car designer
amazing
When you're done with this campaign you should also try to make a restomod of Rivetto. Like, same car but with modern tires, modern motorcycle engine swapped in, etc. Could be really fun! Like a modern perspective on the very first model
I can't wait for Cisalpina to start experimenting with 6-cylinder engines. 4s and 8s are cool, but IMO a 6er is where it's at for 1100-1500kg cars. Also, WOW what a difference moving from live axle to IRS. I wonder if Automation exports live axles in proportionate weights for the vehicle or all similar weights. I know many of the geometries are the same, which is bad for its own reasons, but at the VERY least they should scale the weight correctly so it drives right.
Also, I love how the V8 Montone is like a little Shelby Cobra but even LESS controllable. And all with less than 200hp.
I love the Montone and wish it was real.
❤
subtitles be like: [Music][Applause] 🤣
Don't see anyone else mention this, but the 1000cc mille monti has 800cc on the plaque in the interior. Or is that intended?
Not intended - somebody must have mounted an old badge during assembly. That's authentic Cisalpina build quality :)
Something is shaking in the 750cc Rivetto (Lorenzo's last words)
After driving them all, as well as considering their comfort, fun-factor, sound, looks and place in history (thus far)... which one would you own, if you could only choose one? :)
Hm, good question! I'd probably go for a Rivetto 1100 for a nicely balanced drive or a Nuovavia for the looks!
Driving the rivetto 1100 on a race trought public roads must have been a handfull
Or the montone 2000
Porsche Cisitalia.
I would love to participate in a themed BeamNG race.
I also very much identified with the Cinghiale struggles. I have a rear-engine Porsche clone I was developing. It had a lot of engine inertia and long gears, so if I didn't manage engine braking, you were bound to spin.
Should remake the monotone 1100, and make it handle the same as the original one.
Speed.
What is it about the way you build cars in automation that makes your beam imports always have lights coming out the back? I don't remember that happening the last time I imported a car to beam (though it has been a long time, maybe this is just a normal thing now).
I really have no idea! Would love to find out!
I suspect it is something to do with the mirrors - mostly because I noticed similar light spots appearing on the sidewalls of the track when you got close to them that matched the shape of the wing mirrors
Why did you choose the automation track instead of the one you had been running on before? So that there's consistency with other campaigns you have done in order to compare car performance?
The Bridgehampton track was too bumpy to drive to cars nicely and didn't have a prepared time trial scenario. Also the Automation track will be better suited for faster cars in the future. Hoping that the company survives :) And the hillclimb was already top narrow and dangerous for the cars from the 60s, so it would have been frustrating for me quickly.
Oh never mind you explained it in the video.
So... Rivetto 1100 is Italian... Drift car?
You crashed a one-off car 3 times, i bet Lorenzo is not going to be happy
I love these cars but my wheel just shakes really bad when I drive them. Anyone have a fix for this perhaps in the tuning menu?
I turned my force feedback smoothing up almost all the way in the in-game settings
how did you get the wheel to animate in beam?
Basically I followed this ua-cam.com/video/sC4IgGvIoks/v-deo.htmlsi=354uqwMAkJXTzhOK
Could you talk about engine and mechanical specs of each car?
The details are in the previous episodes of this series :)
When will next episode come out? Cant wait much longer🙏🏻
I don't know yet - somewhere in between one and two weeks as usual!
You should take a look at Filman86's video about removing shakingness in Automation cars! He has mastered modding in beamng and it will probably be very helpful to you!
I wonder when someone will mod ellisbury into beam
No shit the f1 car failed goddamm
I built a whole car for your community event and I forgot to submit it 🥲 oh well. Very entertaining video, thanks for posting!
