Damn, I laughed my ass hard in the DOVAKIN scene uashusahusahsauhsau!! Loved the video, thank you very much for all the help!! HAIL TO THE KING, BABY!!! PS: I know you save too much XD!!
If it has gameplay changes it's not the definitive way to play. The definitive version of a game is the best original version of it. You play something like this when you're familiar enough with the original and you want to play it again but different. Even a mod with undeniable QoL changes (like dpad boots in OoTRedux), you should play the original first. A game is defined as much by it's flaws as it's successes.
I'm glad this mod keeps getting better and better, it gives me another reason to boot DN3D, and seeing those concepts and stuff from the betas come to life in the retail version is awesome. I do confess that I still believe the original with Eduke32 is the definitive way to play Duke 3D for new players but for everyone else who has played Duke 3D for years this might legitimately be the definitive version to re-experience everything that DN3D could've been but never was.
I tried this for the first time the day 2.0 released. Really solid "vanilla +" way to play Duke 3D in my opinion. It's a great time for me to play it as; I've finished Duke 3D many times, but haven't finished it in a few years. It's close enough to the original to set the same mood, but it's not so fresh in my mind that the changes are jarring or distracting. Good job to both you and Itsmarcolino123.
An excellent review! Although I don't like things like the new texture colours and the RPG nerf, I'll be using this mod more often to play custom maps as it has a lot to offer. I'm trying to finish Ep 3 as I'm writting this comment, so I'm eager to try Ep 4 and kick more alien asses haha. I hope Maros bring us World Tour to show how it's done!
Damn I wish I knew about this mod sooner. OG Duke is just too easy for me after all these years. Tried this on 'See You In Hell' difficulty and it's kicking my ass, I love it. Thanks a bunch!
Honestly I don’t mind the Red Light District track. Played it through Roch and Undertaker series. However you can always mute music and play a different mp3 in the background
The mod looks very interesting, but I'm not convinced by all the gameplay changes. If there were a way to get some of the enhancements, like smoother weapon animations, and there were toggleable features, like for using mirrored maps, but without all the various gameplay changes and new enemies (or maybe have enemies toggleable too) then I'd be tempted to give it a try. But for now I'll stick with the vanilla versions (I have Megaton, World Tour, eDuke32, and Raze all installed at present).
Stopped with the mods after playing that famous one that has the protagonist of "Ion Maiden" as a playable cnaracter, started act 3, crawled into the vents and aggro'd an Octobrain, and saw him clip through the vent in chase. I don't remember thr original having that, started to question the whole thing.
Much better than that half baked World Tour game where only the GG level is really good. Alien Armageddon, AMC TC and this proves that the fanbase always do better. Always bet on Duke fanbase 👍
Solid mod even if some little things need to be a bit more balanced imo. The musics remix are very good. The graphism/physic/violence are good but not as much as in kickass Duke mod.
Really you care about this caddish child? Which are responsible for failure of DN franchise, guy who was yelling at his workers because they wanted to give him some wise advices.

You can save the babes in Duke Nukem 64
That was the only official version to do so
i hope shadow warrior gets the treatment like this mod

I would love to see the beta shotgun get the smooth animation treatment.
Legacy 2.0 is what the 20 year edition could had been!

This looks so awesome! First time coming across this version of the game.
Best. Mod. Ever! It's still pretty much similar to the prototypes, and it's way better than the prototypes!
Honestly I don’t mind the Red Light District track. Played it through Roch and Undertaker series.

Does this work with the 20th anniversary edition?
About changes: I see that for devastator there are rockets on the right side for each shot, same for some other weapons.
Once again, cool mod. Best way to play Duke3D is with Eduke32 and vanilla gameplay, tho.
What's the benefit of Eduke32 though?

This mod looks far too chaotic.

Witch grp files do I need cause I tried the og file and the atomic file but they didn’t work
You could change the music in the original by pressing F5 and maybe Shift at the same time.
Amazing video,
I really wish the new boss fight was playable on any difficulty.
I love this mod!!!!!
hello Mr John! can you tell me what i should do to download legacy mode after i downloaded files from moddb and eduke32 emulator?
the mod comes with its own EDuke32 so you don't need to download the standalone version of Eduke32.
❤

Peace of cake for me haha
That's it, im sold on the mod
"Always bet on Duke!"
(Where can i download this amazing mod?)
True
I wonder if George Brousard plays any of these mods. I wish he would come out of hiding and start doing interviews,
