My best friend, brother and I, made a DooM TC in the mid-90s called “DooM and DooMer” I started working on two versions of a sequel, undecided on which way I wanted to go. One was using Duke3D, the other was Quake. While practicing, I did move over many DooM levels, including all enemy graphics, to Duke3D. So yeah, technically that was “DooM in Build Engine”, or at least a proof of concept. D&Dr is probably still online somewhere. I never uploaded the others.
Funny how been upset with the newer releases of Doom -2016 and Eternal which I find both retarded, I made some youtube videos called Doomb and Doomber. LOL.
There is GZDoom based port called Raze for Build engine games. For me it working much more stable than other ports. ua-cam.com/video/GT4mZUwuoXQ/v-deo.html
@@BluntEversmoke But the mod is about making everything in the game as close to build games as possible. And also strife was released later than duke nukem 3d.
Aw....this looks great and I'm sure is super fun, but I thought this was ACTUALLY in the Build engine with sector-over-sector capability (or even room-over-room!), sector effectors, and all that fancy stuff; the actual amenities of a Build engine game. But it's just made to look and behave more like Build. I can't say I'm not let down. Phooey.
I want to see it the other way round; the rendering of Build engine games always seemed less crisp than Doom to me, so it would be interesting to compare.
You mentioned "Duke Nukem 3D", "Shadow Warrior" and "BLOOD", but forgot to mention "Powerslave"; all four of these games were meant to be 3DRealms releases. But Blood and Powerslave went to other developers...
@edgardeitz5746 I know what you mean; I only mentioned Powerslave because it _and_ the three you mentioned were *all* intended to be 3DRealms games at one point.
Hmmm I love the idea but the mod looks like a mixed bag and I think that the design focus may have got lost during the making of the mod. The first problem, as I see it, is that the mod is not using the build engine but instead mimicking the feel of it using gzdoom. So, it's still the doom engine but with some behaviour changes. Replicating the feel of the build engine is probably near impossible to do completely. Secondly, the mod maker seems to have shifted from recreating the build feel to ramping up the difficulty of the game which is something that doom people seem to enjoy more. So that's going to reduce the build feel. I like the idea of this mod and will definitely give it a look but I would really like to see doom actually recreated entirely in the build engine. That's probably a really big undertaking, largely because no conversion tool exists (or can exist) to turn existing doom map files into build engine map files. Almost everything will have to be recreated from the ground up. That's a daunting task that I guess either no-one has ever wanted to do and no-one has thought of doing up to now.
@@shinefirex5185 No and I actually have the unpopular idea that Doom ended with Doom 2. Everything else is just Bethesda - IDSoft garbage that is using Doom's name. (yeah, you are asking why do I bother commenting then....it is because it is all fked up).
@@shinefirex5185 I agree that the Doom reboot is a great game it is just not a Doom game. Again just my 2 cents. It is not a retro shooter, it is a very modern game. Perhaps I'm too old. You have a nice day, I meant no disrespect.

can we talk about how cold some of the names for these wads are "Nobody told me about Id" is such a banger name.
matter of fact the name "Nobody Told Me About id" is also a name of a song in DOOM, in E2M8, so its even more cool when you think about it

This mod really went above and beyond, especially with the different movement styles. Also those FMV's are so cool!
Indeed
All I want now is all the DN3D redone in the Doom engine.
Could have been done back then with the modified ID engine used for Strife
Could have sworn that was done already, but maybe the Mandela effect. God we're old.
There's DN3DooM
@@ursus5868 Not the game redone.

Dont forget Doom rebuildt mod, where the doom 2 Maps are reimagined if them were from dn3d
3:00 this made me jump from my chair lol 😧
The revenants' ability to fly probably isn't because it was in doom eternal, but because some enemies in duke 3d had it.
Strife on a (modified?) Doom engine had mechs that could take off and land.

Hey I loved your Grabbag remix of duke3D, fun fact but your remix was used in the Legacy Edition mod of the game.
@@MrJohnReviews Ah that's nice to hear. :)
Now.i wanna see the levels were like Blood, Duke Nukem and Shadow Warrior
Interesting concept and great video.
That looks like a really cool mod!

What source port are you using in the video?
GZDoom
Would like to see it actually in Build engine.
Build to the Bone! Even Doom has to praise the Mighty Build Engine!
hmmm, now i will wait till decino does a playthrough with this mod
3:01 eeeeen
I freak out and though someone in the room was talking to me
You're definitely underrated dude!
Thanks man!
it would be great if there was some Readme file on how to actually run this, because I've had no luck so far
just use GZDoom and move the NTMAiD.pk file on the GZDoom aplication
@@MrJohnReviews aah ok, it's been a while that I tried to play old school games, thank you my friend!
Pump shotgun looks rough. But as a whole 👍
That BFG is an abomination. An inbred child of Doom's plasma gun, Duke Nukem 3D's shrinker, and Shadow Warrior's rocket launcher.
Build is capable of looking way better. I'm guessing they just learned the basics.
I need to see dark forces on this
can't sleep! yes sir!
Yesbody Told Me About id
I assume this was used to create the brutal doom mod because they look kinda similar except obviously brutal doom is well brutal compared to this
what the heck why did your pkutonia map 11 gamepkay look so pale...

Garbage. "Rip and Tear" was never a Doom thing. It was introduced by Bethesda to lure rtrds in. Doom is still Doom...or it is ZDoom.
