I’m glad you enjoyed it, it’s such a shame I couldn’t show the eggs in more detail. If only I have a microscope or something and not just a clip on macro lens! 😅 thanks for watching!
This is a little off topic ? But I had a 29 gallon community tank with a Betta, school of Zebra Danios & Neon Tetras plus Mystery Snails. I was surprised to see swimming frys totally unexpectedly ? I was cycling a larger 75 gallon for fish transfer/ stocking. I transferred fish and 8 Danio Frys survived and reachrd adulthood. I fed the swimming Danio frys Powdered Milk (unmixed) ?
Zebra danios spawn constantly, generally in the morning and with enough hiding places it’s not uncommon for fry almost just suddenly appear. So it’s awesome that you clearly had a diverse enough environment in your aquarium for the babies to do well. I would worry about the betta getting a little annoyed at the danios (and potentially their fins nipped) by their constant movement though. I guess it’s worked for you as it sounds like this has been a long established stocking and you’ve got a calm betta but they won’t all tolerate them so just be careful. I’ve never heard of powdered milk being used as a fry food but that’s awesome that it works the more options the better 👍🏼
They can and will breed in the community tanks but the danios are continuous spawners and constantly produce more eggs. It definitely helps if you can select females that look the most rotund as they’ll likely have the most eggs on that day but given they can spawn up to ~400 eggs from one female a week even one that has spawned a few days ago will likely still have enough for a hobbyist
I fed them a small powdered dry diet and rotifers from the yolk sac being used up. They started eating baby brine around 2 weeks in, it’s a bit too big initially for them.
I’m not sure they’re available easily, they are produced for zebra danio labs and I managed to pick this one up second hand. Sorry for not being much help
Very cool...zebra danios are sooooo underrated...great video 😊

Where can I get me some of them little breeding tanks?
I got mine second hand I don’t know where you would get them from new. Perhaps need to be custom made?
It's cheaper to make your own! It's not hard if you think about it. Wal-Mart or the dollar store has plenty of plastic tray.
Amazon and fish stores
Came here to say this!!
I’ve looked everywhere for years and can’t ever find them.

To start breeding can you select from community tank?or you need to separate the male and female for a while first?
They can be selected from the community tank, that’s what I did. People do separate them to try and maximise egg output but it’s not really needed
@ so during theyre in the community tank wont they breed?or you need to carefully choose female with eggs from the community tank?

What to feed as first food apart from egg yolk ??? Will baby brine shrimp work ?
