I found a lovely wrap skirt online about a year ago, bought the fabric, but when it came down to drafting the pattern, it just wasn't clear. This is very good and presented in a way even a beginner can understand. I'll be making this for a future trip!

I really like this, there are many possibilities that you can do with the wrap. Like for me I need the wrap a bit more, so wind cannot take it. I found this out the hard way. I had bought a wrap skirt and the wind took it wide open. Now an idea is making a wrap pant. I have to think about that. Thanks for the video! Love all of your videos so very much.

I too really like your wrap skirt version and bought some fabric that has a burnout pattern. This makes it quite see-through which won't be a problem for the front since it overlaps, but the back section will be. I thought I would add a lining piece for the back section only. The more I think about it, the more I wonder if that may alter how it hangs. Would i be better off just lining all of it? I would appreciate any helpful suggestions.

Okay, the one thing I didn't see in the video was where to place the belt. I tried centering it in the back, but that left one side too short, so I ended up centering it on one hip so it would wrap around enough to tie on the other hip. I would also recommend cutting the length of the belt twice the full width of the skirt plus 18" on each end for ties.

thanks ive been looking for how to measure for a wrap skirt. i had a 70s pattern made in 3 pieces that I loved and made several times. My waist is naturally smaller compared to my hips even when young and skinny so Id make in 3 pieces if you have fit issues or a baby tummy as I do now. also the waistband belt had a seam where you overlap so you left openings in that seam. Alway good direction to get real life measurements to patterns to fabric to real life clothing.
