I HATE THE SCREENS. In 5 years when all these screens inevitably start just failing, they're going to just total out the Hyundais and Kias and raise everybody else insurance.... too expensive and full of FAIL!
Here in Germany, a little crisis was just declared by our car companies. Basically, the electric cars VW, Audi, Opel, Merc... have been producing, aren't selling well. This results in mass lay offs in many factories all around the country.
The only reason companies are prioritizing ev is because they are cheaper to manufacture. a new ICE engine require extensive R&D, production capabilities, engineering and cost So they thought to focus on EV all together and pretend they are doing it for the sake of protection of environment or being 'carbon neutral' or 'earth freindly' which is all bullsh*t There are many manufacturing that are claiming that they are going carbon neutral or fully electric somewhere near 2030 or 2040 but they don't know how There will be demand of ICE engine in the future as complete electrification of automobile sector is near impossible as it is not practical and it's demand is Compertivly lower that ICE
They pay the price for being delusional. Also VW had some gal to charge extortionate prices for their IDs, when all in all EVs should be cheaper than ICE cars. VW's CEO should be fired.
@@GF-mf7ml yup, only reason they are selling ev is because they thought they are easier to manufacture, and doesn't require any intensive r&d and production capability like a ICE car does But they pretend that they are doing it for the sake of the environment and becoming 'carbon neutral' Or 'eco friendly' It is nothing but a hypocrisy
Fuck the IPad Dashboard, it made things even more Cheap, I'm talking about mercedes, and new cars just only plastered a iPad in the place of the more rugged dashboard, and also the Rotary and Button Gear Shift, like Holy fuck what are they smoking, I mean they're literally adding or changing something no one ever even needs and asked.
I love my 2021 mazda3 hatch, it's a manual with the dark red leather dash and seats, the front and rear lights are simple and look good, has real exhaust tips, no fake vents, clean cohesive design, looks so good with the OEM front and rear spoilers (and for upper trims you can drive with halo headlight rings during the day, which look sick with the turn signals and the dual ring taillights), the dash is very clean and simple with actual buttons for all controls, the screen ISNT touchscreen and isn't obtrusive (controlled with a knob in the center behind the shifter so it's easy to effortlessly access and all the knobs and buttons have good clicky feel, not the crappy plastic clicky feel most cheaper cars have, the screen is a perfect size that isn't obnoxiously big with a shape that suits the rest of the interior / design aesthetic, it's just such a good looking affordable car (and the manual transmission is so smooth and fun, the regular FWD version isn't the fastest but the manual has some good pep to it). I feel like it's among some of the best executed simplistic modern interiors that isn't filled to the brim with all kinds of nonsense tech especially in an affordable car that looks great and isn't reliant on the screen for controls. I've been obsessed with this car and owned it just over a year now.
One trend i absolutely HATE is split headlights, which is where the DRLs (Daytime running lights) are where the headlights normally would be, but the actual headlights would be below the DRLs, almost every car with the design looks horrible and are mostly SUVs, cars like the BMW X7 & XM, Hyundai Kona & Santa Fa and any new Mitsubishi. Those are some of the worst ones i can think of. Ugly.
I was trying to buy a new car that wasn't white, grey, or black and I physically couldn't. There were other colours, but they just didn't seem to make that many in one of those colours, so I had to settle with white.
@@viceonafridaynightlooking into any parking lot these days is just a sea of monochrome shades, and a few mild reds and dark blues. This isn't because these are the colors people ask for but because they're "safe" sellers on a lot. They can use this to take friction out of up-selling you or to keep their slow sellers moving.
EV's have never been about "saving the environment". Producing them create massive ammounts of CO² and the longevity and the quality of their materials are questionable. Modern cars in general. An old Volvo or Merc Diesel which go 500k miles before giving up will be way more sustainable because they last.

The only gray car that I i've liked is the one that I currently have and it's because the paint job is Matte so it looks different then everything else on the road

Most Luxury car interiors are abysmal these days, and that is not me being extreme . BMW and Mercedes are notorious right now for this, a very simplistic dashboard design with absolutely no ruggedness or style, just minimalist design with a huge screen right in the middle. It denotes the definition of soulless and the antithesis of luxury. Too much emphasis are being put on these screens. I never cared nor will care for Apple Auto or any other phone connectivity in the car. Driving should be an experience and constantly being pre-occupied with screens and LEDs are childish. The bright colors I have never liked even when I was a kid, I've always preferred mature and serious dark colors, Burgandy, Rubilite or Dark Coffee. Split headlights is another on the list. Very ugly. I first saw this on the X7 and XM. A minor one but BMW also did away with it's iconic start-up sound, now their newer models from 2024 on-ward, their startup doesn't evoke a feeling of luxury but of simplicity.
controversial opinion: I would rather see classic sports cars come back as hybrids or even full electric than see them gone forever. a hybrid Celica is better than no Celica.
Hybrid and electric cars polute and harm the environment even more than gasoline ones, and by a lot, they'll also last less as batteries die faster than an engine and no one is going to recycle most of them. Mining and refining of the necessary components for a battery already polluted what the car would have polluted throughout its entire lifespan. Definitely the dumbest car trend. Also the dumb trend of bigger and heavier, not cars, but stupidly large SUVs and pickups that are now going electric, killing those batteries even faster.
The real take here is that the vast majority of people in this comments section, or folks who watch videos like this, *are not* the average new car buyer. The vast majority of buyers are 50+ years old, married, dual-income, living in a single-family home, with well over $120,000/yr household income. The overlap for potential customers in the market for a Nissan Sentra and a Porsche Taycan is way more than you would probably assume. Anywho, your take about hybrids and EVs is patently false. Prius has been out for almost three decades and we have ample data on how they hold up. Batteries often outlast the lifecycle of the vehicle, and engine components tend to wear quicker and fail earlier than any electric drive component. For a more extreme case, see any Escape or C-Max Hybrid being used as a taxi in NYC that racks up over 500,000 miles, with engine components failing well before the battery starts to show noticeable wear. You have no evidence to back up your claim about the mining and refining of hybrid batteries polluting more than a gas car would "through its entire lifespan." That is just a boldfaced lie. Heavier vehicles are because of a number of factors, from higher safety standards, the requirement of robust ADAS systems and the sensors that go along with it, to cost constraints and vehicle size. EVs with large physical footprints and large batteries are engineered to handle the increased supply of voltage when charging, when discharging, and being pushed hard. While what I am about to say is condescending, it doesn't make it any less true: *You do not know more than the engineer who spent hundreds of hours with their team making certain that their design would work.* Another thing, you are aware manufacturers have to warranty their products, right? They have to guarantee for a certain lifespan of that vehicle that every component will work as intended and is extremely unlikely to fail (we're talking
