The Huayra ended with 830 HP with its last BC Tri-Colore editions with even more TQ, the lack of a DCT was purposeful as to save weight I mean COME ONE that was the point. First take is null and void here given that all that was overlooked.
@@samueljones3668 I literally mentioned all of that. Doesn’t change the fact that it’s a mercedes drivetrain from 2 decades ago. So what if it does 230mph? It’s not like that’s a feat in that price range. The veyron and others did that more than a decade ago but if the jesko and the tourbillion used the same drivetrain as back then they’d low key be disappointing. The only company who ppl let that shit slide with is pagani. If the goal was to save weight they could have gone with a manual like ppl actually wanted and they clearly realized that with the new pagani utopia. Weight savings is low key an excuse to not have to develop or source a new transmission because a single clutch semi auto in a 7 figure car in the past 5 years or so is unacceptable. I’ve never driven a single clutch car where the driving experience hasn’t been ruined by how terrible the gear shifts actually feel. You could buy a car with all the performance in the world, but if the driving experience is not actually as good as it could be given the technology that’s available at the time, why is it worth 1.4 million dollars? Why is an engine and transmission that’s also available in really cheap used mercs still worthy of being in such a car nowadays?
@@Vincetagram Me when I spread misinformation. You do realize the Huayra launched in 2013 the engine it used was new WHEN IT LAUNCHED, like are you forgetting that ? "Two decade engine", you also mean Bugatti with the W16 repurposed and Konigsegg with the Agera V8 reused and retuned in the Jesko. If it isn't broke WHY FIX IT ? Why is an engine that has ridiculously engineered from the get go that has diesel torque AN ISSUE regardless of its age. And who is "people wanted" our broke asses ? The car was waitlisted its entire life cycle, clearly the ones who are the target market DID NOT CARE, and whats ironic is that the Utopia comes both Automated Manual and Traditional and as of the registry keeping track MOST ARE AUTO I wonder WHY, "people wanted is crazy" we aren't the target market the closest we are gonna see these cars are in Forza or a Cars and Coffee. Pagani's demand that price just in material cost alone, who tf else makes cars out of Carbo-tanium, individual artpieces that can function with obscene performance that weigh less than a Ford Focus, Bugatti is cool but that is just straight corporate might flexing on the industry there is no soul behind Bugatti no matter how much they want use to believe that. Pagani does not get a pass because of pretty privilege, it has stats to back up a majority of its claims, that Top Gear episode of it shitting on everything that launched at the time solidified its standing. Even if owners are afraid to push them, who cares the company earned its reputation with its cars.
@@samueljones3668 oh wow, it does have it’s own engine. I stand corrected on that and that only. The people who want manual are the owners. The pagani registry? I think bell delphine’s bath water sold out too along with every other car where they only make 100 of them. @Vincetagram so take a car from 1935 with little work, it will drive. Take a new electric car. After 8 year the battery is done. The car will never run. The battery cost 40K. So which car is more reliable for the long run? Which is more sustainable?

Archaic ? The Huayra can pelt up to 230 mph. Horsepower means shit if you can't do anything with it, The car has the same amount of HP as it does TQ. The hell kinda take is that ?
@@Vincetagram
Me when I spread misinformation.
You do realize the Huayra launched in 2013 the engine it used was new WHEN IT LAUNCHED, like are you forgetting that ? The engine it has is bespoke to THE HUAYRA AND UTOPIA, the M158 is not shared in ANY MERCEDES or did you just missed that fact.
Please don’t tell me you’re talking about an instagram account? Pagani themselves say 70% of utopia orders are manual. No soul behind bugatti? That N/A V16 exhaust note still sounds much better than a twin turbo v12 and that’s half the battle when it comes to soul imo. None of this changes my stance on the single clutch semi-auto transmission and saying people WANTED that because it sold out is a terrible means of justifying something lol. I think bell delphine’s bath water sold out too along with every other car where they only make 100 of them. There’s a reason they brought the manual back and most of their customers went for it, there’s a reason koenigsegg tried to simulate a manual transmission in the cc850, there’s a reason the GMA T.50 is only sold with a manual and it’s not because people like you and me, who can’t afford it said single clutch semi-auto’s suck. It’s because people 1000x richer than you and me combined agree. The only people saying they’re good are people who drive 2000s lambos and aventador sympathizers…and that’s gotta be the worst one.

Gonna have to argue withe the first pick, don't see how it's an archaic engine if does the business.
not saying 700hp is inadequate, but other cars in the same price range are pushing boundaries in engineering and pushing twice as much hp while sounding better. Also, I was moreso criticizing the drivetrain as a whole, because the single clutch single auto absolutely does not do business. It's a unit that mercedes ditched a long time ago and there's a reason they went back to manuals only with the pagani utopia. Like the aventador, it's one of those cars I'm surprised never got a dual clutch.
@@Vincetagram why they didn't go with a dual clutch I have no clue other than the fact it saved them 70> kg, as for Mercedes ditching the engine, they are quite trigger happy when it comes to ditching larger engines, ie the n/a v8 in the c63.
When it comes to power ere are the stats.
Mclaren P1: kerb weight 1490 kg,

power to weight 487 bhp no EV, and 606 with full power from the hybrid.

New cars are more reliable? 🤣 good joke
@@gregkollaeg2365 so you’re telling me you seriously think a 1935 suburban is going to go for more miles than a new one? I’m actually willing to bet every last dollar that a c2 vette is going to overheat in traffic before a c8, and I don’t even want to know about high end italian car issues from the 2000s and earlier lol. Nowadays we have lambos that will go 150k miles with regular maintenance. Cars of old were more likely to overheat, parts showed wear more quickly, and structural components were harder to replace. Go ahead and mention the fact that an 80s toyota pickup truck is bulletproof proof but in most cases cars nowadays are safer and more reliable. The parts that are prone to breaking are new electrical components but the drivetrain and supporting parts are usually more solid. If older cars were more reliable then you would still see them on the road being driven on a daily basis.
@Vincetagram so take a car from 1935 with little work, it will drive. Take a new electric car. After 8 year the battery is done. The car will never run. The battery cost 40K. So which car is more reliable for the long run? Which is more sustainable?
@@gregkollaeg2365 crazy cause everyone I know with a 1930s-80s car that isn’t a toyota always has their car in the shop, somethings always broken, or it isn’t ready to hit the road yet…..after years of work lol. Classic car guys love to say cars were much more simple back then but never seem to have their cars running and don’t daily drive classic cars. Electric cars are another thing but as for the vast majority of the modern car market, combustion engine cars are more reliable today than they were decades ago and I’m willing to bet that statistics show it.
