Good plan. I own a new Outlander PHEV and they are perfect for markets with limited EV charging infrastructure, such as here in Australia. I think these markets are where Mitsubishi should really push their PHEV technology. As a family which often does long trips into rural areas, it's good to have an SUV but Mitsubishi really do need other options. I know it's difficult to make PHEV's work for smaller cars but i feel like Mitsubishi might be able to manage it for a future vehicle

@@MichaelJoseph153 well, for a car like that you could also try to expand to european markets too, GM has needed to be more present in Europe anyways since they sold Opel and Vauxhall. Exactly, the malibu is really Chevy's last car and they are about to discontinue that too. despite it's sales being good considering they have a crappy drivetrain and the current generation is about to be 10 years old. The must hate us or something.
Everyone keeps saying Acura is flopping, but I read the other day that the MDX is the best selling luxury SUV in America. I see them EVERYWHERE and my parents still have their 2003 MDX they bought brand new. Idk but I think they’ll be fine honestly. They should probably make a few more sports cars since they seem to brand themselves as a performance brand. But I’m honestly not really worried about their wellbeing esp. compared to the other brands in this video
Honestly my idea was for Chrysler to make 3 new cars, a compact car called a Chrysler 100, then a midsize 200, then a fullsize 300, then a suv, maybe use the Patriot name since Chrysler likes to reuse names from their brands like the Chrysler voyager.
The Wagoneer could've been a Chrysler model but it seems everyone wants a car with Jeep on the front. So they're kinda screwed because any car that they could make would probably sell better as a Jeep, unless it's a sedan, which nobody buys from American companies anyway.
lexus is miles ahead of Acura. Acura is just too much Honda for the price. People act surprised when they realize toyota designs lexus’s because of the distinct differences edit: 7:36 you just had to bring it up didn’t you
Lincoln: I dont particularly see them ever making a sports sedan really. And who knows how logistics, where its made, and regulations, whats under the hood would affect it. Even if they made the most perfect even reliable sports sedan. It would be a up hill battle in a shrinking segment. I always wondered if making a Lincoln Mustang would work. You have the platform and powertrains. Just maybe make it a grand tourer. I could see it being a halo car for the brand. It would get people talking. But it certainly wouldn't save the brand. If they want to market towards younger buyers they would definitely need some sort of sporty car and maybe a CUV. Idk maybe use the Bronco Sport to make a premium offroady looking CUV. I dont believe that really exists in the US. The Lexus, Mercedes, BMW, etc competitors all looks curvey and bubbly. Again not saying any of this would actually do much for them Acura: Always thought the demographic was middle age women. Their sedans look awesome. You use Lexus as a example of luxury sports cars. But lexus cars dont particularly sell that well. The RC is one of the slowest selling cars in the US, the GS was killed, and the ES is nice but is basically a Camry. If you want a sports car brand then the TLX would need a completely different platform than other Hondas. I dont really see what they could do to interest folks. Mitsubishi: I think a boxy body on frame SUV competitor to 4Runner and a midsize truck would be a start. I dont particularly see the Lancer or any other "car" really being a huge seller they need. Chrysler: First make something Be more reliable I think they could maybe sit above the mainstream brand a little bit. Like Buick. I would make a compact CUV and a midsize CUV. Maybe use the Aspen name on one of those. I personally only ever see Chrysler 200s broke down. And when the 200 and Dart were out they lost the company a lot of money. So the logistics of making a smaller sedan is very much agaisnt them. The Hemi should come back but with how Stellantis has the company set up, I dont think they have enough emission wiggle room to allow a new Hemi V8 like Ford has a V8.
lincoln has never necessarily been a sporty company. sure they had the mark 7 and 8, but compared to like cadillac (especially nowadays) lincoln is less sporty luxury (like bmw, mercedes or cadillac), and they're more known for their rolling barges and sofas on wheels. i'm not sure how commercially successful it'd be, but it'd be awesome to see lincoln return to a more comfy, land ship, rolling sofa esque type of luxury. the problem is, it probably won't be as commercially successful as sporty luxury sedans seem to be very popular right now. while a lincoln mustang would be neat, it's definitely a lot more complicated than that, and i think something like a successor to the lincoln mark series would be awesome
Lincoln was the sporty luxury car company, before the sports sedan was ever a thing in Germany. The Mark3 was light and nimble, but the 72 Continental was and is still a handling beast. Sure, its a big car, 20 ft long, but it was wide. The widest track car made up until that point (and probably is still the widest track, excluding dually trucks). They were top speed machines. I hit 144 in mine, at its a 50 year old car. I was doing around 4000rpm, and still had some room until themax 4400 the 460 was rated for. BUT, the funny thing, the limiting factor was not the valve train. It was the dizzy. So, swap out for a performance dizzy, hotter spark, and they will do 150. In 72, that was unheard of. THen 73 came, and the emissions, bigger bumpers, added 300lbs (grand scheme, 5200 to 5500, sure not much but enough) and they made the suspension very boaty and soft. 72 was firm and quiet, with somehow tight steering you could move with your pinky. But you felt the road. Check out old movies, and see what these cars were capable of doing, hanging with a Camaro or Trans Am in turns isnt easy... But even with the changes from sporty to floating coach, at least they leaned into that and made the comfiest thing even by 79, and kept on comfyfying them until 2011 (though some last gen TCs had the sports handling pckg, and they will shock you). But, we had to sell to wine moms lol.Theyre website has pictures of fancy food, private jets, excotic hotel rooms...sans any car. wth lol?
@@literaldirt Yeah I just said a Lincoln Mustang because it's a platform already there and I assume would be much simpler to try and use than say, any of the other Ford/Lincoln sedans overseas that aren't made in North America at all. If I was to do it I would just make it luxury pony car basically. Just a lot of power in a straight line and very comfortable. Being a coupe would get a lot of attention. I would imagine at the very least it would be a attractive car. They could either aim it towards younger buyers, but even then the current Mustang is so expensive and only aimed at older wealthier buyers. So a even more premium Lincoln variant probably wouldn't work if aimed at a cheaper price point for younger people. So it would probably be a 70-80k car if they did make think about it.
I'm pretty sure that Acura is supposed to be the performance division of Honda, but they do seem a lot more like a luxury brand. Their logo is actually a caliper, representing precision. It's not all that strange that people think their more of a luxury brand than a performance brand though.
Acura is really weird, because on the racing side of things. They ARE the performance division of honda. But on the street side they are luxury. And as a result they only get halfway between each. I love acura, but i think they are very confused.
Right now I think the move for most companies would be to make cheaper cars. People have less disposable income nowadays and are keeping their cars longer. The best way to capitalize on this is to have a sub $30,000 car that's inexpensive but still quality. It doesn't need the latest and greatest information systems, it just needs to be dependable. But a good company will also need more desirable cars to draw people into the brand.
I agree. The only issue is that Honda and Toyota (and to a lesser extent, Nissan) dominate that market. Their reputation of reliability far outranks anything the American brands put out. Even in the cases where an American car is in fact more reliable, it’s often more about the perception of dependability when it comes to people actually buying the cars.
I think Lincoln should DEFINITELY bring back the Town Car in both short and long wheelbase to rival the F-segment sedans like the Mercedes S-Class, Lexus LS, BMW 7-Series and Genesis G90, but still use the old Panther Platform Body-On-Frame chassis, but also modernize it. The Town Car would have a ROOMY Backseat and on long wheelbase models, incorporate picnic tables in the rear like a Rolls-Royce, and also have Rear Screens and Infotainment. The Signature Package Lincoln Town Car will be 4-Seater models, and have a rear center console with a refrigerator and AV inputs in place of the standard middle seat. And the Continental would be their E-segment Sedan, competing with the Lexus ES, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series, and Genesis G80. Ford should also bring back the Crown Victoria as well, using the same modernized Panther Platform. The Next-Gen Town Cars would Come in both short and long wheelbases, and all the Next-Gen Crown Victorias would only come in the short wheelbase.
Simple answer balance, SUV 2 model, hatch maybe 1, sedan 1 fwd 1 rwd with awd optional, SUV fwd, awd and body on frame rwd & 4x4, pickup who give a f about unibody 2 version rwd & 4x4. Just like Toyota for everyone.
Man Mitsubishi Once a strong brand with cars like lancer and Pajero selling like hotcake and making cool cars like the "GTO", I don't know how they fumble so bad that they only primarily focus on the Asian Market, cause that's the only big market they have, they still sell Pajero although with the name pajero sport but it's a good suv, but yeah I don't think mitsubishi will bring new cars on their lineup in US because nissan doesn't allow them to (Nissan still owns 34% of mitsubishi) and because there is that stupid chicken tax where you need to assemble cars in us to be exempted which mitsubishi doesn't have a single Car factory in the US. But I heard rumor that they registered trademark for montero in the US which is the other name the Pajero used. So there might be hope, though I don't think the lancer will come back anytime soon😢.
Chrysler needs to do what Cadillac has been doing and sell upscale EVs and Land Yachts. The Grand Wagoneer needs to be treated like the Jeep it is while Chrysler could provide the Luxurious road train variant to actually rival Range Rover, Cadillac, and Mercedes. Also bring back the Imperial nameplate as a spin off to compete with Bentley, Rolls Royce, and Maybach to help elevate the brand's reputation beyond last resort airport rental cars and repo shootouts.
0:48 Lincoln LS. 3.9l jag v8 in a luxury sedan. Awesome car. And super cheap rn too. Buy one and keep it in good condition and I guarantee the price will go up
I got a 23 Acura MDX, I’m in Canada. Acura is doing pretty well here, it beats Lexus on price while being as close as it can be in reliability while making some good looking cars. It’s pretty popular here. Definitely see more MDX’s than RX 350’s (talking about post 2022 generations)
Mitsubishi really needs to make sports cars again, their brand image has just been at rock bottom since they killed the Evo. either that or make a big splash in motorsports again
Lincoln: make a halo brand. V10 coupe and large V10 sedan. Entry level luxury should be a Ford in Ghia trim. Acura: middle class luxury. Small cars sourced from abroad and larger ones made to US tastes. Simple pricing and attainable. Chrysler: American segment king. Vehicles that the US does better. Minivans, V8 sedans, and convertibles with a usable rear seat. Mitsubishi: probably will go the way of Suzuki, but part of the problem is being a write-off on the parent company’s spreadsheet. I say be hungry and make a compelling enthusiast car with no guarantee of surviving.
I'm a millennial and I can't tell how much I want an Acura Integra. I've just always seen Aura and the nicer Honda, and there's already a lot to like about Honda
How to fix Lincoln: Better marketing. They need to make a performance car that competes with the Cadillac CT4, CT5, and call it the Lincoln Mark 9. Make a supercharged performance version of the Navigator called the Navigator SVT, that can compete with the Escalade V.
The problem with acuras is that they're way too similar to their honda counterparts and they didn't establish their themselves as an aspirational brand when they had the chance. Lexus established their reputation in early 90s with products that caught the competition completely offguard. Meanwhile acura was putting leather seats on civics and calling it a new car. They do have that sporty brand image but after the 90s they never made cars that really offered any bang for buck performance wise.
For me it sucks to see chrysler in the state its in as i grew up with a town and county minivan and it was a beast. The electrical problems would get to it though. Had alot of memories with that thing.
I also think Chrysler (or Stellantis) should bring back the DeSoto Brand as a TRUE Luxury Brand to rival Cadillac and Lincoln, with higher quality materials and finishes than Chrysler.
Congrats on 1,000 subs. Enjoy the vids, don't need to do self-deprecating humor. Essays speak for themselves. I also am amazed Lincoln still exists, but I have no idea why they're even trying in a world where $50,000 is the entry now for average family SUV. Acura is a waste of time, just buy a Honda. Nowadays the prices and quality are exactly the same. I challenge you to show me the difference between a civic sport and an integra, aside from the price? Wait, they're both in the 30s. Mitsubishi is dead. Forget it. Done. No saving. I weep at the death of Dodge. I loved my Challenger, it was amazing, loud, and fun! Stellantis is the result of what happens when you sell you American muscle brand to communists. Keep up the good work, Vice.
Didn't Buick try completely changing its marketing and went towards millennial in the mid 2010s? The whole "I can't believe it's a Buick" thing. They changed all their cars to their nicer-looking Vauxhall/Opel European counterparts like the Insignia/Regal TourX. But their interiors sucked. And the marketing still failed. So how will Lincoln do a good job about changing their market?
How would fix Nissan: 1) Get rid of that goddamned CVT from all their vehicles 2) Bring back the Maxima, but make the car RWD/AWD. Also, make a special edition version that has the GT-R engine. 3) Bring back the 240 SX 4) Make an Infiniti luxury sedan that can rival the Lexus LS/Mercedes S-Class/BMW 7 Series
Stellantis is basically just PSA being overambitious. They're more focused on their European brands, I'd wager their present trans-Atlantic caution is in some part due to Peugeot's own business history with America, among other more pertinent reasons
speaking as a 22 yearold, I love current Lincoln styling. Its clean, but shove a v8 in it, it be fun *the aviator I mean, but overall I most love the classics, the LS V8, and that 2013 MKZ when they got the winged grill right.
Love the optimism….. Chryslers 2.7 v6 should be illegal how bad it is. And Mitsubishi only needs 3 models in the u.s. bring back all trims of the lancer, give us back the original 2 door sports car eclipse with awd, and the outlander in all trims.
6:18 I have a theory that chrysler is not trying to even be a car brand anymore. It started out as a company that just buys other companies. I think Stellantis owning all the encompassing brands now just means that crystlee has even less reason to sell vehicles. Dodge/Ram, Alpha, Cadillac.. they can just produce amazing vehicles within any of those brands. I feel like that is just lowkey where they are headed. Chrysler just happens to have a market for the Pacifica so they still make it. (I agree though, they should make a sexy sports luxury car again) but they can just produce an amazing car within any of their brands that has Chrysler’s dna in it.
Mitsubishi is one of the four rugged kings of Southeast Asia --- Toyota, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Isuzu They sell so well because all they sell is what Southeast Asians need --- lots of space for people and cargo, utilitarian driving mech that focuses on adaptability over pure speed, and Japanese reputation. That's it. Southeast Asians think differently and face different daily realities compared to Europe and North America.
Lincoln is still great, they just need to sell the chinese zephyr in USA and make more sedans/sportcars, same with Ford. (bring back crown vic and taurus and don't ruin them like the so called Capri revival On the topic of Ford, who are the morons they hire to name their cars, these are the naming improvements they need: - Mustang Mach-E ______Mach-E (obvious) - (Phillipines) Territory __Equator Sport (an insult to the Australian Ford Territory) - Capri _________________Freestyle or something other than Capri (obvious) - Freestyle______________Figo X or Figo Cross (looks just like a ballooned Figo) - (India) Endeavour_____Everest - (UK) Explorer EV______Anything other than that (it looks nothing like an Explorer) - Ford Kuga/Edge______Just stick to 1 name (Kuga or Edge, make up your mind) - All Police Responders_Police Interceptor (simpler and less confusion to LE agencies)
Honda took acura out of the luxury sector because they do so poorly and they have been repositioned to be the sports brand for honda. They're a premium sports brand but...yea they're lost asf now
Mitsubishi should revive the Lancer and the Eclipse for sure. Lincoln should cater to a more younger demographic and bring back their sedans too, including Chevrolet and Ford. The Chrysler Pacifica actually started off as an SUV back then, but converted into a minivan. Perhaps Chrysler could come up with a new sedan and a new SUV. Not included in the video, but Tesla should work on EVERYTHING wrong with them, rather than selling their cars and Cybertruck as a cosmetic/fashion products on wheels.

Congrats on passing 1k. Youll do ok. I said it before, booming out, that there is faith for car culture with the zoomers (I assume. I dont generalize by generation too much...but boomer and millenials make me break that rule a lot, but at least boomers had some nice taste in cars where millenials....) I did a whole thing on why Lincoln will die. They marketed towards women, and only women. Lincolns were a mans car. Big sedans. Big coupes (coupay. They always had the accent lol, and doors bigger than some cars today). I did a video like this, with a detailed lineup for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep (no Ram, theyre Dodges ffs) and bringing back Plymouth. Imagine a Scat Pack, with rollup windows, basic interior, no sound proofing, no touch screen, just a 6.4. And manuals in Chargers too...and wagons. Manual Hemi wagon....ooof that would sell or be stolen. Either way, theyd be all over the place lol. Glad I found your channel. Keep it up.
Too many damn SUVs… I don’t really care about EVs in terms of them being here or not. I actually like them even though they need more development. What I’m really irritated about is car companies making a SUV orgy!
i think one major way to fix car brands is to stop shoving overpriced SUV's and EV's down everyone's throats. there just isn't a demand for EV's here in the US for actual profit... not to mention all the issues with EV's, and also SUV's are just too expensive. just make what people want, or atleast expect from the company. Like take Dodge for example. people like dodge cause of the HEMI. so why they can't at the very least put the 5.7L HEMI in the new charger, it shouldn't be that hard. that engine has so much untapped potential or toyota, atleast toyota was willing to make changes with the new supra. people said it was underpowered, so they added more power. people wanted a version with a manual transmission, so they made a version with a stick. in this day and age of the internet giving everyone the ability to have their voices heard, it shouldn't be hard to know what your consumers want

5: Make a new compact fwd sedan, call it the Monza, Chevy need sedans.
@@MichaelJoseph153 well, for a car like that you could also try to expand to european markets too, GM has needed to be more present in Europe anyways since they sold Opel and Vauxhall.
Plus, I know plenty of people who would love to buy a cheap, compact sedan and hatchback in the US, but cars like that just don't exist anymore.
Exactly, the malibu is really Chevy's last car and they are about to discontinue that too. despite it's sales being good considering they have a crappy drivetrain and the current generation is about to be 10 years old. The must hate us or something.
they need to make a four door Camaro and call it the Impala.

The craziest part is, is that Cadillac is the only American car company that makes a sedan in 2024. That is crazy to think about.
The MDX is doing pretty well, and the Integra isn't doing too bad
The TLX AND RDX however
Honestly my idea was for Chrysler to make 3 new cars, a compact car called a Chrysler 100, then a midsize 200, then a fullsize 300, then a suv, maybe use the Patriot name since Chrysler likes to reuse names from their brands like the Chrysler voyager.
The Wagoneer could've been a Chrysler model but it seems everyone wants a car with Jeep on the front. So they're kinda screwed because any car that they could make would probably sell better as a Jeep, unless it's a sedan, which nobody buys from American companies anyway.
The SUV could be named the Aspen. And I think Chrysler needs a halo car like some sort of sports car.
@@mrgurulittle7000 right I completely forgot about the Aspen
I still don’t understand why the Jeep wagoneer models aren’t Chryslers… I know Jeep is the more popular brand these days but still
lexus is miles ahead of Acura. Acura is just too much Honda for the price. People act surprised when they realize toyota designs lexus’s because of the distinct differences edit: 7:36 you just had to bring it up didn’t you
Lincoln:
I dont particularly see them ever making a sports sedan really.
Again not saying any of this would actually do much for them
Acura:
Always thought the demographic was middle age women.
Mitsubishi:
I think a boxy body on frame SUV competitor to 4Runner and a midsize truck would be a start.
I dont particularly see the Lancer or any other "car" really being a huge seller they need.
Chrysler:
First make something
Be more reliable
I think they could maybe sit above the mainstream brand a little bit.
So it would probably be a 70-80k car if they did make think about it.
acura needs less suvs more sedan and coupe
that doesnt sell look at the tlx and integra

If chrysler brought out a next gen 300 on the charger platform that could be a start
4:24 wow no Pajero,No lancer, no Cedia only Outlander survived
I loved the Integra from Acura 94-01 only
New Integra isn’t that bad to me honestly. Apparently nobody bought them tho
My mom had a maroon stick shift Acura Integra in the 90s and tells me how much she loved that car.
I admit, this was a well put together video, subscribed:)
How to fix Lincoln:
Better marketing.
I feel like if Mitsubishi sold the Pajero Sport in the US that it would do really well.
Those Chrysler minivans are having block issues. I like them but, they have issues.

How would fix Nissan:
1) Get rid of that goddamned CVT from all their vehicles
2) Bring back the Maxima, but make the car RWD/AWD. Also, make a special edition version that has the GT-R engine.
3) Bring back the 240 SX
4) Make an Infiniti luxury sedan that can rival the Lexus LS/Mercedes S-Class/BMW 7 Series
Stellantis is basically just PSA being overambitious. They're more focused on their European brands, I'd wager their present trans-Atlantic caution is in some part due to Peugeot's own business history with America, among other more pertinent reasons
3 out of 4 vehicles sold here in Austria by Mitsubishi are rebadged Renaults. Why would I buy an outdated clio?
speaking as a 22 yearold, I love current Lincoln styling. Its clean, but shove a v8 in it, it be fun *the aviator I mean, but overall I most love the classics, the LS V8, and that 2013 MKZ when they got the winged grill right.
Mitsubishi definitely needs to make cooler looking cars.
Guys he said he’s humble, let’s praise him (jokes aside I hope Mitsubishi doesn’t die the lancer evo looks fire)
Chrysler should take Jeep’s Wagoneer, make it look smoother, add plush seats, hybrid engine and sell for $10k less
Mitsubishi is one of the four rugged kings of Southeast Asia --- Toyota, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Isuzu
They sell so well because all they sell is what Southeast Asians need --- lots of space for people and cargo, utilitarian driving mech that focuses on adaptability over pure speed, and Japanese reputation. That's it. Southeast Asians think differently and face different daily realities compared to Europe and North America.

I did a whole thing on why Lincoln will die. Either way, theyd be all over the place lol.

i think one major way to fix car brands is to stop shoving overpriced SUV's and EV's down everyone's throats. there just isn't a demand for EV's here in the US for actual profit... not to mention all the issues with EV's, and also SUV's are just too expensive. just make what people want, or atleast expect from the company.
Like take Dodge for example. people like dodge cause of the HEMI. so why they can't at the very least put the 5.7L HEMI in the new charger, it shouldn't be that hard. that engine has so much untapped potential
or toyota, atleast toyota was willing to make changes with the new supra. people said it was underpowered, so they added more power. people wanted a version with a manual transmission, so they made a version with a stick.
in this day and age of the internet giving everyone the ability to have their voices heard, it shouldn't be hard to know what your consumers want
