Suzanne Balenko I hope I'm like you when I'm older. I don't think I can ever stop loving makeup. Your comment made me smile. Oh, my grandma still wears a bit of lipstick and mascara, too. Self care is important at all ages.
I have been loving your series Marnie on tips and tricks, how to apply whatever!!! Who cares if you don't have the title "professional " you've been at this long enough and are certainly practiced enough to know what works and what doesn't !!! Seriously love you!💗🌷💗
I have boycotted the highlight trend so far. Highlighted cheeks, lips, noses, chins it's all too much for me. This video has inspired me to dip my toe in the game. Thanks for pointing out there are options you can't see from space:)
hi!! love your videos! I am about to be 43 and have "mature skin" and I hate it but can't fight it ! embracing it lol. but this video is great been having trouble with my highlighter, I love wearing them but not applying correctly and my fine lines were so emphasized , hated that. but yeah def try your technique . again love your videos and YOU!!! THANKS FOR THE VIDEO! !♡♡♡♡
Women of any age can wear highlighter. You just need the right color and formula. I am over 50 and I love the cream Clinique highlight stick. No fuss for me. 🌺💕
Ooh thanks Marnie, I will definitely try the ' highlighter before blush' application, it sounds so simple but I think it will work a lot better for me . Xx
Your highlighter always looks perfect. Us dry skinned gals certainly need it to give us a healthy glow. I do mine the same way you do yours. I watch one you tuber who I absolutely love but she has very oily skin and she puts pounds and pounds of highlighter on. She does her nose and everything and looks oily as soon as she's done. So after a couple hours when her natural oils start showing you can imagine how greasy and shiny and she looks!😱 I just keep my big mouth shut though cuz she's doing her. 😂
My (Light, Mac NC20 skin) all time fave highlighters are Jouer Rose Quartz and Citrine. They are talk free (non drying) and gorgeous! I think Cream and liquid highlighters work really well on dry, more mature skin too. Love Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid in Moonlight; it's so easy to use and gives your skin beautiful sheen. Just use it right after your foundation (with your fingers) before any powder products :)
About your gloss comment...I was at the hair salon yesterday getting a cut...my poor stylist had to keep dealing with my hair sticking to my lip gloss, especially when she turned on the blow dryer!! Lol
Marnie....I LOVE you!!! I'm like you. I'm with you. I'm 50 years old and will NEVER wear cream products. My mother wore powder make up in her 70's and looked beautiful. I heard from another youtuber saying they are discontinuing Flower beauty at Walmart.
I'm crazy about highlighters! I recently bought the Chanel Camellia highlighter & it's SO pretty I don't want to use it. LOL My cheekbones are the dryer part of my face & the Becca liquids work better on me. But I LOVE all my powders on my upper lip line, above brow & down the nose. Thanks for the tips! ~Susanne xoxo
Marnier, Great tips!! I personally LOVE the Tarte Rainforest Of the Sea Highlighting Pallette:)❤. On my 14 year old, we use the WnW cushion highlighter and it works GREAT on her young beautiful skin!!:)
Emily Laughlin , I apply it with the real techniques highlighter brush and I put it on at the very end of my routine. Highlighting is the very last step:) BUT, I am not a MUA. Just someone who has watched a gazillion UA-cam videos about it❤
I love becce champagne pop colour but I feel like it emphasizes wrinkles.Soft and gentle I just don't understand it is so shimmery.I prefer becca liquid ones, mac CCB and ABH glow kits.
Anything, but boring! Loved this video! I just recently started putting my highlighter on before my blush and I couldn't love the application more. So seamless. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
Marnie, this was fabulous! Some "gurus" really overdo the highlighters to the point it is almost clown-like. I hate the glowing nose tip look. Blech! Your technique is spot on, easy to do, and of course, beautiful! Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video! I am sending this to mom, too! May I ask what is your skin tone in Mac? NC15? Also, what lipstick are you wearing? Gorgeous!!!
I want Champagne pop! Is the powder form as good? I'm not comfortable with cream products. I am a G.A.W, lol, but relatively new to a lot of kinds of makeup. So I would prefer the powder.
Girlactick has the most amazing buttery soft powder highlighters! I'm in my 40s and I have fair skin, and they give me a strong yet wearable glow. If you use a light hand, you can get a subtle glow from them.
The Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder Compact in Highlight 01 Golden Nude is very pretty and another hard one to mess up, however it is a little pricey. It's good to see some drugstore highlights that work too : )
What lip gloss are you wearing?? Come on.. don't keep it a secret. ;)It looks really good on you. I like Becca in the shade opal ... it is the best on my skin.
Hi Marnie, thanks this video! it would have been so helpful if you would have swatched all the highlighters along your forearm so we could have compared color, texture and intensity of all of them at one time. Thanks!
Love this series you are doing. I have gotten some great tips and application knowledge from you. I love that you also list the products and the brushes you use. Thank you so much. Looking forward to your next video.
I love the Mary Lou Manizer because it's beautiful but doesn't accentuate any lines or texture and also the makeup revolution baked highlighter in radiant lights.
I wondered about how you applied highlighter - saw in one of your videos that you applied it before the blush. I watch numerous videos and noticed that always put it on last but I tried it your way and I think it looks much better!! Great tip.
Marnie I was watching this, and kid you not my 7 year old walked behind me and stopped to watch this with me lol!! She is going to be a makeup lover also! You sure grabbed her attention!
Great video. I struggle with highlighting because of dry patches from Retin A. It just doesn't look good on me but maybe the flaking skin will stop and I will be able to try some. I really value your opinions and like your demo. Hope you have a Great weekend.
Helpful video. I'm just not a highlighter fan. Just can't love the shiny look. Maybe because I have oily skin, shiny skin just isn't attractive to me 😂 I'm weird I guess.
I have tried a lot of highlighter at all price points. My # 1 is still The Balm's Mary LouManizer.l am 61 very few wrinkles.l find it subtle with a pop.As long as it isn't disco dust .You can pull off highlighter.l am not a fading flower type.l just had subtle rose gold highlights to my blonde hair.
I am 72 & still love makeup. Your tips and tricks are right on the mark. Love that you suggest drugstore brands. Have a great weekend ! 😃
Suzanne Balenko I hope I'm like you when I'm older. I don't think I can ever stop loving makeup. Your comment made me smile. Oh, my grandma still wears a bit of lipstick and mascara, too. Self care is important at all ages.

Good morning, Marnie. Very informative and helpful video. Looks very pretty on you. Love your earrings! Take care. have a nice day!
Great video Marnie! I love your technique of putting the highlight on first and then the blush...brilliant!!

This was great! Highlighter has always scared me. I don't want to look like a 46 year old trying to be 21 again. Thanks for the tips!
Great series, very helpful. I love your explanation on blush after highlight.
Was just looking at Flower Beauty yesterday, think I will go back!
Totally agree on the Flower Beauty palette!! Soooo gorgeous!! 😍 Great picks, Marnie!!
Helpful. I need to go buy a highlighter.

Bridget D that tarte highlighter palette is amazing! I have it and love it too:)
Hannah Wiggins , I will absolutely repurchase it❤. It is the best highlighter I have found so far (and, I have tried a lot!! lol). :)
Bridget D how do you apply the wet and wild cushion highlight. I have it and am struggling to apply it. Also when in the routine do you apply??
Emily Laughlin , I apply it with the real techniques highlighter brush and I put it on at the very end of my routine. Highlighting is the very last step:) BUT, I am not a MUA. Just someone who has watched a gazillion UA-cam videos about it❤
Marnie...can i just say thay i love your videos! ok going to go watch this now!

I agree! Highlighters are my fave too...I just ordered the Make Up Revolution and will also grab the Flower! Thanks! xoxo

The ELF illuminating quad is amazing! They are very subtle but beautiful highlights. Some say dupes for Hourglass. :D
I'm currently loving the new eco tools can brush for highlighting! Also the glo down shadow from maybelline is amazing under $3!!
What lip gloss are you wearing?? Come on.. don't keep it a secret. ;)It looks really good on you. I like Becca in the shade opal ... it is the best on my skin.

Love the peachy one from Makeup Revolution! Adding that to my shopping list. What lipgloss are you wearing in this video? Love the color!
the ELF small tapered brush looks a lot like the Wayne Goss 02 brush and it's my fav for applying highlighter.
Love the layering tips, definitely doing my blush last next time! Such a great video Marnie, thank you!!!
Long time viewer and fellow GAW.. I absolutely loved this video! keep them coming, much love from an Aussie fan xoxo

Highlighter then blush, brilliant.I have such a time with highlighter and look like a disco ball but will try your suggestions.
The Flower Beauty is my fav. It is so creamy an soft. If you put the brush in too hard you will make a hole in it.LOL
I love the pink color in the Flower beauty one!! It's my favorite right now too!!!
Marnie, can you tell me what you are wearing on your lips. it's beautiful on you.
You had me laughing when you said,"Don't put it under your eye can that would be weird!" lol
Hi Marnie.... do u powder over the dream cushion foundation?? Would love to see a demo video !

Loving the FB palette! #marniemademe 😄
Helpful video. I'm just not a highlighter fan. Just can't love the shiny look. Maybe because I have oily skin, shiny skin just isn't attractive to me 😂 I'm weird I guess.
