Congratulations. I bought one to add to my Apollo 8. I love it. The convertors are great. The unison is AWSOME and the new crystal clocking is so much better. Hope you are enjoying it.
Unfortunately, you are mistaken. The conversion A/D happens before going through the effects, even in unison. So, it's no different than adding an effect after you have recorded your guitar part. If you think about it, a software can only process a digital signal, not an analog one.
Sam Sine Very true. The unison plugins does however alter the actual hardware to make sure that the impedance and gain structure represents that of the hardware it's modeling. And he's absolutely right about the feel he gets when playing through the console rather than a plugin inside the daw. The near zero latency monitoring is such a blessing.
I looked into the UAD Apollo Twin, but the $1,299 cost of entry and then the ADDITIONAL cost of UAD plugins caused a wifely intervention :) . Their Rack gear is waaaay outside of my discretionary guitar spending allowance.
This interface can work using an input for a chain of three processors, and in turn you can use its outputs to make analog inserts to the daw? if you can withstand all these prosecutions?
I have the Apollo Twin and I am very confused as to how to best utilize it. I wish there were a more complete users guide for first timers. Yes, I am old! any ideas out there? Kevin
That's what I use for VO's. Not sure what kind of issues you're having (or what you're using it for), but it vastly improved my product. API Vision is my favorite plugin for voiceover.
Saving computer resources was a thing of the past. computers are too powerful today, literally save thousands and don't fall for this shit. I challenge people to tell me the big difference between Waves SSL ch Strip $29.00 vs UA $299.99 SSL ch strip( that is only one plug-in ffs) Not to mention the worst customer service and support in the industry.
Nothing beats a real valve amp, sm57, md421 on cab. Tried millions amp sim plugs and all of them sound horrible. 1 channel sounds ok but layering them is where the problems start. Always a mission to EQ and make them sit in the mix. Where with real amp \ mic its sits automatic in the mix without adding / subtracting any freq. I always ask the question why todays mixes sound so horrible against stuff from 80s 90s, Listen to some Back in Black or GNR albums.
Well the latency is still there even with a powerful pc, those interfaces have nearly 0 latency. But you are right with those expensive plugins etc. I dont understand how you buy the interface for 3000€ and there are just some plugins included but the "great" plugins you still have to buy after the "demo-period"
@@ickebins6948 imagine the price of investing in say 10 outboard 1176's, a couple of Neve 1073 strips, some Lexicon's, a bunch of guitar amps and so on. Considering how close the UAD plug-ins sound compared to the real deal I'd say it's a steal.
Weak review! All the reverb effects you demo sounded very muddy. It lacked clarity. You want to add reverb your tone NOT add tone to your reverb. Maybe rethink the effects chain? The only thing I liked was the tape delay/reverb effect. It did in fact "warm" up your tone. Sounds like you rushed this demo and did not do your homework to showcase the strength of this unit.

Henrik Petersson yeah definitely about the impedance. But he said the effect was applied before the A/D conversion, so just wanted to correct that 😉
Very good explanation. Keep on doing like that, please.
If you test reverbs or other fx on a channel as insert , turn off solo mode and use the Dry/wet to adjust the amount of fx
Hello! Why in console only six preamps ? If x8p has 8 ?
There's 2 stereo tracks
great review !!
I think RME babyface pro is the most recommended by audio engineers...anyways how does it sounds to you compared to RME ?
Could I connect a digital piano to the x8’s line inputs at the back using two TRS cables for stereo as opposed to just a single TRS cable mono?

Man just say you need it for work thats what im gonna do
can you use this with any daw though?
This interface can work using an input for a chain of three processors, and in turn you can use its outputs to make analog inserts to the daw? if you can withstand all these prosecutions?
Gee thanks just got it 😊🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Hi, great video. So I would plug my guitar directly into the Apollo x8?
Yes you can!
nice job with your studio design. what is the angled gray material on the walls? it looks like sound absorbers. but i've never seen that before.
Just got optional TB 3 card off ebay for $350 adding to my Apollo 1st gen.
Bro how do you connect your midi keyboard
Can the x8p be used alone ? Because everyone I have seen using it has some other interface maybe mkii or another x8
Can you use those plugins on the adat inputs as well?
How do you like the ad/da convertors?
When you say your guitar is plugged into input number 2, are you saying HI-Z input number 2 or input number 2 on the back of the x8p?
HI-Z input number 2
Hello,
I know the Apollo x its Thunderbolt 3 and looks like your computer its Thunderbolt 2, what kind convertor do you use ?
Thanks
Same question I have bro
I find the convertor, its just a regular convertor from T2 to T3 from apple $60
Can you use a neural dsp plugin with it?....
I have the Apollo Twin and I am very confused as to how to best utilize it. I wish there were a more complete users guide for first timers. Yes, I am old! any ideas out there?

Hey Kevin, here's a series of step by step videos for beginners. help.uaudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/209243006-Getting-Started-with-Apollo-Twin-Videos
i mean you can do this allready with slate digital plugins
no, you (still) can't. slate is native, not dsp and therefore not realtime.
I use Garage Band.
wow!!! MORE VIDEOS LIKE THIS!!! Full Plguins!! :-)
UA IS THE BOMB.
He has an apollo 8 and is using GarageBand

It's all fine and dandy when you're mixing. When you want to monitor with plugins, your USB interface is not going to cut it
but can we talk about that sum 41 ad that played before the video started xDDDDDD LMAO yooooo

buying into UAD eco system to expensive do you really need DSP these days with very powerful computers!

If you are a novice don't buy. The interface is amazing but the trouble shooting and customer service will make you regret buying
