    Meditation. A powerful way to lose touch with the grip our thoughts have on us and connect to something greater.

    Once I got into the 3/5 breathing, I didn't hear/comprehend a word you said. Cardiovascular. I did hear that..........................the fact I didn't hear you, I see as a positive. Cos I was so relaxed and sensing and enjoying my breath. I didn't need anything else.

    Thank you, anxiety from drug addiction is what i suffer with the most, i have stopped but only meditation helps me and praying, i have learned to focus on my breathing when a thought comes or i will force myself to think of something pleasant like flowers, water, the sun, birds and it does help to zone out but i cannot get rid of the nervousness which i think is anxiety

      Your journey AWAY FROM addiction is uniquely difficult, i have no doubt, but also that it will be the most significant & worthwhile path you have chosen. Oh and YES, i PROMISE that your anxiety will eventually loose interest in troubling your ‘today’s ahead’. It won’t be a problem. Hang In there and don’t ever “quit the quitting”!

    I find so many people adverse to the word “meditate” that I’ve adopted the word “stillness.” We can all sit in stillness for a few moments each day- not doing a mental to do list. Not eating. Not reading. Not writing. Not watching. Not speaking. Just sitting and breathing for just a few minutes. It feels so good, that we will naturally want more, without feeling as if we “have” to do it as a practice, we begin t remember that we “get” to do it. Monkey see, monkey do. Thank you dear Russell, for teaching by doing.

      The Tao states that we are like water block your mind close off your senses and forget everything I one time in my entire life took a walk with my Son who was a child then? And I thought ' one day these cars going down the street next us won't see me I won't be here anymore' It was like absolute heaven Letting go of I AM and I WILL BE and I KNOW are all things that make me and others repeat the fears we were raised by and yes me too GUILT / fear really

    Thank you so much. I am struggling and cannot sleep which has been diagnosed as psycological. It has been difficult but I am using your meditation techniques. Ever since the first time I tried it in Newcastle. I meditate atleast once during the day and before I go to bed. I am still knackered but the meditation is helping. Thank you again Russell.

    Mr. Brand, i am a recovering addict. Drugs and alcohol. I am 26 years old and been struggling to get clean since i was 16 years old. I was always self medicating. I find your approach so much more appealing. I have been to more treatment centers and programs than i would like to say, and the only time it really stuck with me was when i got into the meditation and trying to reach my spiritual peace. And i just cant. But i see you so happy now and so at peace. I see myself falling back into getting hooked on medications i really dont NEED to be taking but when i dont i get so depressed i cant even get out of bed. I would really love to atleast just hear from you about where i should start. Just like in AA, i want what you have. Please Mr. Russell, atleast help me with a starting point. I am so lost in this thing we call “life”.
    Thank you ,

    Hey there. I would like to recommend the book Right Use of Will. I'd like to know what you think about it, this book was first known to me a long time ago, when I was just a teen and then it followed me, like literally followed me, my whole life. It talks off the Will, a part of us that we seen to ignore, we recognize Heart, Mind, Body, etc but Will is very often over looked. And learning how to listen to Will and recognize it in others and respecting it, can be a beautiful thing. There are other books in this series but Right Use of Will was the one that really stuck with me. it brings up allot of emotions so it is good to be prepared for that. It is a wonderful spiritual guide or at least can complement your spiritual journey.

    I have meditated off and on over the years. Right now Im feeling a bit jaded, this is when we need meditation most, but during these times I feel as if sitting still is a silly thing to try and get peace or solutions for me or anyone else. It's a shitty mindset and feeling. Im almost afraid, like meditation could make a person bypass reality, forget important foci, get off track, etc. How weird is that? Perhaps Im avoiding processing pain.... perhaps.

      @Silverpoint I tried for 20 minutes every day which eventually went down to 10 then 5 minutes and then it just seem like there were better use of my time doing something else. I'm not sure what it is supposed to do or what I'm supposed to feel. I did many guided meditations too. I had a few strange experiences such as sometimes feeling like I was no longer behind my eyelids but was in a dark void or something but that was it. That happened many times but that was all that happened. It didn't change me or make me feel anything different.

    • @eponymous2684
      @eponymous2684 2 роки тому

      @Silverpoint I guess it did relax me sometimes because sometimes I fell asleep and sometimes it energized me somehow and I couldn't sleep. I initially tried it to lower stress and bp buy no luck there. Then I tried some guided meditations to meet higher self or spirit guides. I'm afraid I failed there too. So now I don't do it at all and it has become increasingly difficult to visualize or to keep my mind vacant.
