Technically same with the Numbers technically being part of the "number" archetype. However they have no synergy and aren't supposed to be played in the same deck.
@@iokai4118It’s a lot like Numbers. There are Number support cards, even Over 100 Number Support cards, the Barian ones, yet they often fall into naming umbrellas rather than deck themes. Even simple words like Sky and Star can get to that position which is why the general consensus on archetypes has been shifting towards deck themes even on Konami’s end.
For a more subjective list, how about the Top 10 fun/interesting/unique casual archetypes. I say casual in the sense of no competitive success aside from maybe as a small, 2-3ish card engine.

King of the Feral Imps will become broken as soon as a good reptile archetype gets introduced. And seeing Snake Rain exists, that's probably never happening.
For April Fools Day, you should make a list where only one card fits the requirements and just list the same card 10 times with different explanations as to how it is good each time.
I love bahamut shark and constantly used it to chain into Utopia Draco. Any and every turn I could hit a Utopic Draco and other consistant staples to also create bigger hitters and negates because no matter how my deck shuffled I always got it. I constantly won locals and did well at regionals, but never won a regional event soooooooooooooo tear drops on my guitar.
Top 10 Archetypes that can summon the most types of summons(ritual, fusion, synchro, xyz, pendulum and link) with just their archetypes d/d/d as an example can summon all but ritual, the more summons a archetype can pull off the higher on the list they go.
@cunningzer0558 They probably will make a D/D ritual at some point. Originally, the deck was supposed to contain every Summoning Method that had a Dimension for it but they added a Link Monster despite those not having a Dimension so there isn't really a reason not to have a Ritual. The question is whether it will be good or consistent.
It's honestly funny that Shock Master, one of the most overpowered monsters ever printed was used in the anime by a one-shot villain and it wasn't even their ace (Big Eye is)
Another of the most overpowered monsters ever printed, Dark Strike Fighter, was basically the backup ace of a minor 5Ds character and never used its ability. The anime can be weird like that.

As a wrestling fan, it's funny hearing "The Shock Master" being good in any context because my mind will always associate that name with one of the worst debuts in wrestling history.
Number cards are actually their own archetype due to Number Wall and Numbers Protection, due to their role in the Zexal anime (the sub is significantly better than the dub).
That's a "serie" not an "archetype". A serie is, well, a serie of cards that have something in common, but aren't supported by anything, such as the Ghost Girls for example, or Gladius. An archetype on the other hand has cards that actively support the archetype by name with various effects, including searching, summoning, reviving, etc.
It’s weird how the word Skyblaster runs across 3 different unrelated cards. As long as these cards read like that on the OCG I’ll rest easier we didn’t fall into a Frog the Jam on them. I kinda want it to be a full theme though cause I like sky themed stuff. Like make some new Cloudians for sure.
Skyblaster is actually an archetype because Phantom Skyblaster mentions it so that it can work with both itself and the Tokens it summons. Also, while the cards are unrelated, they are all either Level 4 or Rank 4.
@@Shugunou You can’t use Tokens for an Xyz summon anyway. In the meantime I’d checked it’s got the same characters, so no worries of exclusions, but it’s no deck theme at present. That’s what’s actually significant.
@@runningoncylinders3829 No but Phantom Skyblaster and Clavkiys are both Level 4 main deck monsters that are part of it and Castel only takes 2 Level 4 monsters meaning you technically only need to play one copy of each Skyblaster monster to Summon all of them, assuming your opponent controls a monster so you can Normal Summon Phantom Skyblaster and use it to Summon a Token since the Tokens are also part of the archetype. Also, the fact you need to Normal Summon Phantom Skyblaster doesn't make it too hard to Summon Clavkiys as well since it is a Level 4 Normal Monster that can be Summoned with Unexpected Dai.
@@Shugunou This combo misses the point entirely. Any Level 4 works like that. You’re being pedantic about terminology when as far as I’m concerned deck theme trumps everything, and anime decks like Sharks or MD solo mode gates like Monarch or Digital Bug suit the community definition of an archetype far better than the archaic term from ‘07 or earlier that lets Kragen or Phantom Skyblaster put on a trench coat pretending to be an actual strategy. This has already been set in place by the nature of card design itself.
@@runningoncylinders3829 Any level 2 WATER monster can be used for Toadally Awesome but that doesn't mean it wasn't made for Frog decks. What about Gagaga Cowboy? It's a generic Rank 4 but it was still made for Gagaga decks.
Idea for another generic rank 4: _Four-tisimo, Fourfold Flaming Fury_ (FIRE) Rank 4 Pyro/Xyz/Effect 4 level 4 monsters _You can also Xyz summon this card by using 4 Momster, Spell and Trap cards each from your hand, field or GY as materials. This card gains the following effects depending on the types of materials attached to it:_ 4+ Monsters: If this card destroys a monster by battle or inflicts battle damage: Normal Set 1 non-effect monster from your hand, deck or GY. Cannot be destroyed by monster cards or effects. 4+ Spells: If this card destroys a monster by battle or inflicts battle damage: Set 1 normal spell from your hand, deck or GY. Cannot be destroyed by spell cards or effects. 4+ Traps: If this card destroys a monster by battle or inflicts battle damage: Set 1 normal Trap from your hand, deck or GY. Cannot be destroyed by trap cards or effects. ATK/? DEF/?
Maybe make it unaffected instead? As it is right now it's just a fairly weak rank 4 with some novelty use, but a more powerful version with a couple changes might be: Four-tisimo, Fourfold Flaming Fury (FIRE) Rank 4 Pyro/Xyz/Effect 4+ level 4 monsters You can also Xyz summon this card by using 4 Monster, Spell and Trap cards from your hand, field or GY as materials. Unaffected by Monster cards or effects and cannot be destroyed by battle. 4+ Spells: If this card destroys a monster by battle or inflicts battle damage: Set 1 normal spell from your hand, deck or GY. Unaffected by Spell cards or effects. 4+ Traps: If this card destroys a monster by battle or inflicts battle damage: Set 1 normal Trap from your hand, deck or GY. Unaffected by Spell cards or effects. ATK/? DEF/? I propose this change so it isn't instantly destroyed by any non destructive removal. The combat immunity is because level 4 monsters don't have a very high attack, so it isn't likely to hit over much. All in all, this card is pretty bad. Its a win condition (completely immune to everything except piercing damage and kaijus) but highly interruptable. While this card would not see play (it's a worse Expurrely Noir) it would probably have some decks that are dedicated to it (turbo mill strategies perhaps).
This card would be banned ASAP in both the TCG and OCG for several reasons. Being able to basically act as a Super Poly Xyz Monster that also can use the GY is already really good but then also being able to just take any card from your Deck or GY and be able to do so for free if it is Level 4 or below or a Spell/Trap is ridiculous. On top of it just being able to recycle cards as materials so it never runs out and can potentially use all 3 of its effects in one turn is just broken by itself. Everything about this card is broken and I doubt anything like that will even be printed any time soon.
@@Shugunou Well there ARE some caveats to your summary: ⚪️You can only use the alternative summoning condition using 4 monster/spell/trap cards each from YOUR hand, field or GY (so no devouring your opponent’s hand/field/GY) ⚪️The Detach effect to absorb cards that would be banished or sent to the GY only works for 1 kind of card at a time, and is more to throw a monkey wrench in the plans of banish or GY heavy decks. ⚪️The free card set only applies if THIS card achieve some level of battle destruction or damage against your opponent (and still be standing, which might be an issue unless this card can absorb a material with a beefy ATK or DEF), and even then you have to (normal if a monster) _SET_ a relevant card (which slows the card down already), and even then those targets can only be non-effect monsters (so normals, Gemini or a few extra deck or ritual ones) and normal spells/traps… ⚪️…And the above is only possible so long as I devote a whopping 4 of the same card type as materials to it for the effects and protections I desire. The alternative summoning condition and detach effect can help accumulate those resources, but it’s still a hefty investment nonetheless. ⚪️So I’d say this card as first written is _on the cusp_ of being as powerful as you say it is, but you’d have to read the fine print and revolve your deck around the damn thing. It’s like generic yet not generic at the same time.

@@ButFirstHeLitItOnFire Even only using your own cards, if you send a Spell in a Spell Deck like Sky Striker, this thing will get to like 20 materials because it doesn't specify they have to go to your opponent's GY. For monsters, most decks send a ton of monsters to the GY to go into Synchro, Fusion, or Link plays or to use effects. Either way, this card gains a ton of materials. And since this card gains the stats of monsters absorbed, in most decks, it will easily get to 20k+ ATK. Not only that, but the detach effect is a Quick Effect so it even works for Trap Decks. Every deck will play this card at 3 except for Monarchs. The Summon effect is also still broken because it can use cards from anywhere of any type and because of the way it is worded, the monsters used don't have to be Level 4 so even decks that don't play Level 4 monsters, Spells, or Traps can still make it. And the fact it needs to battle isn't enough to balance it considering how powerful Zeus is and that every Xyz Deck uses it despite it requiring you to battle and not being able to attack the turn it is Summoned since it must be Summoned in the Main Phase 2.
Given they have an effect line that is identical to the Shaddolls, Tearlaments also work well out of the hand and can achieve greater feats by doing so. Feats such as summoning three Fusion monsters off of a single fusion spell, as that fusion spell counts as the Tearlaments monsters having been sent to the gy by a card effect, so will trigger their in gy fusion summoning effects. They can also achieve this kind of feat through the draw power card hand destruction which adds a unique flavour to drawing more cards. You could set up a board containing (depending on what you run among your Tearlaments) a copy of Tearlaments Kitkallos, a copy of El Shaddoll winda and a copy of Starving venom fusion dragon. This creating a powerful nuisance combination of fusion monsters that will leave the opponent scratching their head about what their next move is as they'll have limited special summons and risk losing powerful monsters if Starving venom is destroyed and also if they do anything to Kitkallos she will most likely be evolved into Rulkallos, becoming even more annoying by doing so.

Bahamut Shark is literally part of the Shark archetype... Btw. funny enough in DL Castel just came out while we have Knightmare Unicorn quite a while and to no surprise Castel is barely played
I can understand Castel not counting for an archetype since "Musketeer" is only an archetype by technicality. Bahamut Shark on the other hand is absolutely part of the "Shark" archetype, and the only reason there's no explicit "Shark" support is because it all of the anime/manga support that was printed in the O/TCG is either generic support or "Level 3, 4, or 5 Fish-type monster" support.
Shark is not actually an archetype. In the same way that "Dragon" is not an archetype but has a lot of cards that incidentally support it. The fact that they have to specify "level 3, 4, and 5" fish monsters, many of which are not sharks but still support the overall fish monster typing, is exactly the point. There isn't a shark effect that Bahamut Shark even interacts with explicitly because Shark is not an archetype, as it has a rank and not levels so it even misses out on some of its own creature type's support. It's like Chaos or Dragons or Plants -- a known deck type, but very specifically not an archetype.

It's part of the "lswarm" archetype so it doesn't qualify. They have 8 support cards which is 8 times the amount of Skyblaster and Stealth Kragen.
@@Shugunou But it's definitely good and was banned at one point.
@@ShiningJudgment666 Yes but it doesn't qualify for the list
Isn't Skyblaster an archetype for Castel? Either way, awesome to see another vid!
Yes, Phantom Skyblaster and Castiel are of the same archetype.
@@enzothenet1027and clavkiys is also part of the archetype
@@iokai4118Not entirely true. All the main deck ones are Level 4 so they can be used to summon Castel.

Back in the day, I had a Zombie rank 4 deck that abused Blue Blooded Oni.
The deck often ended on 2 shock Masters and a Royal Decree. I miss those days lol
I miss being able to use Bahamut Shark in my Marincess deck, but Sprights don't need any help so it's fine that Toadally is banned. I've still got Abyss Dweller.
They could’ve just banned ronin and limit swap frog to one. That way toad can still be used away from Sprights.
Flashback to the 25 minute video about Maxx C
I did not know about Stealth Kragen before this video, but now I want to build a deck around it now.

Top 10 Archetypes that can summon the most types of summons(ritual, fusion, synchro, xyz, pendulum and link) with just their archetypes d/d/d as an example can summon all but ritual, the more summons a archetype can pull off the higher on the list they go.
This is such a great idea!
Technically, there is nothing stopping D/D from playing a generic Ritual Monster and Ritual Spell.
@@Shugunou True they probably never will for consistency sake but it is an option meaning they can do all
@cunningzer0558 They probably will make a D/D ritual at some point. Originally, the deck was supposed to contain every Summoning Method that had a Dimension for it but they added a Link Monster despite those not having a Dimension so there isn't really a reason not to have a Ritual. The question is whether it will be good or consistent.
Magikey Link and Pend when?
Blackwing players sheding the tears of wishing Castel was Dark at the time.

Gallant granite is also great in a magnet warrior deck with it able to search for any card they need at the time

Number cards are actually their own archetype due to Number Wall and Numbers Protection, due to their role in the Zexal anime (the sub is significantly better than the dub).

Salamangreats new support has entered the chat
Skyblaster is pretty much an archetype at this point. There's Castel, Phantom Skyblaster and the Magikey vanilla monster
@@c.c.anubisNo, Phantom Skyblaster works with any "Skyblaster" monster so it is an archetype.
@@c.c.anubis read phantom skyblaster
Number 4: Stealth Kragen is one of my all-time faves. Glad it’s on the list.
Likewise. It’s so under represented, but it’s such a hilariously good card.
Technically, it shouldn't be since it is part of the Stealth Kragen archetype supported by Kragen Spawn.
Idea for another generic rank 4:
_Four-tisimo, Fourfold Flaming Fury_ (FIRE)
Rank 4
Pyro/Xyz/Effect
4 level 4 monsters
_You can also Xyz summon this card by using 4 Momster, Spell and Trap cards each from your hand, field or GY as materials. This card’s original ATK and DEF become equal to the highest ATK or DEF of any attached materials (Your choice of tied.) Once per turn, during the draw phase (Quick Effect): You can detach 1 material from this card; any cards of that detached material’s type (Monster/Spell/Trap) that would be Banished or sent to the GY are attached to this card instead until the next draw phase. This card gains the following effects depending on the types of materials attached to it:_
4+ Monsters: If this card destroys a monster by battle or inflicts battle damage: Normal Set 1 non-effect monster from your hand, deck or GY.
As it is right now it's just a fairly weak rank 4 with some novelty use, but a more powerful version with a couple changes might be:
Four-tisimo, Fourfold Flaming Fury (FIRE)
Rank 4
Pyro/Xyz/Effect
4+ level 4 monsters
You can also Xyz summon this card by using 4 Monster, Spell and Trap cards from your hand, field or GY as materials.
@@Shugunou
Well there ARE some caveats to your summary:
⚪️You can only use the alternative summoning condition using 4 monster/spell/trap cards each from YOUR hand, field or GY (so no devouring your opponent’s hand/field/GY)
⚪️The Detach effect to absorb cards that would be banished or sent to the GY only works for 1 kind of card at a time, and is more to throw a monkey wrench in the plans of banish or GY heavy decks.
⚪️The free card set only applies if THIS card achieve some level of battle destruction or damage against your opponent (and still be standing, which might be an issue unless this card can absorb a material with a beefy ATK or DEF), and even then you have to (normal if a monster) _SET_ a relevant card (which slows the card down already), and even then those targets can only be non-effect monsters (so normals, Gemini or a few extra deck or ritual ones) and normal spells/traps…
⚪️…And the above is only possible so long as I devote a whopping 4 of the same card type as materials to it for the effects and protections I desire.
@@doublereel-realHere, let me build up on that then, tell me what you think:

THERE, made the 4+ effects more potent, and made the alternative summon quick effect for if your opponent tries something that ends up fulfilling the requirements for this card for you (like having of 3 of “Card Destruction” dump enough relevant cards into your hand and/or GY)

Top 10 rock type monsters
What's the name of the piano piece in the background?
