      It's like another freinkenstine to me and a evil and money today it's all about money and nothing else as they say it is the ROOT OF ALL EVIL a God there is no care of human life, there is no care of nothing no more what people don't realize is the devil comes as an angel of light to and so many are decieved because they don't know any better. I love life but i'm also not that desperate to do something like that to polong my life or for any reason I don't think i'd want to wake up in someone else's body and I wouldn't want to die in someone else's body either that's too sinister to me. I too one hundred percent agree with Albert Instine if it's my time to go let me go elegantly. I'm not sure how to put this but I'll say it like this as time goes on and everything is becoming more advanced the worse it's getting and more dangerous it's becoming I think something like that is going too far and people are playing God , and those of you who are believers you know what I'm talking about, this makes me think about in the Bible in the book of Genesis I believe when a bunch of people came together and created this evil thing before God and tried to build this tall tower up to heaven when God cane down to see what they were doing he knocked it down and as a punishment to the people he confused their languages that they couldn't understand one another and they stopped building the tower and went their separate ways. They tried to put themselves above God to make themselves God's and he wasn't having it. I see it this way if it's his will to allow me a few more years of life he will let me live if not so be it I'd rather roll with the way God made things to be naturally than to even think of having something like that done to me its not for man to go above God like those people tried to do and mess with something like that. No thank you I'd rather keep the body I'm in that God gave me God is bigger and that is why our world is so so screwed up and the evil of that is they got every reasoning in the book behind the evil that they do but one day they are going to be standing before God as we all will be and have to give an account and they will be without excuse.

    I went to school with someone with muscular dystrophy and literally saw him go from being able to walk to within a year in a wheelchair and it was so sad to see the pain he was going through I mean I could just tell that he was always in pain. So if a head transplant was possible or becomes possible why should anyone disrespect the dr and patient. And also with muscular dystrophy you live a relatively short life in pain and there is nothing anybody can do to stop or cure it so if a head transplant can cure the muscular dystrophy or any other life ending diseases then I say people should have the right to have it done.

    • @segzybae9291
      @segzybae9291 6 років тому +2

      Zach t the reason nobody should do an head transplant is cause you would still have to change the head with another body which means that someone would still suffer. If the body you exchange the head with is deceased there would still be problems since we die because we get hurt really bad or because the body is too old. So either way someone would still suffer.

This series is a perfect side by side! Great job on your channel! Big props to you and all of your awesome team! I have been with you for a VERY long time (Episode 20 ish of WWYPTOTI). Nice new series.
    However I have my doubts that the head transplant of the Russian man will lead to him walking again in his new body. Since he has never walked in his life, his brain cells that normally would control walking have never been practiced and according to the principle 'use it or lose it', those cells will have been used to control something else. So I except that his brain might not be able to control walking ever again.

    • @devadingdong
      @devadingdong 8 років тому +4

      +Eefje Poppelaars they shouldnt do this cause the brain is programmed for you and you can put that into another body it is like putting a dvd into a cd reader it isnt made for the cd reader and the cd isnt made for the dvd reader

    I don't have a problem with humans doing this but I wouldn't want to be anywhere near the procedure when it was going on. Also we should keep in mind (no pun intended) that a tool like this is very powerful and if it falls into the wrong hands it can be a disaster.

    Why does the "playing god" thing come up in every moral argument about creating new life and prolonging life? That's not a moral nor is it "playing god." A god isn't the only being that can make new life or make choices about life. It's like these people are afraid of the advance of the medical field as a whole because it may render their god obsolete.

    • @jessiehermit9503

      No, I think that what they're worried about is that we might not know as much as we think we do and that we'll accidentally do something horrendous, either to the person we're trying to help, or ourselves. They're probably worried that we'll accidentally create a monster who could turn on us.

    • @MusicCuresTheLiving
      @MusicCuresTheLiving 8 років тому +3

      +BeanEatsBean s If you wanna die prematurely from some disease or deformity, go ahead. If scientists can further our medicine and give someone and actual LIFE, then let them do it. People living with certain ailments, whether they're born with them or develop them, those people are not "living". They are simply surviving, breathing air, keeping their bodies alive. Not to mention without animals, we wouldn't be where we are today. You probably wouldn't have been alive since the medicine that prevented one of your ancestors or whatever from dying wouldn't exist because it wouldn't have been properly studied and tested etc. Any vaccine you get? Animals. Makeups? Even if a certain product doesn't test on animals, it got to this stage because of animals. Hope you don't eat meat, guess where that comes from?

    • @ArooMeister
      @ArooMeister 8 років тому +2

      +BeanEatsBean s because then we wouldn't be following the natural order of living things, which is to prolong your life in ANY way possible, animals dont just accept certain death, they fight till their last breath, so it only makes sense we would also try to accomplish the longest life possible through technology. and scientists fucking with animals like that is the main reason why people like us don't die horribly in agony at an early age more often, its through drugs and procedures most likely created through animal testing. also the reason your pets are able to stay with you longer and die peacefully. It might suck that the cute wittle animals are getting tested on but its either a couple mice in a lab or thousands of living things in real life.

      +ashleyxofashions It made me think of FMA too. Some things should stay science fiction. The tests they did on the animals' heads just shows that sentient bodies will reject the process and it will only serve to be a more traumatic death. I do hope the best for that paralyzed graphic artist, but I'm not expecting the results to improve his quality of life in the long run and I'm pretty sure it will be the death of the poor guy.

    • @Otakahunt
      @Otakahunt 8 років тому

      +Nightman221k that rejecting part is questionable imo. Its the same thing with any transplants... the surgeons have to take in account the patients possible rejections and that is why they try to find someone who has similar genetics and blood type... and whatevs else there is to take into consideration.
      Its obvious the body would reject a wrong type of organ but if its correct for your body it wont.... just like those patients who have gotten transplants before.
      Would that be able to be used in head transplants? :P
      I hope the surgery in 2017 is successfull and that guy finally gets a normal life like the rest of us. If its even going to happen.

    • @Nightman221k

We sat on bench seats that were covered with purple carpet, similar to what they might have at a theme park or science museum. On the seat, I found a medical science book for kids. It was open to the chapter about the woman who was the first person ever to get a brain transplant. I remember it said the year, but I don't remember what it actually was. If no one even knew "God" "Existed" (not saying he does or does not) would we still question the "are we playing God" ethicality? or would automatically revert to saying "playing Nature" instead? If the though or seed of God was never planted, would we still worry about "playing God"? Food for thought.

    • @Eskim012

      Yes I guess you could say that. IF we didn't have the notion or knowledge of God then obviously we wouldn't be able to associate moral/ethnical procedures or topics with a higher being (God) but rather we would put it down to nature like you said. But this video is so interesting because it highlights how complex the human is and it does bring into question the existence of God. For me personally I feel like the complexity of DNA alone must have had a higher being to have created such a meticulous thing.

      +Rebecca Hoffmaster personally i think that all/most religions that have some form of god where created out of fear and the unknown. people didn't have a purpose, we don't know what happens after death, we didn't know how life, the planet, everything in general was made, so we came up with stories of how everything was created to just make some kind of sense of it true or not. and which would you really rather believe in, going to some wonderful paradise for eternity if you follow some rules? Or ceasing to exist after death no matter what you do. people hang on to hope, and religion feeds off hope promising eternal happy life after the struggles of life.
      of course different religions have different rules and philosophy about the afterlife but yeh.

      Spirituality is irrelevant to the idea of a scientific procedure. Since the spirit cannot be proven to exist with current scientific methods, it isn't regarded as an important factor in such a complicated equation. It's not useful to consider, and even if it's correct it'll be supremely easy to justify with reasons grounded in empirical science.

    • @FUSZION
      @FUSZION 8 років тому +1

      You don't need to prove the spirit to theorize!
      Your argument is invalid!

    • @daftpunkfan1209
      @daftpunkfan1209 8 років тому +2

      ***** But for any theory to gain any kind of traction there must be concrete scientific evidence that's impossible to disprove. Empirical data is necessary to proposition a theory. I can theorize that glass is made out of rainbows and air, but that doesn't mean it's anything more than an unsupported (and incorrect) theory. Until the spirit is proven to exist empirically, it remains outside the scope of science and will not be considered a variable in any kind of experiment.

    This all brings me back to how transporters in Star Trek worked... it basically scans your body, breaks it apart and reforms it at the next location, meaning the transporter actually kept a perfect map of your body and memories every time... which meant, everyone in the Star Trek universe who had used a transporter was basically immortal... Scotty trapped himself in a transporter field in one episode of the Next Generation.. since it had his older form only, that's how they brought him back. This would automatically give Star Fleet an advantage in any war, since they could bring back the dead who had used transporters anytime they wanted to.

    It's a creepy premus, and I honestly don't know who would go with it. I have heard of people offering their brain for science once they died, but I don't think that's what they mean. My brain has too many issues for it to be useful to anyone unless they want seizures and brain fluid problems :(

    I've always hated the phrase "playing god" and the idea of something being unnatural. Bitch everything we have is unnatural. You wanna now what happened to humans who were totally natural? They lived to about 30 if they were lucky. So fuck that shit reason. The only reason we shouldn't go through such advancements is if there's an overwhelming possibility of failure and even then,if someones dieing and wants to try who are we to say they cant give it a shot. Even if it'll probably fail they deserve the chance to try. The worst thing that'll happen is death and that's already gonna happen.

    what makes you you is in your brain. get rid of that, and you're not you anymore. as for actually HAVING my brain/head put elsewhere, there would have to be TONS of positive results before I'd allow something so terrifying. my daughter had a biopsy on her spinal cord, and eventually had to have titanium rods placed in her spine to prevent the tumors from causing it to continue to curve. She now has very little feeling left in the majority of her back and neck, and she is in DAILY pain. Now imagine severing your spine, then having your head attached someplace else. I cannot even fathom the pain it could cause from all of that nerve damage, and that's ONLY IF you ever have the ability to move again. Hell no.

      +Oli L if you were given, say, a box of Legos, and someone said "These Legos hold an infinite amount of creative possibilities. Make whatever you want, as long as you don't hurt anyone (I.e. don't leave them on the floor) in the process". Would you say "no, I don't think I will"? We are presented with trillions upon trillions of possibilities in our world to explore and experiment with. Saying one is 'playing god' does not always make sense. If your god gave us all of this, I can't imagine they did so without expecting us to use our minds to utilize the world and explore all possibilities. Otherwise, what is the point?
