    The story about the lone tribesman is really sad. I feel so bad for him, I can't imagine living in my family "neighborhood", so to say, and have everyone gone, but to be so terrified of the outside world, that you would just stay there. That's heartbreaking. I feel so bad for that man.

    • @anonymike8280
      @anonymike8280 7 років тому +18

      Maybe Wiseau could play Cooper in a movie, but he was preschool age when the crime was committed. My theory is that the FBI and other authorities did not particularly want to apprehend and try Cooper. If he had been captured, facts might have come out which would have embarrassed some major person or interest, or which had a bearing on national security. I think the FBI had a pretty good idea who he was. Having assessed him as having low criminal potential, they simply tracked him until he died. I suspect he died relatively young and did not survive into the 1990's. He was emotionally disturbed, obviously, and had the stress of being on the run and constantly having to look over his shoulder. He also smoked and drank. None of these factors contribute to a long life. I think he could have been as old as 45 at the time of the hijacking and probably was in his early 40's in any case. That would have put his year of birth at maybe 1929. Independent investigators recently have discovered physical evidence which possibly links Cooper to some facility where the metal titanium was machined, but the FBI had closed the case shortly before this finding was announced. With the high likelihood that Cooper is deceased it makes legal sense to close the case. But I still don't think the government wants his identity known. I doubt any of the named suspects was Cooper. The motive was not primarily money. Not in my estimation anyway.

    12:50 sounds like he had severe autism, I have aspergers syndrome and everything you said about the boy sounds like a very severe form of typical traits. If he wasn't making up/or so mentally ill that he THOUGHT he was kept under those prison conditions, he was probably either abused by some kind of family or abducted at some very young point of his life... something along these lines anyway, which wont have helped his mental development as he got older. I'm not just talking about autism, he could have had other conditions also not recognised at that time

      @@tannerlawley8435 not quite sure about the magnets, but autistic people with sensory issues are often sensitive to smells and sounds. The intense light and sounds from thunder storms very well could have caused him physical pain, and certain scents can be so intense that they are nauseating. These sensory issues along with his lack of expose to much stimuli throughout his life, can pretty much explain all of it.

    The first story has long been considered a hoax. Or just a fun urban legend. You can search all you want on it but all you will find is a retelling of the same story and no substantial evidence or first-hand accounts. There are some people who say that the story mirrors a short story publication from a magazine printed back in the day but I cannot find a source on this.

      Even if it was true it was probably just some Japanese people not understanding an Andorran. He could have said "Terre D'Andorra" which could be misconstrued as Taured if you're Japanese and speaking to a man speaking French with a Catalan accent. And him leaving with all his belongings could just be him looking for a hotel where the staff understood him.

      I wish I could say yes. But, no. At best we speculated that The Toaster had a way in with a key. There are multiple entrances. To the best of my knowledge, people have been mostly courteous to The Toaster and respected his privacy. However in 2007-2008 some people did try to jump and unmask him! This may have contributed to his retiring. Although we are pretty sure that he is from NY.

    Man from Taured sounds like it's from the paged of a sci-fi novel... .because it is. Short story collection, actually. 1982's "The Directory of Possibilities." Obscure source and the story had been retold as fact so much, you can't be faulted for not knowing. Took a lot of digging to turn up that much.

    In regards to Taured, I have a very interesting theory. First off I must say I am NOT into conspiracies but I firmly believe our government covers up when covert operations are discovered. Now, in 1951 a lot of citizens in the Southern French geographical area, which would include the nation of Andorra, were experiencing a high degree of sickness and paranoia. Initially the cause was blamed on expired ingredients used to make bread but this didn’t make any sense because an entire village in France AND some citizens from Andorra were sickened. Eventually it was revealed that the CIA doped some food products and the water supply with LSD and that was causing the shared symptoms between the two countries since they drew water from the same tributary from the river Taured. This information was kept secret until 2004 when the documents were discovered by journalist H P Albarelli. The cover up was done by US, French, and Swiss authorities. Why the Swiss? Because two Swiss scientists provided two theories to help with the cover up by stating the outbreak was caused by mold. The scientists who produced both alternative explanations worked for the Swiss-based Sandoz Pharmaceutical Company, which was then secretly supplying both the Army and CIA with LSD. Two years after this incident a man named Frank Olson, who worked for the CIA, was unknowingly drugged with an LSD laced drink by two fellow CIA operatives in a New York bar. Later in the evening the three went to a hotel room to continue their drinking but Olson ended up doing a header out the window killing himself. How does this relate to Taured? It proves that the CIA was still experimenting with mind control after Taured. It also proves if the CIA can drug its’ own operatives it can certainly drug civilians. These expriments were the foundation of MK-Ultra. I believe the man from Taured was unwittingly doped and the CIA let him loose brainwashing him into believing he was from a country known as Taured. The complicity of the French is obvious given he was issued a French passport. Just a theory.

      @@TheStudioMouse I believe he was the guinea pig that was given free and safe passage by the CIA. The organization wanted to see if mind control could be achieved and they needed a way to track their experiment. They gave this experimented upon man a code word complete with a "serial number" to quickly identify him. Enter the code word and "serial number" Taured. Once he would arrive at his destination and immigration officials questioned him about his "country" of origin, the CIA would be able to tell their experimented upon subject was where they wanted him to be by using the "country" of origin to be Taured.

    The Poe one sounds like a form of ancestor veneration. Some people believe that if they give offerings like alcohol or show that they remember a person that they can ask for help and inspiration, often people do it not just for blood ancestors but for people they share a goal with or relate to in a struggle or something such as people who died for what they believe in or a famous artist they are inspired by. It's interesting stuff and still practiced.

    Falcon Ellie could have been The Count of Saint Germain.
    I'm surprised that he is not on this list. One of the most mysterious men to have ever lived, and there are several accounts of him existing from famous people. He was extremely old, but looked to be 50. He was a master painter, jeweler, musician, and alchemist. He spoke fluent in several languages (except english), and was able to act like a no-nothing fool, and an all knowing man of high class. He showed up to big parties covered in stylish clothes (which he designed himself). He was friends with *very* famous people who all wrote about him (including the king of france). He even has published music that was very good for it's time that you can still find today. All his work was original, and a lot of his artistic achievements were borderline revolutionary, and he refused to share how he did what he did.

    D.B. Cooper I do wonder if he ended up dead, or made it off somewhere with the rest of the cash. I can't help thinking that demanding 4 parachutes so that it seemed like he may make his hostages jump, was pretty clever of him. That way any ideas authorities might have had about sabotaging a parachute, went out the window. But I don't think he was a 'good guy' or 'hero' the way some people to this day seem to think. He still hijacked a plane, took hostages, and stole money along with other expensive items (parachute, plane time/fuel etc) and traumatized innocent people for his own selfish reasons.
    *The first story needs some real references to prove it isn't simply anecdotal and that t really happened. Even then it's likely a guy like that was trying to sneak into the country and made the story up, maybe had mental illness going on or something like that and managed to sneak away and become an illegal immigrant. But I still say it might have been all just a tall tale. Or someone playing a joke.

      I think the additional parachutes were for him to drop off the money and possibly something he smuggled on board into specific locations only he would know to make it harder to trace, then he goes back and collects it chunk by chunk. Maybe he had a terminal illness and knew he was gonna die and pulled a Heisenberg by committing a crime to leave money for his family after he dies and that's why they never found him
