Two things I really liked.. The pan lube and sizing die, and that once you crimped the bullet, you turned it and crimped again... I still do both of those things.
Thanks, Fuzztfork8 - I'm still waiting on a .432 die for my lubrisizers.
Kinda makes me really appreciate the advancement in reloading.
Throwback reloading is enjoyable, archersfriend. Thanks for watching, way back when!
I have never pan lubed but want to start pan lubing for 45-70, 44 special, and 45 colt. I currently tumble lube for 38 special, 44 special, and 45 colt. My tumble lube recipe is the old alox/bees wax combo. It’s a great tumble lube for up to around 1000 FPS. Awesome video by the way. I also love the skeeter load for 44 special. I use skeeter load with 429421 mold.
I like that bullet too! I often use simple pan lubing for small batches or when I don't have an appropriate die for the lube-sizer. Bees wax and Alox works well for me too.
Hey, That is something you don't see everyday, I had two of those kits from Lee, One was for the .45 cal and another was for the .38/357 cal. Btw, being from Washington the Olympia beer can brings back some memories. My folks liked to do the free tour they gave people at the Tumwater plant back in the day. Dave.
I figured that you might spot the Olympia storage tin, Dave - Thanks!
Heck, I Never even been to Washington state, but have sure had my fair share of Oly.
Beautiful! You’ve assembled a masterpiece. (I’ve never tried pan lube or tumble lube.)
Hello Bacon - thanks for the kind words! I wanted to go with traditionally lubed bullets...the pan lube is all I have until the Lubrimatic die arrves. It was my first time with pan lube - it was a fun experiment.
I love the pan Lube kit
Hello Tim - I grabbed it at a gun show last summer! It allowed me to lube bullets to test while I wait for a .432 Lubrisizer die to arrive from Buffalo Arms. I have a NOE insert to try with powder coated Keith bullets too.
Enjoyed this video quite a bit my friend! Keep it up!
Thanks, Taco! Cleaning up old comments that I hadn't responded to - I'm sure you know the drill.
@@WilliamCChapin oh, of course!
nice bullets !!
The Lyman 429421 is certainly the standard cast bullet for 44 Special.
Well done Sir
Thank you, @MPGunther1, and thanks for watching!
What diameter did the cast bullets show before sizing ? Ive had folks figure well, I will just get a bigger diameter resizer for my needs, when their bullets were already undersize to begin with.
With range scrap poured at 735 degrees on my controller, then water quenched, the bullets in this batch dropped from .431 to .433 diameter.
You really lucked in to get them to cast oversize that much, most are lucky to cast two thousands over the stated diameter..Thanks..
The first batch of bullets I ordered to reload for 44spl are 240gr LSWC. Have you found a particular diameter to do best in these? The ones I ordered were .429 I believe.
.429 is the standard - there may be benefits in choosing a size based on the bore and chamber diameters of your revolver. My GP100 has .4315 chamber throats, so I prefer .432 diameter cast bullets. You'll encounter differing and sometimes conflicting information regarding how to choose the best size.
Thanks for your help on this. It's much appreciated.
How is the forcing cone holding up on your GP100 with the Skeeter loads? Any issues with cracking or erosion?
Hello - I haven't noticed anything while cleaning the revolver. I have run some Blue Dot and H110 loads that exceed The Skeeter Loads - perhaps they could be called Stinger Loads!
Nice fast loading now remember you can’t sale those bullets to any one

sail? :)
Catching up on comments and found this one, Willie. Thanks for watching, way back then!
