The firmware update for the Canon M6 Mark II is finally here! This tutorial will show you how to quickly download and install the new M6 Mark II firmware. Once updated, you can start filming at 24fps, which is considered the most cinematic and natural-looking frame rate for video. This new firmware update for the Canon M6 Mk II could possibly put it in the lead as Canon’s BEST vlogging camera!

► Steps on how to tell if your M6 MK II needs a firmware update, that allows the camera to record in 24fps:
1. Turn on camera
2. Rotate top dial to P as the menu setting are different depending on what dial your on.
3. Go into the tool menu
4. Then scroll to page 5 on the menu
5. Scroll down on the menu to see the firmware of your camera
6. If it shows 1.0.1 then it’s the old firmware, if it shows 1.1.0 then it’s the new firmware
7. If you have the old firmware then keep on watching!

8. Format your card.
9. Charge your battery 100%
10. Go to Canon site to download the 1.1.0 firmware: www.usa.canon.com/internet/po...
11. Select the version you want (Windows or Mac)
12. Agree to the terms of the disclaimer and press download.
13. Copy the M6200110.FIR file to your SD card.
14. Safely eject the card from the computer.
15. Make sure your camera is off.
16. Take off any lens you have on on the camera and cover your sensor with the body cap.
17. Insert the battery and SD card into the camera.
18. Turn the camera mode dial to P mode.
19. Turn the camera on.
20. Press menu button, go to wrench menu #5 Firmware
21. Select OK
22. Wait for Firmware update program to load. You will see Loading... on your LCD.
23. Once Firmware update program shows up select set button to continue.
24. Update Firmware? will show on LCD. Select OK
25. Updating now. Will show on LCD with a % Done progress bar.
26. DO NOT turn off the power or touch any buttons during download.
27. Download will take a few minutes.
28. Once download is complete the LCD screen will turn black and turn back on.
29. ONLY WHEN THE DOWNLOAD IS COMPLETE turn off the camera. Take out the battery for 5 sec. Reinsert the battery, turn the camera back on and you should be good to go with 1.1.0 updates including the 24fps. video option in 4k and 1080p.
30. If you cant see the 24fps option check that you switched the camera to NTSC from PAL in the tool menu under video settings.
