But I know I wouldn't in my roof because removing screws in a roof that has been there for decades, you might deal with warped framework, worn holes, removing the metal (likelihood of minor accidents), any imperfect craftsmanship. Rather be safe and get it done with this, especially if current roof is overall holding up.
