I only knew this dude from Queen Elvis and Oceanside. Both were cassettes I picked up from Target years later when they were going to get rid of them. Years later I bought this for $5 at a gd KROGER! When I first played this I heard this and just lost it😢Beautiful beautiful song
This song had long been a favorite of mine, but only after buying this DVD and hearing this intro did I understand the imagery of "where angels hover".
Not knowing the release date of this, if it is before 1991 I think Mr J Squires nicked the riff for The Roses 2nd album can't think of the tracks name.
For having so much talent, Robyn Hitchcock has always been the genuine article. He's always been 100% himself and has never sold out.
Cant believe so few comments under this one. Beautiful song. A musicians musician is what i call this guy, absolutely breathtaking player imho....
I will have this song played at my funeral.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Probably one of my top 5 songs which still blows me away every time I do listen to it, even 30+ years later...
The cynicism of the intro combats the idealism of the song, itself. Superb.
Thanks for putting words to the thoughts...
Through all the years through all the trends and fashion washouts this man's sound has endured.
One of my absolute favs by RH. Gorgeous melody.

I fell in love with rh the first time I heard his voice. Invisible Hitchcock was the 2nd cd i ever bought. His music sooths me like little else.

I always thought it was "harbor" not "hover" until I recently saw him. It's hands down, my favorite song of his.
My fav from Robyn Hitchcock!!!!
I don't know about you, but I enjoyed the traffic cone.

Love this version!
