- This is the first night of the 2023 Southern Street Stock Nationals, a Ultimate Street Stock Challenge Race being hosted by Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian Ms. We started out with a car that was too free and needed adjustment to get better lap times. We made several changes including changing out the Left Front shock, adding preload to the left rear chain, and tightening up the left front chain.
Dirt Race Life is all about grass roots Dirt Track Racing both the technical how to and the at track action with us focusing on Street Stock Racing like CRUSA SS, Factory Stock, Pure Street, Stock, Etc.

Enjoy your channel. Great insight on what the cat is doing and how to fix it. Good stuff 👊🏁👊 best of luck to you and your wife.
Thank you Mike.
Don’t forget to trail brake . The last run was the best ! 👍
Exactly!
The motor sounds really good.
First time in my life I have ever said "whoa, ok that's too much power"
I’m so excited to see what you do this weekend Jason, you have put so much into it and brought us along for the journey. Although I’m not there in person know I’m rooting for you, go get ‘em
Kind words Jason and much appreciated
Decreasing lf rebound is going to free you more.
Next time you’re on scales, chain the car at ride height. Check bite
Chain the car below ride height. Check bite
The lower the lf ride height, the more lr bite. Rebound in a shock just decreases average ride height.
This is why you thought you needed to bring LR bite back up after that run. Whoever does the best job managing wedge(cross) has the best car.
I put the rebound shock back on the lf. Yep, it helped last night. I am listening bud and appreciate your insight.
@@DIRTRACELIFE glad that worked. All about wedge man. All these cars are so close because they’re all really close on springs and shocks. Just gotta tune wedge better than them.
Which isn’t really that hard to do, many of them can’t tune it effectively yet without going the “wrong way” sometimes
Go get em
We really enjoy watching your channel. You have the best personality and look like you’re having the time of your life! 👍 Are you going to be at the Fall Classic at Whynot?
Thank you! We definitely want to go, but there are a couple other major races this fall as well, and we have to make the budget work as well as timing.
Go get ‘em
Thank you sir!
Good luck
Thank you
Best of luck! Motor sounds good...race hard it's a big show to be in
Yes sir, thank you
See you in the winner circle
I am tryin.
Good luck bud! I think my youngest brother and nephew will hunt you up!
I'll be looking for them tomorrow
Jason thank you for that video. Dam there are alot of cars overthere. I am sure that track will be changing alot. Stay on top of it. Be careful and good luck. Watch the heat for sure
Could tell it was hotter today but they are saying tomorrow is going to be dangerous hot 🔥
Good luck Jason love to see u win this race
Shoot me to, but dang zjunior these guys are seriously rolling. We are sure faster than last year but still need more speed.
More left rear gona make you freer getting in ? I think I would go to the right front if you looking for drive ?
Yes, I agree, I needed to come up some on the left rear but found out how much too much was. Thinking your right Dana. If I need more I'll jack it into the front.
Sure wished I was there. Worked out there years back, and that was always a super event. Sure hope you brought your state flag. That's always awesome. Everyone on the track with their flags flying!
I think you're on track with the handle. It will end up taking rubber. So account for that.
Best of luck sir.
That was a good video I left my buddy borrow my car 2 weeks ago cuz he tore his up real bad first night in it miss the heat but started 23rd in the feature got up to 8 th last weekend he got seventh in the feature and we think need just a little bit more bite off the corner so think we're going to try what you did see if that helps us a little but good info buddy have a good weekend
Thank you Rick, you too!
You drive with one hand, A habit I got into years ago with trans jumping out of gear. Just feels odd to drive with 2 now. Car looks and sounds good, Go get it !!
Thanks Bud.
ya learn stuff every trip out
Yes sir, hoping to learn all lot over this next couple days!
Got fast
Trying
good luck tonight I'll be watching Live tonight
Bunch a cars here Chase.
Are they streaming the race or are you going in person
Good luck this weekend. I’ve got a question for you. When you tried the heavier leaf on the right side of your Camaro did it seem to do better or was it better before? Thanks love your stuff
It's better, when I drove it, I could tell it was really planting the RR. I am going a bit further now and going to a 225RR and 175LR. We will see
Thanks for the reply! This year I went from metric to leaf and didn’t know anything about them. I’ve learned a lot from you and truly appreciate your content. Good luck I hope you can put the J2 in the big show!
I hate that center off push like
That at speed lol it feels so helpless lol I’d rather be spinning out loose over that
Yeah, I solved all that tonight and the car was good but needed more driver and some more drive too.
Do u have any 5xlt shirts
I tried and my supplier says they do but they are always out of stock. I kinda forgot about you Junior but me and Rachel are gona hook you up one way or the other.
Sounds like pulling to much gear
633 gear, tonight I was able to get it hooked into the track at time and it spun to 7200 which is right where I want this engine. But hard to get the car to hook in with all this engine on that short gear.
De tune little
Likely going to do just that.. .

The cars with no roofs look like a float in a gay parade.
Not a fan of the no roof. There are several of us that left our roofs on.
