Bobby could have hired a thousand different drivers with more experience and more cash to bring to the table. Tanner didnt approach Bobby, Bobby approached Tanner because he sees a class act that comes from a a really hard working family team that has done quite well given their limited experience. Keep in mind, Tanner is driver, crew chief, and mechanic on his car . His crew is his sister, Mom and Dad and I believe they added one other guy this year. That in and of its self is incredible. Bobby made a great choice, I really hope Tanner gets to show everyone how talented he is and shut up the critics.

I love Jacob Allen, he’s probably my favorite “outlaw” by far so I I’ve been really bummed but also supportive of what’s goin on this year. I had a feeling someone else would be in the car but when I saw it was Tanner my day brightened up a lot. Good fit for a bunch of great guys on a good team🖤❤️

An awesome young man, but one who I really thought needed that little bit more to take the next step. A step that Tanner could only move towards with a team like Bobby’s with the experience they have. It’s actually pretty cool being a fan of a team owner who then asks a young driver who you’ve been watching for a few years, to driver for him in my favourite series on the planet. Thank you to both of you, you both have a very proud fan over here in Australia!

@@Alan-n6u8b There aren't many drivers that aren't old enough to drink that have WoO wins. I won't be surprised if he doesn't get a WoO win (or even a top 5) in the car because it's a tough gig, but it seems like he's pretty young to be dumping on so early in his career and it makes you sound really bitter.
It's not like Jacob Allen was doing great in the car, so if Tanner can keep the car in features and not tear up a bunch of stuff then the experience he will gain and the extra eyes he will bring to the car should make this a successful venture for both parties.

Tanner Holmes has been racing and winning for 5 years, only 2 years in a sprint car, being family run he tries not to wreck all the time. With a faster car, somebody elses money, and the go get it mentality, you might get the next yung money, sliced bread, or humble pie. There is a small chance he may fail, but i would not take that bet. He has ran outlaw shows in his stuff and finished well, i think with house money, stronger equipment he will get his due. Winning is the main goal. Getting recognized outside of winning is a racer.
Tanner is s tremendous individual, wholesome, nice, conservative.
Maybe this will grow him into a new sensation.
Been a fan since '17, he has alot of content and a channel on UA-cam, he talks you through each race no fluff, just in your face, great kid, man, driver and person.

Yes, Chili Bowl was a rent a ride with CBI, money well spent too. He ran pretty good for 1st time in a midget and got his name out there. The Shark opportunity is a legit ride that Tanner was asked to race for them by Bobby Allen. Not sure why so many people crap on Tanner, he's a nice guy, runs people clean, well spoken, great for sponsors, works hard on his own cars, its really weird.

Tanner and Carly as well both literally work their asses off 24/7 year round to do what they do. Their parents also work their asses off right along with them. For anyone to claim this is a rent a ride, you're just dead wrong! This ride was earned by his merits, accomplishments, his humilty and any sponsor would love to have him. He has a bigger following than many professional racers, and he will be a champion someday, mark my words! 👍

I'm puzzled at the Tanner Holmes pick as the driver for the 1a but its not my car or money so what the hell do i care. It seems like the kid doesnt mind getting his hands dirty and he has his head screwed on tight. Even if its daddys money who cares, Tanner needs to take this opportunity and learn everything he can, Bobby can teach this youngman everything from driving to ownership. I could not agree more, Bobby saw something in tanners ability and from his angle tanners eastern swing was over and they were packing up to head home. Bobby is no slouch to sprint cars, he saw an opportunity to fill an immediate open seat on his team. Tanners father is not going to stand in tanners way to improve and continue to develop into a top tier driver. It was a need that both parties will benefit from. I don’t see this as a Permenente situation unless things change with Jacob Allen. We all need to respect the action taken with Jacob and the need to take a brake, hope to see him back in the seat of the 1A, and seeing Bobby mentor Tanner the short time he has the rest of the season! Tanner is mature way beyond his years and is comfortable in front of a camera and that helps in those annoying interviews. Being able to just get in and drive is a big deal. If I heard right in the interview (watching with my kids lol) he said his own seat wouldn’t fit so he had a different seat? Seems small to most but a driver has to be comfortable in the seat as well with the feel of the car. He will do great things once he’s comfy.

Tanner won't be the problem. The issue will be the resources available to Bobby. If he has them he can make speed. If all Tanner is getting is Logan's leftovers you can bet that might be a problem. I look at a different way. Tanner doesn't lack for fresh engines and spares. I wouldn't blame him if he transferred some of the 18t resources to the 1A. This is still a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that Tanner earned and it's no secret that Bobby Allen is fast if he has resources. I don't think that's buying a ride. I think that's being given a ride on Merit and choosing to Juice It Up to to the max to get the most out of the potential of the Tanner Bobby partnership.

Patrick Mahomes didnt walk on the field as a perfect QB and Steph Curry spent thousands of hours on Bball. Haters are stupid. Race fans across all motorsports are fighting for their specific vehicle to continue against environmentalists and tree hugger bureaucracy. Stop all the public belittling. You just make it easier for your local track to get shut down. Road course, straight track, off road or super speedway. Motorcycle, drag car, offroad or sprint. Wing or non wing. I wish Tanner Holmes the best. And so should you. If he succeeds, it means the sport you love is still in existence.

Your Title "rent A Ride"... so what if it is? Many people would be surprised by how many people "pay" for rides. Doesnt matter what series you race - nascar, world of outlaws, USAC, Indy Car, etc... many rides are paid for through bringing in your own sponsorships money or bring your own money in. Its life in racing.

That's why all those Series you listed are a joke. Most the top dirt late model and sprint car teams bring their own money and sponsors.. then pick a driver that will win races.. so that winning can add on and pay the bills.. or a million dollars.. like his team mate won.. and Davenport did last year. Dirt is the only one left where talent has a chance.. the rest is a joke.. especially NASCAR..5 mill at 16 to even be considered in today's society as a driver. Good thing dirt isn't completely dominated by their business model. USAC/Midgets are the only one INFESTED with that way of doing things. Which is why most in dirt consider that division a joke in itself.

I don't think there is any such thing as ride renting in sprint car racing.
