@Arthur Fonzarelli Young people today are way more isolated and lonely than kids in 70s/80s/90s - before social media. Narcissistic women are known for being terrible to ride in the car with. Specifically complaining about not wanting to hear a song or chewing too loud are also classic controlling behaviors. If he was so bothered by her in the car that he faked a call with a friend to get rid of her, that is really saying something about how low this girl was.
Louis is my fav podcast guest; Doesn’t matter the podcast. I’m sure one of the hardest parts of being a host is keeping your guests comfortable, for both the sake of the show and for the guest. On Joe especially, you can tell when the host is kind of putting their neck out there to level the playing field. Louis just bypasses that. He has a way of making The host know, “you can chill, this’ll be a good time”, from the very jump. Diologue opens up, badabing badaboom, joe rogan talks about lying to his ex so he can ditch her.

Honestly, the women in my family are like this and it is sooo annoying. They do it with adult husbands & kids. And it should qualify as abuse. because its soo infuriating. And i often worry about repeating the same behavior. Honestly its better to get out, because eventually they just start doing that in front of everyone, and its humiliating. Ive seen my aunt do this to her partner, and honestly if i was in his position i would just leave.
It's hard to find the right one. Some find one out of nowhere and get lucky. Some find them decades later. Some get abused. Some get cheated on. Some people die before they find the right one. I feel people see relationships as a fantasy. Like once you find someone, everything will be smooth sailing. Not saying there aren't good people out there. But it seems rare to find a good balanced relationship. Especially when you're in your twenties and thirties. And a lot of people don't even try to learn about having a healthy relationship. They just wing it. Which seems to be a big reason they fail.
The right one for us are many people . The problem is the soul doesn’t match the body we desire and chose the latter in a partner. Getting 2for2 is hard
I get embarressed hearing stories like this because it reminds me of times where I just didn't get it. For example one time during a date where the guy seemed to be enjoying himself said he had to get home cos his flatmate had locked himself out. But I said that's ok, let's go let him in and find somehwere nearby. But we got there and he had managed to have found his key by then... we had a few more drinks and then I must have realised deep down I was being ridiculed. I tried to leave but he talked me into staying. It was a disaster. I realised weeks later what had happened and I'm ashamed to this day. The truth is better for everyone no matter how embarressing it is.
You have nothing to be ashamed of, at least in my opinion. You were trying your best. If someone is ridiculing you that is their problem and not yours. Process over perfection. I'm really sorry that happened btw.
could have happened to anyone..! sometimes we just don't vibe with other people or like them too much, or we're simply too close to it so we can't see the whole situation. sure, its important to stay aware all the time, but damn, things happen. he should offer to walk you home or to your transportation situation;) that would be way kinder I think. I know that feeling tho, but it's good to let it go.:)
I had a girlfriend pretend her mother was coming over for a weekend and she didnt have time to see me, she was even talking to me like "oh yea we are about to go get food in a min talk to you later!" turns out she and her mother hadnt spoken in like 10 years, I found all this out years later when I caught her in a lie about it.

💯 Him mentioning Tower Records was definitely one from my childhood. It wasn't so much a music store as a place to experience and share culture in a way that just doesn't happen now. It's one thing to have all the music at your finger tips, it's another entirely to walk in, hear a song you love for the first time, ask someone about it and leave the store with the album in hand.
01:52 I used this trick so many times, after I'd have sexy time with a girl and then she'd want to hang around and watch a movie, or get something to eat, etc. The old "Oh shit, I forgot I have to pick up ___ from the airport!" routine would get them out of my house. 😂
when I was younger I thought I was slick if I got a girl to come over instead of going to their place bc it saved me the trip. Now I realize it's worth the trip bc you can just leave.

If he was so bothered by her in the car that he faked a call with a friend to get rid of her, that is really saying something about how low this girl was.
Dude shut up
Louis is my fav podcast guest; Doesn’t matter the podcast.
My 1st car was a Datsun B210 1981 with a sunroof!👣loved that car!;
For once, Joe puts the headphones on with the cable on the correct side (Left)…. Thats been driving me bonkers for a long time😆
Louis misses the different types of “movie theaters” that used to be in New York, lol this dude is a dedicated master of baiting
sounds like you speak from experience
@@DanielBoonelight before you can be a master fisherman you must first learn to be a master baiter
@@TH3DUDE0075 yea i got the juvenile pun the first time, unlike yourself who didn't perceive my subtext. anyway good day, louie's one of the great comedians of history.
Who are they talking about in the beginning?
Louis being raised without a dad explains everything
Amazing Joe could make a living out of doing standup back then.
Amazing that he's ever been paid to be funny.
Back then there were a lot less funny comedians. Most just had gimmicks. So the bar was low then lol
The funny thing about joe is that he’s not self aware of luck.
More people used to hang out at bars. A couple of hundred bucks for a standup gig would go a long way. You could easily live on this.
@@cicolasnage5684 the funny thing about you is that you don't realize for people like JR there is no such thing is luck. They just keep working until they find their niche. I fully agree his stand-up is so- so. Doesn't matter. Basically he monkey-branched from stand-up to supporting actor on decent sit-com to host on novelty show and finally podcasting cashed in on podcasting gig before every DList celebrity emulated his example. Dude was and is never the best at these formats, but he tries new shit and used work ethic to stand out in a then novel format until Spotify rendered up his FU money that you and those like you envy him for.
Who are they talking about at the start of this video?
Everyone's life story would make one of the best movies you ever did see. Enjoy the ride people. You know deep down that your life and thoughts will have its premier in front of every being that ever lived in the universe one day.
This is an amazing comment! I too believe that at some point, we will all have access to look back and observe every moment of history to see how God was orchestrating EVERYTHING to achieve His objective. (I'm coming from a Christian perspective.)
I love this, I grew up 2 towns away and totally feel for them!
Brighton!?
@@jasonw.9136Natick
I remember those years in NYC. Part of me wishes I could go back.
Hell…I’ve broken up with the GPS lady…can’t tell me what to do.
Love Louis
Lol my 20s are consumed with intense academia… but personally I don’t regret it and I’m having a great time.
he just descibed every sub culture - mine was being an E dealer in bangkok in the 90s - same shift - same 4 am spot
living Miles Davis' life
You know, SHE CAN HEAR YOU
Man that life they described took me back to my late teens and early 20s. So much freedom.
Sigh...
I hate it here but I have had a lot of freedom for awhile
I’m 25 right now… When you say freedom what do you mean more so? Explain… Any advice?

Hang out in Manhattan and go to Star dnner in Mount Vernon for a burger? That's a long schleep.

“All my dogs have been woman, I respect them”
I get embarressed hearing stories like this because it reminds me of times where I just didn't get it.
What did you do Angie? :D
I don't get it; but then, I suck at reading between the lines.
Did you have sex with them and now regret it?
"ive lied to a lot of people" LMFAOOO dude im in tears.... louis is so effortlessly funny, he's not even trying and he's spitting pure verbal comedic gold, like idk if he realizes this, he cannot be a dull person..EVER, its a character that I think only he possesess. we do not deserve Louis, he's too good
Ok calm down
I would like to inform you that I have subscribed, simply because you upload in HDR/HLG. Well done
"I don't want to hear this music"
It's my car. And you're not my mom
Louis ck's last statement is so true. This country is losing its culture big and small. I hate a lot of gentrification- there is no where to go out to eat past 9 o clock it feels like. Im 25 now and i can feel how much has changed even a little bit before the pandemic
Star Diner in White Plains, NY. Been there many times after a few drinks.
"I was raised by a single mother."

Guys if you like this...The Black Phillip Show is the greatest thing ever
01:52 I used this trick so many times, after I'd have sexy time with a girl and then she'd want to hang around and watch a movie, or get something to eat, etc. The old "Oh shit, I forgot I have to pick up ___ from the airport!" routine would get them out of my house. 😂
when I was younger I thought I was slick if I got a girl to come over instead of going to their place bc it saved me the trip. Now I realize it's worth the trip bc you can just leave.
Who are they talking about at the beginning?
Joan Rivers ?
I really miss Louis CK as a TV show creator.
All my dogs are “women”. All my women are “…..”
Opened ended 😂quotes. Classic.
All 3 of my dogs have all been female. Totally relate bro.
Whos the hot jewish lady they're talking about? Just was curious since they didn't mention her name here.
I wanna know too so I'm tagging along.
Curious too.
@@BbGun-lw5vi I'm wondering if they mean young Joan Rivers?
They're talking about Mitzi shore. Pauly Shore's Mom. She owned and ran the comedy store for decades. She died relatively recently. Within the last 5-10 years or so.
@@MisticStyles You sure? Did you see the earlier parts of the podcast? Mitzi was very cute but I got the feeling they were talking about a comic. Mitzi is the all-time curator of the modern comedian. But I have a hard time seeing Rogan refer to her in any way other than motherly or at least much older sisterly.
Marriage is 99 percent timing
love the reflections on NYC in 1990s. I was there in 90-91 and it was such a great shithole. if only i could do that again!
Oh dude! I had that Datsun. It was a great car, would go anywhere but it was as ugly at 10 miles of dirt road.
Im :23 into the vid & had to pause. Did Louis just call his mom "funny & sexy"?
Men describing their exes as too strong and too smart for them is really something. Makes you wonder what they like about their wives 👀
Did you miss the parts where he also described her as domineering, annoying, rigid and a bitch? Might be a clue in there for you regarding what he likes about his wife.
@@boreopithecus yeah umm... not a bitch.😂

I knew joe is the type of guy who fake calls a friend to get out of situations 😂
who were they talking about in the first 30 seconds? they didn't name anyone
Louis to this day misses his favorite girlfriend (she is French) Le'lotion'on
3:12 I have a friend from college exactly like that. She is strong, very rigid, accomplished & smart woman with a PhD in Artificial Intelligence. She is also extremely annoying because of her rigid beliefs & unwillingless to show real emotions or vulnerablity. I drove with her on a trip and decided never again :D Obviously she has a very hard timing dating. I hope she changes or else she's gonna be a crazy lonely cat lady.
I think she's gonna know you're talking about her.
I didnt realize how old Joe looked until he talked about being a teenager.
Comedy: It's a joke to call it work
*The sad truth is that if women faced the same limitations on (and consequences for) their words and behavior that men do ... the divorce rate would be cut in half.*
He must really not like her, to have called her a bitch on his popular show. not cool. Unprofessional. But to me, he looks exactly like you would expect the guy who says exactly those type of things, to
Bet shes still single.
Or a big fat single mother..😂
Joe looks stoned to the gills lol
It's embarrassing when you're in your twenties let alone pushing 60.
Dennis is tons of fun at parties
westway diner could be a great sit-com
Joe Rogan never told a joke
I was head over heels for this one girl when I was 19 but either I had a girl, or dated her friends, or either she had a man and it never worked out. We reconnected when I was 35....hell no. She wasn't the same girl. She became annoying. She had become the type of girl that would drink too much and then heckle comedians.
" I was finally a professional comedian...." well that's the funniest thing Roidgain has ever said.....
