Your video gave me to courage to replace the power steering fluid in my 2011 Chevrolet Traverses. I disconnected the return line from the PS reservoir and instead of pushing another tube into it I used a 3/8 ID coupler to connect a 3/8 ID clear tubing, I purchased both at Home Depot. The owners manual specifies a part number for the fluid, that part number was replaced by P/N 19329448 for a 1qt container or 19329450 or 16oz containers. Since I flushed the old fluid out I used almost 2qt
What size diameter is the small black hose and the size of the red hose? Good helpful video!
Love ur videos, i Just did this to my 2008 gmc Acadia. Now it sounds worse, any ideas as to why?
Thank you very much.
excellent work
please I have chevy traverse 2010
if i want change power steering fluid how much a capacity power steering fluid use
thank you for a video and excellent work
+hacatan24 1 QT should be enough, however, we recommend checking your owner's manual. Thanks for the question.
Can you also use a, Vaccum fluid extractor. Instead of turning the car on
Hello, how do i flush the system if my 2015 gmc terrain 3.6L V6 does NOT have a return hose on the reservoir? It only had one hose going down to the pump which is the hose facing back towards the rear of the vehicle. There is no hose line on the front of the reservoir.
What size diameter is the small black hose and the size of the red hose?
Gracias
+Brian21 morales M Thank you!
I'm very confused about power steering fluid. Does 2010 traverse take acdelco p/s fluid or dexon VI Transmission fluid? Current fluid color is dark red. Local dealer said my car takes acdelco p/s fluid(no color) instead of dexon VI(red color).
checking your car manual is the best way to find out what your car needs.
Power steering fluid only, unless you changed your steering gears, and rack and pinion. If you add that to old parts the seals will swell and leak causing more problems. If you just change your power steering pump still just use powersteering fluid.
I hv traverse 2010. I am replacing new rack n pinion....i should also use Dexron 6....its book says gm power steering fluid...i m in saudia arabia and petromin says to fill with dexron 6...pl advise
+shoaib mehmood Thank you for watching! You should use whatever the owner's manual says to use, unless the manufacturer of the rack and pinion calls for something else.
If you add Dexron 6 to old rack and pinion or steering gears they will swell and leak,if you just changed the parts to new GM recommends Dexron 6,if you just changed the power steering pump only use Powersteering fluid GM recommends.
At the dealership they said my 2007 Acadia took regular power steering fluid not atf
The AC Delco GM power steering fluid is definitely not red
Que tipo de aceite es ?
transmission Dex/Mercon VI
Power steering fluid
ATF...??? For steering wheel???
David N yes very common
Right, wtf?
Nothing new
Should be clear liquid. Mine is clear
Yes - Old school. However, some makers have become more fine tuned such as Japanese auto makers that now use different specs of PS fluid.
