Ha, same. I've not done modelling for 35 years. The beauty of the internet is all the amazing ideas, tips, suggestions and methods a mere click away. None of that in 1985, you were on your own.
Well David, after retiring from full sized aviation, I have returned to modeling since viewing your videos. I feel I have the skill set now to build all 4 of the Papagui sqdn 190’s. Thanks for inspiring a retired aviator!
After I saw the sheer amount of work you put into the cockpit instruments alone... I was absolutely floored, and my jaw remained firmly in the fully open position throughout the entire video. Your dedication and eye for detail is next level! Bravo sir!
David complains the model doesn’t have enough details....we jump for joy because that means we get to see a master craftsman at work!!! Another amazing job my friend, well done!!!!
I was a fine-scale IPMS-USA modeler many years ago. I have seen amazing talent and artistic skills. But nothing I saw or experienced can match the artistry of David Damek. I have no other words. Respect!
The D model is my favorite of all time as well. It was Corsairs as a kid, then progressed straight to the FW-190D. Some pilot opinion that test flew them after the war say it was the best piston aircraft of the war. Love the lines and that camo.
I have built this exact kit before, with all the proper paints and tools. My end result resembled what PLASMO's version would look like if he had to build it in the dark, using only Elmer's glue and crayons, hanging upside down, and using only one arm. You are an artist. Beautiful rendition of a classic warbird.
I can't stress enough a sincere thank you for giving us the small details in the form of psi, product/ tool name, nozzle sizes, etc.. these are descriptions and tips we need. Thank you!
Turned out beautifully, I love all the details you put into your projects! That's what sets you apart from all these other channels. I especially liked the rivet decals, super cool.
David, your models are way above "museum quality" & definitely art. Its as though you shrunk a real, full-scale Fw-190 in some kind of sci-fi machine to 1:32 scale. Incredible.
Great job. As before you remind me of dads approach to modeling. Of course much has been learned since he did this in 1970 I remember this aircraft in a very small scale he modified it by adding bullet strafing damage. There was inner structure visible. It was a challenge by guys he destroyed on a regular basis at modle builders competitions. His response he told them to supply the kit and he would enter it the next years competition. They gave him a $1.00 snap kit of a FW-190 Also his favorite. He presented it in a field fueling diorama he once again won first. Place mom said it ended up in a museum in Wisconsin. He died shortly after. That in January of 1971. If he were still alive you would have known him.
Great scale, gorgeous aircraft, legendary modeller. I’m going to hit that like button after one second. Seriously though, thats some awesome work. Keep it up!
I fly giant scale scratch built R/C WWII fighters and before building a new aircraft I always buy a scale plastic model kit of it and enjoy building it on a couple of rainy days. They are getting so expensive now though and since I lost my job after the company I worked for shut down, I just can't afford them when struggling to make bills! Plus I have an old muscle car that I will never be done building and it is more important to me right now! I just subscribed! I enjoyed watching you make incredible scale detail, some people don't realize how much better a little bit of scale detail makes their R/C planes look too. It doesn't have to look perfect either, airplanes get dirty, oily, and greasy in combat conditions, it's what we call "stand off scale" if it isn't "exact scale" or "museum scale" and those aren't normally flown.
Great build! you're the first guy that I see who is capable to effectively use those positive decals, I also never did 1/32 scale aircraft, I think I should try. thanks for the video and for the inspiration.
I built a wooden kayak to tool around in the marsh. I used these colors to paint it including all the random brush marks. When I get out of my kayak to walk a bit and return, it is amazingly hard to see the kayak. The colors superbly blend in with the real world.
HOLY cow man! You are a detail fiend. Such patience and precision you have. I love every second. I used to build Tamaya 1/134 scale models and get very detailed as well when I was younger with better eyesight. A+++ Those seatbelts blew me away.
OMG! I can’t believe how much detail you can put into these models! I’ve put together quite a few 1/48 scale WW2 aircraft but got disappointed because I couldn’t put the detail I wanted into it. I had no idea you could buy so much aftermarket parts for them but the skill you have just knocks it into another level. Mind blown.

Unreal, truly an inspiration, and I am an airline pilot and ex-Canadian Bush Pilot and your painting is way better than the paint jobs on the "Special Livery" we have on our planes. Brilliant work!!

i love the way you get all the detail to stand out no matter how small
Every time I see a message from UA-cam with Plasmo, I cannot wait to get half an hour of free time to watch it.
