    GREAT question here from our PPA IG @projectpureathlete (Join to Ask yours)
    Should we be training Strength or Technique and how to know? Short answer....you need BOTH, but the question is which one should ALWAYS be a part of the equation for jumping higher?
    TECHNIQUE! The best jumpers are the ones that jump often (barring injury of course).
    We have helped thousands of athletes around the world from beginner to pro jump higher on the spot with our famous Jump Technique Approach.

    Strengths is needed in every sports, however the technique is needed to be mastered by all in order to make excellent result

    Coach Ty have you found a certain strength threshold to train for? For example in the sprint world a relative strength of X percent bodyweight stops transferring to improved sprint times. Does such a threshold of relative strength exist for jumping in your experience? My guess is strength might stop transferring to approach jump improvement at some point before it does standing jumps?

    Would landing like this as a shot blocker not cause a net violation in volleyball?

    Tyler one question, if I were to compare myself to one or multiple jumpers techniques, who should I compare it to?

    hey tyler, is there a general rule of thumb for how much your full approach jump should be greater than your standing / counter movement jump?

    Quick question: Have you ever heard of/ or possibly seen Equestrian Vaulting?
    The reason I ask is because while we don’t have a lot of situations where jumping height or power is very necessary, but we do have to mount our horses from the ground at a slow run. However, we don’t have any help from arm swing like volleyball players and our speed is limited by the pace of the horse. Our foot work is also different. I will try to find a video and link it here if possible. ( ua-cam.com/video/8aPKLUfUye8/v-deo.html ) (this video shows the mount on the barrel, which is our off-horse training and accounts for roughly 90% of practice time) ( ua-cam.com/video/FiJxEcTSLYg/v-deo.html ) ( this video shows the mount on the horse and explains the mechanics and restrictions of the mount ) But do you have any advice for increasing power and height with those restrictions?

    Definitely agree, I have fit friends that are stronger than me and weigh way less that can’t grab the rim. And I’m this fat 5’11 33 year old that can still grab the rim.

    If technique is the most important , can almost everyone end up jumping 38 inches with technique only?

    • @mitsukitouya7989
      @mitsukitouya7989 Рік тому

      obviously no , that is where strength plays in , technique is like maximizing your power to show more output for example if u dont have proper technique like u dont know how to run up properly , to make momentum and make it flow upwards so you jump higher , u get like 20 inches and then when u have proper technique you'll have a lot of inches added to that 20 inch vertical

    • @mitsukitouya7989
      @mitsukitouya7989 Рік тому

      but it's also obvious if you're practicing your technique consistently you'll be able to train your strength through that but not as efficient , repetitive jumping obviously makes you jump higher
