Of all the things on GT that made me question "why" the main one was "Why didn't Bulma give them more dragon radars?" She has almost limitless resources now and she's shown making the radar to be somewhat effortless. If they are sending a group far off into space, they will have difficulty replacing essential equipment. The Dragon Radar being the most essential of them all because a spaceship is somewhat replaceable but the dragon radar is not (though it would still be good if Bulma had fitted the ship with spare parts of its most essential machinery. Trunks supposedly would be capable of repairing the ship then.) Aren't we lucky Gill actually absorbed the radar instead of just destroying it?
Just call him Giru. It's a best way to get the pun of "he's named after the sound he makes". It's also how I remember him being called in the Latin American dub.

The art and character designs in GT were amazing, easily my favorite thing about the show overall, though I wasn't a fan of how dark everything looked to the point Goku got a tan.
@@justinarzola4584 that actually wasn’t because of GT’s color palette. Toriyama himself made 2 GT Goku designs. One with a tan and the classic GT Goku outfit, and one without a tan and the outfit colors inverted. Toriyama chose to go with the tan and Toei listened to him.
I like the fight with Redjic. Goku simply turning Super Saiyan to defeat an enemy is cheap in a vacuum, but it works very well for the first proper fight of the new series, requiring some effort on his side but not having to go all out yet. If anything this gives the form more weight as a trump card.
I get what you're saying but I don't think pan not wearing the dress is entirely out of character. She's a somewhat rebellious, tom boy, child. So it would make sense that she doesn't want to be the bait, trap the enemy, and finds it funny to put trunks and Goku in a dress (like a child would find funny). Great stuff as always, Lance
The giant planet is along the lines of what I THOUGHT I would get with the premise... Going to some planet that's creatively different to what the characters are used to and them figuring it out and finding dragon balls as they explore them. Unfortunately, the writers are not nearly creative enough to make it work. Really is a shame. The Zoonama episodes just left me wanting to go back and watch the first arcs of Dragon Ball.
If the planet's inhabitants are supposedly named after money, "Gill" would likely be a reference to "gil", the currency used in the Final Fantasy series.
I thought Trunks said after meeting with the first family that they shouldn’t interfere with the way they do things here and it was only after the meeting with with second family Pan decided she had enough and was going to do something about it anyway.
Yes, he did. I don't feel I dispute that here. I maintain it's a weird, unsatisfying structure to have that as a roadblock only to repeat the same call to action, only to have it work this time. Besides, if that is the setup, that Trunks is the holdout, you don't need Pan, the character who already wanted to be involved, be the catalyst. You need Trunks to come around, but that never happens. He just... is now, and his earlier objections fade into the mist.
I think Ledgic is a bad trend that started with modern Dragon Ball, that because the characters are Saiyans, that on itself makes the alien characters interested in fighting them. However, if there is one thing Super did better than GT, if only by little, is establishing why the bad guys find Saiyans interesting. Ledgic is just a big "must mention it just because the audience knows what it is", ignoring all the established backstory involved. Honestly I would prefer the bad guys just appreciate the heroes for who they are, not for their race.
"Alien aerobics instructors" My brother in Christ, look again at the Saiyajin and Freeza Force armor. It's LITERALLY "militarized jazzercise space armor."
This show has the drama and tension of watching Superman arm wrestle a five year old but pause for like an hour to take a nap before he actually wins. I thought the movies were bad!
im thinking maybe, "gill" in the merchandise is just an attempt at choosing what they assumed to be the most natural way to turn giru from japanese into english, rather than just turning the japanese syllables into direct english letters as-is. the fate series ran into a problem like this, where the character whos name is pronounced artoria (female king arthur) was written as "altria" in official japanese merch, and so english localizations are using that spelling. many fans argue about it to this day
Yeaaaah Let's get this video to a lot of views in the first hour so that it gets love from youtube Algorithm bless this video which i liked even before watching it because it's that good Seriously, sometimes i end up pissed off because i can't like it again after watching it, fix that youtube Lots of words lots of engagement, yadda yadda Let's get Lance pumpued up
Lance, or Ransu, call gill a random thing all the time as long as it fits somehow. gill, gillu, gir, giru, bob. anything that suits your fancy. if GT can't make up its mind, why should you? "Turns out Jill was from planet T-26001 all along! How convenient! not for the heros' mind you. But the plot! I have a feeling this Jillu will have a bigger role in the future"
In mexico brenda nava left the name as "Giru" as it sounds in japanese, she was in charge of adapting Db and DBZ into spanish as well, very experienced in japanese, if she could not make sense of it, don't feel bad if you don't do it either. PS. Pan's bee suit is made out of flower parts.
14:20 In a way, it is true and it isn't. There was an episode of Super where the entire main cast was scrambling to make wishes on Shenron for various reasons, and Gohan and Videl wanted to cure some illness that Pan had come down with. She was there with them, but she was a baby, so she obviously wouldn't remember it. It's not her first time being exposed to them, but it's the first time she'd be aware of being exposed to them.
GT taking this bit from the OG Dragon Ball, the Oolong encounter, and just copying it almost beat for beat without understanding what made the original work kinda defines one of GT's core problems.
The thing that stood out to me the most about Redjic is that he was like… the only one in their spacefaring to 1) know the group was Saiyans and 2) know what Saiyans even were outside of Baby who actually cares. Sure, Saiyans haven’t been out conquering planets for a good 50 years or so, but you would think people would be weary of them. Or perhaps people who think they are Saiyans and get defensive but then ease up at Trunks’ purple hair.
It's definitely missed opportunity to go out into space and use approximately 0% of the lore established about the universe last time it went scifi, but it does make some ammount of sense. Not only have the Sayians not been conquering for a good 50 years or so, but when they were out conquering it was only for about 50 years or so. If I recall correctly. It was, like, Vegeta's grandfather or something that first made the deal to make them intergalactic. Now Frieza, he was around for a hell of a long time with a huge reach of influence and his sudden, completely unexpected removal should have had massive repercussions on the political landscape of the galaxy. What GT really should have been, if only in background elements, was a show about the ensuing chaos after removing a dictator.
@@Jotari I never thought about that, but that certainly would’ve been an interesting thing to explore. Oddly enough, Resurrection F sort of addresses it, but it’s just used as an excuse for Freeza’s minions to bring him back to life.
It's weird too, considering he is able to hold his own against a Super Saiyan, which means that he would at the very least be more powerful then Frieza himself the Emperor of the universe. And he relegated himself to being a mercenary of some dirt planet.
@@brandonlyon730 i mean, it is Super Saiyan Kid Goku. If we go by Power Levels, he is possibly weaker than first form Freeza but as has been stated the power scaling this series is “however strong they need to be”
These first few episodes definitely seem to have some issues. A rough start can hurt a series in the long run. That said, it is interesting to finally see how GT was (as my last attempt to watch it didn't last long at all).
The first episodes pretty much killed any changes the show had...which werent many, considering people were burnt out with Dragon Ball at that point (ratings kept lowering since the Great Saiyaman arc began).
I really recommend to watch GT around the episode where Baby goes to earth. you would probably enjoy it. GT is good, but the start like you said, is rough.
@@banjo9158 But once Baby goes to planet Plant it gets very boring again. I'd say from the moment they fight the Rudo cult to the moment Baby leaves Earth to go to Plant is GT's best. After that there are a few highlight episodes here and there, but the majority of it is pretty bland.
@@JackOfen I don't think it does, it's very intersting seen a villain in dragon ball actually suceeding with their plan, seeing all the characters being controlled like puppets is kinda sad and depressing. the fights are really cool, awesome soundtrack, goku transforming into super saiyan 4 was really cool, i also disagree with the rest of GT being bland, the shadow dragon arc is way better than people say, imo. but the person in this comment did not watch GT, so, i won't discuss this further to not spoil much the stuff that happens.
Technically “Giru” (ぎる) is a way to say “pilfer” or “swipe” in Japanese, and technically he does swipe the Dragon Radar from them. Might be a play on that.
7:34 GT makes some of the movies canon to its continuity. It's possible he's met Turles or another saiyan with Gokuu's hair. It's supposed to be pretty common, right?
No. In the original story there are only 4 Saiyans that survived the destruction of Planet Vegeta (Raditz, Nappa, Vegeta, Goku) Saiyans added after the fact is a retcon or movie only canon.
Rule#1: Never trust the Funimation Deb. Rule#2: Never trust the Funimation Dub. I know that's technically that's onw rule, but it's so important that I thought it was worth mentioning twice!
To think that Redjic being able to put up a fight with a Super Saiyan would imply he was on par with Frieza himself, so this guy choose to live on a dirt hole of a planet working for some greedy dork despite being able to hold his own against the Emperor of the Universe.
Goku at this point in Super Saiyan even as a kid absolutely decimates Freeza. They imply that he's at least on par with some form of Boo in his base form when he's fighting the robots later on as well.
Every form gets more powerful over time, although that would make Redjic even more stupidly strong, but you can always say he wasn't as strong during Frieza's years of activity.
This also takes place-according to the previous episode of Dragon Ball Dissection-upwards of three decades after Freeza’s death, so who knows if Redgic was even born when that was happening. Three decades is enough time for a kid to finish traditional schooling, ideally finish college, and be doing things like looking for a home and paying mortgage on that home.
17:23 the simple answer here is: cause she didn't wanna do it. Can you blame a little girl not wanting to marry a monster, even if it's a trick? Also Trunks crossdressing I thought was pretty funny considering the kinda character he is. Not as funny as OG Goku but it definitely works. And yeah it might be a reused plot and not as funny, but Zuunama is definitely a cooler guy than Oolong
My guess is that the three Imega episodes were made at the same time by three different teams, because they not only contradict themselves, they feel like filler episodes, and what GT had going for was that, since its not adapting a manga, there was no need for filler episodes...then again, episode 2 was also a filler episode, so maybe all these episodes were made at the same time? I recall reading Toei decided to "change course" after episode 6, so this level of miscomunication between teams doesnt make sense (yet). The giant episode is pretty good, and the reason why Giru doesnt do anything is because, just like the previous episode, it was more than likely made by a different team who had no idea when this episode was going to take place, that is why it feels so disconnected. About "Oolong in space"...I love the callback, and when Dragon Ball actually does comedy, but the whole situation is forced, it should've been Goku coming up with the plan (considering he was part of it once), Pan offering to be the "bait", and when she realises the dress is too big for her, they had to resort to Trunks...on the positive side, at least they have the three characters doing some teamwork before this show becomes, indeed, "Goku Time". Also, nobody cares about power levels, but if Redic can take down Trunks in one hit, and forces Goku to go super saiyan, does that mean he is around the same level as Boo, which is...ridiculous.
I think a good comparasion to Redic would be Pikkon, Pikkon was stronger than Cell, and it indicates that there could be people stronger than Perfect Cell in the universe. That would make him stronger than Trunks for sure. Goku could just be holding back agains't him. transforming into a super saiyan could more of an instinct thing for him to do in a fight at this point. still holding back though.
MistareFusion nails why the Black Star Dragonballs section of the story falls so flat. When even the UA-camr who prefers light hearted early Dragonball pinpoints the plots of the light hearted sections of GT as a pale imitation of what came before it, you know the story is truly flawed. The drag plot rehash example is a perfect one, as it misses the comedic value of the scene from the Hunt from the Dragonballs Arc. It follows the plot beats but without the substance and the narrative purpose. If you separate the Black Star Dragonballs section into its own arc, as many official sources do: it really does become one of the worst Arcs in all of Dragonball (at least before Super anyway)
Nah I'd still say Super 17 and Dragons are worse At least the pre-Baby episodes constantly try to change things up and introduce new things, which doesn't work all the time, or even most of the time, but it's still better than painfully dragging out a single boring fight over several episodes with little of substance going on.
@@olserknam Super 17 and the first half of the Shadow Dragons Arc was also pretty awful. I'd argue that the Black Star Dragonball Arc is the most disappointing, as there was so much potential there. Super 17 had no potential from the get go. The Shadow Dragons Arc could have been good if they just used all the different characters to fight the variety of dragons instead of just making it all about Goku Time.
My best guess for why he’s named Gill/Giru is that because he’s found on a planet obsessed with money, it’s a Final Fantasy reference, and he’s named after the currency ‘Gil’.
This title is such a missed opportunity. This episode should really be called: Drag on and Drag on and Drag on and Drag on Ball GT. -nobody gets that unless they know about an obscure gag from house of bachelors-
I definitely prefer the name Giru, and it sounds like Gear but with that sterotypical(?) "oo" type sound after an r in japan (I don't intend to come off as offensive with that, sorry for that if I did) so gear plus ruu would be gearru which could be written as giru to hide that pun a lil That's my take anyway, makes more sense to me than gill, and it sounds better
I hate how Trunks gets taken out by Regick in one hit and doesn't go super saiyan. He's still a fighter and I don't care if he's supposed to be the "nerd" of the story now. Gt should have had more teamwork fightsm
GT did that all the time and it was infuriating. They just refused to go SSJ so often for no reason. Heck, in a future episode, they turn SSJ to deal with something and then go back to normal while there's still a fight going on, it's ridiculous.
He doesn't, it's just that people who are connected to the people who are connected to the people who are connected to the people who are connected to him show up.
@@olserknam Heh, now I'm thinking of Totally Not Mark's complaint about the "super secret higher boss" rug-pulls this part of the arc keeps doing. I found your inner conflict about what to name Giru hilarious don't worry. And gee whiz yeah this story XD. Never realized how messy it was. If I remember correctly Toei was making the story up as they went along, like how Toriyama did tje DB manga AND ep3 is when they suddenly decided to change the premise of what GT was supposed to be. See, knowing precisely NOTHING about the translation, or Japanese language, or anything useful, just from watching the dub, I always thought his name was a pun on "Gear." I don't think that was the ACTUAL intention but it's always what I took away from it.
I always assumed Giru was a pun on the English word gear. But, I've also heard Gill be used so I'm not sure either... When I watch in Japanese I swear I hear Giru... I say either or to be honest I just don't care all that much. But, I personally prefer Giru.
I think the magic on ki techniques will be great, because Goku train with Uub and could be a nice way to expand this concept, what only happens in the Moro Arc. Could also explain Pan's bee costume. Imagine: Pan trains with Piccolo and learn the Clothe Beam! (Tks Abridged!). Someone, please make a what if out it!
I think his name in and out of universe is just based on the sound he makes like Goku comments on therefor not based on an English or other existing word his name should just be Giru
The official Japanese subtitles from the Dragon Boxes also say DB4649T2006RS, as does the Italian dub (the only one I could check out), confirming that it was written like this on Toei's international scripts too. I would've dismissed DD/22 as just a goof on the guidebook's end, but Curtis Hoffmann's summary being dated way earlier than that is so strange...
Given that the Saiyans all seem to be named after English words, to the point of Vegeta basically speaking full throated *Engrish* for all his attack names before and after he stopped being a villain, I’m going to assume that Earth is the only planet in the universe so heavily influenced by Eastern culture, which includes naming conventions, so I would think “Giru” is too much of an Easternized name for that culture. Besides, I’ve always been fond of the sub translation of “Gill”, since I watched DBGT subbed on Hulu.
Life is so weird. Or funny. I have finally been PRIORITIZING reading through the first half of Dragon Ball having been fully acclimated with the series. (Z, Super, GT, the movies) The DAY I’m watching this is the LITERAL day I read Oolong’s introduction. That is…so bizarre and funny to me.
I watched the giant episode last night and I like how it shows a little characterisation. Pan is shown to be adventurous and demonstrates some independence. Goku is shown to be carefree and trusts Pan’s strength and judgement, that she’ll be okay on her own. Trunks being the worrywort is shown and literally called out by Goku. I liked that episode too.
I guess the best thing you can do is leave it untranslated as "Giru". Also, perhaps "Gill" is a play on the Final Fantasy currency of the same name. Maybe he liked Square Soft's Final Fantasy enough for a major character to be named that. This was also around the time he drew characters for Square Soft's Chrono Trigger (1995).
Hm, your Redjic name is actually pretty similar to his name in the dub, Ledgic which I think works just fine because it sounds somewhat similar to ledger, keeping with the money theme.
All I can say is people have different opinions about dragon ball gt some like it some hate it and some really hate it I love it 🥰 and the dub version as well as the sub title version too I don’t judge people for hating it that’s not my responsibility

Although in general I’m a fan of most of GT’s designs, both from Toriyama and from Nakatsuru.
GT's designs go fucking crazy.
@@justinarzola4584 The tan was Toriyama's decision when he designed GT's Goku, he got it after all those years training on Oob's island.
They're such a perfect 90s ripped-denim-and-leather vibe.
I like the fight with Redjic. Goku simply turning Super Saiyan to defeat an enemy is cheap in a vacuum, but it works very well for the first proper fight of the new series, requiring some effort on his side but not having to go all out yet. If anything this gives the form more weight as a trump card.
It's hilarious that they catfished a literal catfish though.
Counterpoint: Tomboys suffering in dresses is as funny as crossdressing.
Also love the whole Pan just murdered and ripped a bunch of bees apart to make her outfit. It did turn out cute though!
Its really fortunate that these seem to be the only dragonballs that don't go inert for a year after use
I mean, given that the Saiyans pillaged the universe for decades alongside Freeza, I’m willing to throw GT a bone on Redgic knowing what they are.
11:54 I can't believe DD4640T22006RS committed suicide :(
I split the difference by using “Gear.” Because he’s a robot!
"Alien aerobics instructors"
My brother in Christ, look again at the Saiyajin and Freeza Force armor. It's LITERALLY "militarized jazzercise space armor."
Just keep calling him "medling robot" and you'll be fine. Also, how can you NOT find Trunk's dress cute. Explain yourself.
This show has the drama and tension of watching Superman arm wrestle a five year old but pause for like an hour to take a nap before he actually wins. I thought the movies were bad!
im thinking maybe, "gill" in the merchandise is just an attempt at choosing what they assumed to be the most natural way to turn giru from japanese into english, rather than just turning the japanese syllables into direct english letters as-is. the fate series ran into a problem like this, where the character whos name is pronounced artoria (female king arthur) was written as "altria" in official japanese merch, and so english localizations are using that spelling. many fans argue about it to this day
I really didn't know they went to 2 different houses on this planet, I guess my memory blended the trips together.
I love these so much! I quite enjoy you trying to understand everything GT made, and going mad at the same time!
I just love GT it is like starwars son much
Yeaaaah
Let's get this video to a lot of views in the first hour so that it gets love from youtube
Algorithm bless this video which i liked even before watching it because it's that good
Seriously, sometimes i end up pissed off because i can't like it again after watching it, fix that youtube
Lots of words lots of engagement, yadda yadda
Let's get Lance pumpued up
Lance, or Ransu, call gill a random thing all the time as long as it fits somehow.
gill, gillu, gir, giru, bob.
anything that suits your fancy.
if GT can't make up its mind, why should you?
"Turns out Jill was from planet T-26001 all along! How convenient! not for the heros' mind you. But the plot! I have a feeling this Jillu will have a bigger role in the future"
Stick with Giru. We call him that in the Latin American dub.
And they said Toriyama was messy “fly by the seat of their pants” writer…. 🙄
If we go by Power Levels, he is possibly weaker than first form Freeza but as has been stated the power scaling this series is “however strong they need to be”
@@SorceressHalcy And the power scaling is going to get even more bizarre when we get to Rildo who is apparently stronger than Majin buu himself.
Unfortunately going to have to wait until after work to finish this. Happy to see you're covering princess trunks though, lol
Jesus, the repetition is so transparent! I guess as a kid, my brain changed it, because my memory thought they just went to another planet 🙃
These first few episodes definitely seem to have some issues. A rough start can hurt a series in the long run. That said, it is interesting to finally see how GT was (as my last attempt to watch it didn't last long at all).
Funi knows that. Which is why the start got "Lost" when the US version was done lol
Cross-dressing seems to have huge history and cultural presence in Japan, so I'd say it's a bit more than just "cross-dressing is funny".
Eh, this ain't kabuki
I think Giru comes from gear not unlike Dr. Gero's name. I do wish that they kept the Queen Bee Pan concept.
7:34 GT makes some of the movies canon to its continuity. It's possible he's met Turles or another saiyan with Gokuu's hair. It's supposed to be pretty common, right?
No. In the original story there are only 4 Saiyans that survived the destruction of Planet Vegeta (Raditz, Nappa, Vegeta, Goku)
Saiyans added after the fact is a retcon or movie only canon.
I usually say Giru but spell it Gill. I like the Gi-ru sounds. I like Giru.
Rule#1: Never trust the Funimation Deb.
Rule#2: Never trust the Funimation Dub.
I know that's technically that's onw rule, but it's so important that I thought it was worth mentioning twice!
I always called him Giru, I never heard Gill anywhere even in Toonami
Pretty sure he was always named giru since he constantly repeats his name in the dub as some verbal robot tic, it got annoying quick.
We got 3 bad guys and 3 heroes, how should we doll this out, 3×1v1?
Nah, knock out the sidekicks and Goku gets em all.
I honestly love the idea of turning the Dragon Rader itself into an actual character. Just wish they gave him a punnier name,
Radar.
@@spritvio639 Yeah, they should have named him Radar!
Just wait till you see Goku get owned by worms
Nah I'd still say Super 17 and Dragons are worse
At least the pre-Baby episodes constantly try to change things up and introduce new things, which doesn't work all the time, or even most of the time, but it's still better than painfully dragging out a single boring fight over several episodes with little of substance going on.
This episode should really be called:
Drag on and Drag on and Drag on and Drag on Ball GT.
-nobody gets that unless they know about an obscure gag from house of bachelors-
I always figured Giru was a play on the English word gear. You know, because he's a robot. Gear-u
I definitely prefer the name Giru, and it sounds like Gear but with that sterotypical(?) "oo" type sound after an r in japan (I don't intend to come off as offensive with that, sorry for that if I did) so gear plus ruu would be gearru which could be written as giru to hide that pun a lil
That's my take anyway, makes more sense to me than gill, and it sounds better
In my country, he’s called Gil. They also called him DD4649T22006RS there.
i kinda think Redgic looks super cool!!! though, why he's weaning the singlet OVER the cape is something i don't know.
Witness the power of The Holy Numbers as they bless you with this fine video.
This will be amazing
I hate how Trunks gets taken out by Regick in one hit and doesn't go super saiyan. He's still a fighter and I don't care if he's supposed to be the "nerd" of the story now. Gt should have had more teamwork fightsm
Yeah and he would’ve creamed that catfish guy in like 2 seconds.
GT did that all the time and it was infuriating. They just refused to go SSJ so often for no reason. Heck, in a future episode, they turn SSJ to deal with something and then go back to normal while there's still a fight going on, it's ridiculous.
I like "Giru" for the robot's name, since that's what it sounds like when anyone says it's name.
Christ I completely forgot how early Baby shows up. Goes to show how much of GT stayed with me.
Not baby but his minions!
One thing I could respect about General Rilld was being introduced as a _subordinate_ of Dr. Myuu... though he did just look like Bonpara done up in Dr. Myuu's color scheme anyway.
I think it would have been interesting if Redjic explained more about his connection to Saiya-jins
That's why all this feels so weirdly paced and executed, they were stumbling to find a new footing for the show.
People don't understand that Goku's Kamahameha is really a sonic screwdriver. It can do anything.
Finally got the Patreon to see this early. Was not dissapointed. Quality as usual.
Hey Fusion, I know a lot of originalist fans of Dragon Ball (including your boy, Geekdom101) think Funimation is worse Nick Fuentes, Andrew Tate, and Satan all rolled into one, but you gotta admit that THIS Funimation-only line from Goku is badass as hell: ua-cam.com/video/7uMGnMmPOWE/v-deo.html
See, knowing precisely NOTHING about the translation, or Japanese language, or anything useful, just from watching the dub, I always thought his name was a pun on "Gear." I don't think that was the ACTUAL intention but it's always what I took away from it.
Giru as in Gear, as in a rudimentary part of machines, or as in what some people would refer navigation tools (which he is) as
From what I understand, gear is gi-ya, not gi-ru.
@@MistareFusion that throws a monkey wrench into my understanding
I see what you did there.
I always assumed Giru was a pun on the English word gear. But, I've also heard Gill be used so I'm not sure either... When I watch in Japanese I swear I hear Giru... I say either or to be honest I just don't care all that much. But, I personally prefer Giru.
If it’s „gear“, the pun would have been Gia.
@@PrimeroJinJusuke dunno. The name really does not make sense.
Goku said said he's called Giru because of the sounds he makes, and he doesn't seem to have an english based pun for his name, so his name is Giru
Ledgic doesn’t need a makeover, and how dare- I kid though. Ledgic was fine. I just wish he’d returned later. He had potential. Fun vid as always.
I think his name in and out of universe is just based on the sound he makes like Goku comments on therefor not based on an English or other existing word his name should just be Giru
Maybe Picard should have been in charge of this whole thing
I remember, in Infinite World, Pan calls the robot "Giru" during her Ultimate Move. I guess FUNimation changed their mind later down the road?
He was always called giru in the GT dub.
He was always called Giru in the Funimation dub
(Z, Super, GT, the movies)
The DAY I’m watching this is the LITERAL day I read Oolong’s introduction.
I thought thus "greed planet" arc like 2 episodes at most
Almost certainly they meant for Giru's english name to be Gear.
I’ve been thinking about Giru vs Gill for like 25 years.
It’s Giru.
Love you buddy.
Given you've already made a few star trek references in this review, I'm surprised you didn't say those villagers looked like Spock.
Hm, your Redjic name is actually pretty similar to his name in the dub, Ledgic which I think works just fine because it sounds somewhat similar to ledger, keeping with the money theme.
I'm dreaming of a day where we can easily compare every dub's stupid editions and changes. Not to really do something with it, I'm just curious.
14:29 she already saw shenron, but she was still a baby so.
Giru sounds more like a logical name, that's the sound he makes. I don't get the why they have his name spelled "Gill"
All I can say is people have different opinions about dragon ball gt some like it some hate it and some really hate it I love it 🥰 and the dub version as well as the sub title version too I don’t judge people for hating it that’s not my responsibility
We would have gotten away with it if not for that meddling robot. Ok Pan ripping the carcass of dead bees for her costume is mildly disturbing. The other bees should have got revenge not hail her as queen.
I haven't seen DBGT since I was a kid, so I'm enjoying this very much.
