Wow beautiful garden we bought land south Kona 2 years ago we planted some avocados and bananas I’ll love to plant some of the trees you showed in this video… also do they have a gardener that they can recommend ? Thank you love all your videos
I am going to be there from Oregon next week. Yesterday I watched your video of this listing and was curious to see more of the garden. I thought about asking you if I could tour it, and I had a dream last night that I did ask you and you asked the owner and she said no. :-) This video will suffice. Thanks
Aloha. Please remember not to refer to Hawaiian people in the past tense when describing how ʻulu or any other things are used by Hawaiian people today. I know you're coming from a place of good intentions, but these plants are still used by Hawaiian people today. Mahalo
Thank you...I meant they came over with the canoes with the ancient Hawaiians, so past tense. But yes, will watch that and Ulu is starting to become a major crop now, too!
That is a common guava, not a strawberry guava. Strawberry guavas are dark red and smaller than a grape. If you want to see strawberry guavas, go to Kalopa State Park in the fall; it's full of the them. They are so invasive that the Hawaii Dept. of Agriculture has introduced a pest that is specific for them and does not affect garden variety guavas.
Fantastic video! Thank you!
Great video! Thank you. Can't wait to get there. Hopefully someday own a small piece. See you soon. 😊
Oh how I love Lilikoi and ulu.
What a wonderful backyard/garden. Thank you for showing us. Love the variety of fruits/nuts/beans that are grown in Hawaii. Would love to live there!

@0:45 it’s actually pronounced “Ah Bee U” not Abu
FYI: Though not grown commercially, cacao is also grown by some backyard enthusiasts in South Florida and the Florida Keys.

They DO have a landscaping service. If I can find it out, I will post soon.
Are there any orchards in Big Island?
There are but not in size as those on the continent
The mainstream banana is called the Cavendish. It replaced the Gros Michel variety.
Weeds dont hurt fruit trees btw...you can let it all grow. No need to break your back getting rid of them.
