The FACT he was driving around with Donovan's license proved he planned on using it for other illegal activity as well. PERHAPS if Lyle had just followed the law and stayed put in NJ instead of CHOOSING to be back in CA at his parents house NONE of this would have happened. You cannot buy a shotgun in CA with an expired license. Laws like that actually could have protected the parents from being killed by their sons.
