    I am African American, and grew up in South Central LA and was living there when the trial started, and I thought he was guilty from day one. Innocent people don't run, guilty ones do, and OJ was set to try and disappear. Secondly, he had a fresh cut that he explained different was to different people, it was never the same reason twice. His blood was at the scene, and before the "he was set up" group arrives, no one knew OJ was even connected to this case until much later. So they would have had to know where he would be, have his blood ready to go, and know a double homicide would take place. As far as anyone knew, OJ could have at some ones house with plenty of witnesses or halfway around the world. You can't set someone up with that amount of unknowns.
    Was there a racist cop involved, YES, and I have ZERO love for the PD, but for this to be a set up, many would have to be involved and why would anyone risk their jobs for OJ? He wasn't a champion for the black community or doing good things for young black people. He moved as far away as possible and dated whites exclusively at this point, and I wouldn't even consider him "Black" if not for the color of his skin. I've know white folks who are blacker than OJ has ever been, or ever will be.
    Lastly, the crime scene shoe prints had been from rare and expensive Italian made shoes, that OJ denied ever having or owning(why lie about that?). Well guess what, he owned them and there's documented proof of him wearing them. This crime scene was also horrific, and not a typical quick kill situation. It reads like a crime of passion, as the anger shown was off the charts, and guess who had a documented history of abuse? You guessed it, OJ! So for anyone thinking his son did it, or some drug dealers, or whatever else conspiracy your believing, STOP! OJ did it, if there was a 3rd of this much evidence towards anyone else, they would be locked up for life, but OJ just like most rich people get a different system in their favors.

    • @marklar7551
      @marklar7551 Рік тому +38

      Innocent people do run, but not rich ones. I agree with you on all this however. I just graduated highschool when this went down and my mom especially was all over this case watching it unfold daily. Cops are especially racists without doubt, and when your job is to deal with crime on the day to day, everyone is a criminal in your head. This is still an open case, and I think he had help committing the crime.

    • @Limboweechie
      @Limboweechie Рік тому

      I am African-American is well and I also believe that OJ Simpson was guilty. But innocent people do run especially if you are black and innocent. I remember this case very well as we watch the trial every day at work. Well I do believe he was 100% guilty I am not totally upset that he got acquitted simply because of the history of race and the American criminal justice system. Too many times African Americans are falsely accused or over prosecuted and overly sentenced compared to our white counterparts. Too many times white people have gotten away with murdering innocent blacks and have never been brought to Justice. So you have to keep all of that in mind with this particular case. Again there is much historical context in play.

      Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuu that’s what I always say all the time, OJ was so lucky that all the planets 🪐 aligned for his verdict to be on his favor. Rodney kings was to fresh out of the oven for Americans specially black America, that 92 riot was to much for California to handle another riot if OJ got a guilty verdict, can you imagine the chaos that guilty would it have started.

    • @smellycunt1629

      @@erickfuentes7276 If one takes the view that the OP has taken, I think one can argue that it was the female Korean shopkeeper in LA who shot dead the 15-year-old black girl that she (Korean woman) thought was shoplifting from her store in 1991, who _also_ saved O J. This is because the 1992 LA riots were actually triggered by _two_ events, the Rodney King verdict AND the Korean woman getting only a suspended sentence for killing the black girl.

      Somebody did: a TV series, anyway. American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson. Really well done. Even better is the documentary series OJ: Made in America, which outlines in great detail the racial climate that formed these jurors, as well as the life of O.J. Simpson. who once said "I'm not black, I'm O.J." He lived and thrived in the white community, never gave back to the black community, to which he had no attachment, to the point that when the just was taken to his house the defence team had to remove all the photos of him with white friends and put in some of black people, as well as some African art including a painting from Johnny Cochran's personal collection.

Certainly Simpson could be a pretty cool and amazing guy who came from a true rags-to-riches background. We have always felt and seen that "racial divide" even when we were kids in the 7th grade. In the past, the KKK has lynched black people with no accountability, and white cops have murdered unarmed black folks with accountability. This is in addition to the number of young black people who have been murdered by other nationalities without accountability. For instance, Latasha Harlins was killed in Los Angeles by a Korean store owner who accused her of stealing and saw Rodney King get the beatdown in L.A with no accountability. Emmett Till was murdered at the age of 14 by two racist white men after they accused him of whistling at a white woman and were not held accountable for the killing. During playtime in a park, a racist white cop shot Tamir Rice without accountability, Trayvon Martin was murdered by another racist with accountability, and Breonna Taylor was murdered by racist white cops who kicked her door while she lay in bed. It's unbelievable how often we as black people have been "disgusted and in disbelief" because partial all-white juries repeatedly refuse to prosecute these criminals. The O.J. Simpson situation was just a drop in the bucket for you all when in fact it has been many full buckets for us over many decades. Obviously, you all "were in jubilation" bcoz no one from the radical right, who criticized the decision in Mr. Simposon's case spoke out about any of these cases.
      But aside from all of this, we also saw " jubilation" from you all when Kyle Ritterhouse who murdered two human beings walked as a hero. Some Republican politicians even had the audacity to raise money for his legal defense fund. You didn't call out that did you !!!??? It's always a one-sided affair on y'all part when you call out what you perceive to be an injustice even though the two victims Ritterhouse murdered were white. But they were associated with a black cause is why they were treated with such disgust..

    This was right after the L.A. riots & I wasn’t surprised Judge Ito allowed the jury to be replaced to make a majority of black jurors. I knew if they said he was guilty there would be fear of another riot. This was made to be about race & no matter if they explained DNA, the jurors wouldn’t listen. Also having him put on gloves over latex gloves, of course would make it more difficult. Also the defense saying the blood was contaminated, rather than the blood was planted there proves the blood was O. J.’s. If you contaminate blood, then it would show it could be another person, but the odds of contaminated blood to somehow be O.J. Is a billion to one .the media also pushed this white vs black divide. If a white person felt he was guilty, it meant he was a racist. Now 28 yrs. Later most now believe he’s guilty, but not back then.

When an adult explained to me that this was a racially charged trial and also I saw how Black and White people were choosing the verdict based on the perpetrator and victims’ skin color, I started to side with OJ because as a kid and of course now, I disliked witnessing how some White people and White cops would talk to and treat so called Black people and so called immigrants. While I still know OJ to be guilty and needing to serve life in jail, I also think of Emmitt Till and the thousands of Black people among others who were brutally murdered simply because of the shade of their skin and their killers getting away with it… The American judicial system is truly broken.

Many blacks was guilty of crime they didn’t commit but had no money to afford a quality lawyer. Racism is hell.The dream team used it and won. Again the prosecution loss the case. Winning a civil trial does not "prove there is enough evidence to convict." Not at all, actually. It's a different burden of proof, and winning a civil trial is way easier. In a civil trial, you win if you show that there is a "preponderance of the evidence" supporting your case. That means a 51% chance you are right is enough to win a civil trial. A criminal trial is a much higher burden of proof -- it is the highest burden of proof in all of American law -- "beyond reasonable doubt." Hard to put an exact number on it, but if I had to it would be certainly above 90%. Even if the evidence is strong in a criminal case, they have to acquit if there is even any lingering reasonable possibility he didn't do it. Not true in a civil case at all. They are completely different systems with completely different rules and burdens, civil vs. criminal. It is not true that winning a civil case means you have enough to convict. You could very clearly not have enough evidence to convict and still win a civil case.

      I was in law school when the trial started. I’ve been a lawyer for 28 years now. The watched this every single class to learn. However, it wasn’t a “how to get away with murder” like you said. Ask any lawyer/student and that is not the lesson.
      The lesson is about research. The lesson is about how to command the court room. The lesson is when to be aggressive and when not to. The lesson is how to remain stoic in your body language. The lesson is to when to throw a statement out knowing you’re going to get an objection, or when to throw out a statement you KNOW you’re going to withdraw yourself.
      The lesson is if you go the prosecution route, how to handle your case when it was messed up before you even got assigned to it. The prosecution, to any unbiased jury, has no chance to win. Because you must be guilty BEYOND a reasonable doubt. This case the minute the cops stepped on the crime scene was doubt everywhere. Every single witness for the prosecution ADMITTED mistakes. Yes, every single one from the cops, to the medical examiners, to OJ’s former cop friend, to Kato. Every single cop that took the stand said at one point “that was a mistake” or “I would have done it differently” or “That’s not protocol”! Yes, every single cop said one of those phrases on the stand under oath. Clark and Darden worried about competing with the defense lawyers INSTEAD of deflecting the mishaps of the LAPD and the handling of evidence/protocol. It was a lesson in “How NOT to be a lawyer”, if you truly think about it!
      Even take your comment. You’re going off what you FEEL, not what you KNOW. You feel as though OJ did it. You THINK OJ did. That why jurors are the worse. You feel that way, but what do you KNOW? You KNOW evidence was mishandled because it was told by the witnesses under oath. You KNOW protocol wasn’t done correctly because the witnesses stated such under oath. You KNOW people lied because it was stated under oath. If you said OJ Dodd it, and I asked you why you think that, the first thing you’re going to say is the blood evidence. My response to you would crush every single thing such as:
      Blood carried in your pocket
      Blood brought from OK house to Nicole’s house and opened up sitting on the sidewalk for two hours by the ME.
      Cop finding blood at the house, left that scene, went to OJ’s house, saw his car, tried opening the door with no gloves on.
      I could go on and on how blood could have been transferred. Think of it like this. If you can ask your, “why did they do that?”, that means reasonable doubt. Reasonable doubt means not guilty!!!

    My dad said that O.J. simpson would walk free . I asked why ?
    Dad said , number one they should taken just one step down from the highest murder charge . That would have carried a lesser proof of guilt level . Number 2 . The lawyers do not seem to realize , they must find ways to teach the importance of the new technical importance of DNA EVIDENCE .
    And number 3 . Find ways to unobtrusively, overcome the hero worship of a great football player .

    After watching countless documentary films on this subject and living thru it personally, there's NO WAY OJ was going to be found guilty. There was at least 1 juror in the group of 12 that would have never found him guilty. Even with the mountain of evidence against him.
    But i do agree that the prosecution didn't do a good job overall... And that made it easier for the jury to make the wrong decision.
