From the east coast of the USA here, and this definitely feels traditionally American to me as well. I really love the melding of craft and art into what really is a work boot, meant to be used. The individualism of the design also speaks to the individual spirit. I would to love someday own a pair. What a great series this was!!!!
@@douglasgreen437 I am Australian and I wear custom cowboy boots ( not made by Miller but by a local boot maker all in roo leather ) I never liked the chelsea boots here ( RM Williams) Seeing you wear the tops inside your jeans/pants most people dont notice and those who do have only had positive things to say about them .
Well call me surprised! Alright Kirby! You actually "manned up" and dressed like a proper Texan for this occasion! Wearing actual wranglers! I'm actually impressed! I tip my hat to you, sir!
I'm sad Lee Miller is retiring soon but I celebrate the time we had Blessed with his craftsmanship. Congratulations Kirby Allison 👏 you are lucky to have partnered on boots with a LEGEND.
It’s so funny that the first video of yours that I watched was when Lee measured you for these boots. What a long journey it’s been. Seriously, this 6-part series could be an amazing documentary. Well done.
Congratulations Kirby. I watched the first video over 5 years ago when Lee was measuring your feet and have kept up with the progress through your videos. The last series is a wonderful culmination of that journey. Lee is truly a master and I can't wait for my turn to start that journey. You have a beautiful pair of bespoke boots that you can add to your other bespoke footwear.
I love the cowboy stance Lee takes at 15:55 when he's observing Kirby put on the boots...His personal well-worn boots, jeans and stance, just so perfect! Fabulous journey to see art come to life in this way. As a new subscriber, I'm really enjoying your various journeys...
After watching your entertaining fittings and updates, I am pleased to see the final segment of this journey back into the meaning and tradition of the cowboy boot. The western boot seems to be the ultimate distillation of all American footwear. The cowboy boot takes two pieces of leather and shapes them to the purpose of a perfect fit for the individual foot from heel to toe in a uniquely American way. Of all the custom shoes you have commissioned abroad, Lee Miller's workmanship rises to the level of art. A final point, Lee Miller's personal style is exemplary, what the Italians call 'sprezzatura' - he achieves elegance without dandyism or foppishness. Lee Miller represents the pinnacle of American boot design, craftsmanship and natural elegance - a form of effortless superiority that is neither ostentatious nor elitist. Bravo!
I've never been interested in owning cowboy boots, but I'm a huge fan of anything thats custom handcrafted artisan. The first episode popped up in my timeline and I watched them all. Such beautiful work and attention to every tiny detail. Truly amazing Americana.
We need to see you wear these Kirby. Boots go so well with suits and these beautiful boots will go with just about anything. I've started transitioning to boots with my dress clothes more now I hit twenties.
This was wonderful to watch from beginning to end,it was a real pleasure to watch a master at his craft. In this age of mundane quality and acceptance it’s good to know there is high quality pride in workmanship folks still around. For those of you out there that have been told “ you’re too particular, too fussy, too meticulous to work here,”don’t throw in the towel and conform, stay true to what you believe is right and makes you happy, become a Lee Miller, the world needs you.
in all honesty, that tweed PoW jacket is a gorgeous, well-cut, proportional jacket, probably one of your very very best if not the best jacket you own!! Well done pairing your new cowboy boots with the rest of the outfit!
@@vianouche1 of course they are, the fit is terrible but the overall balance of the materials and textures is pretty dang good! I'd give it a pass, well
Finally. Covid slowed things down for everyone. These bespoke boots were hand built and were worth the wait. Wear them with pride, Kirby. Lee was ever a proud artisan.
Belt buckle with your royal blue and gold cannon signature would be amazing Kirby. I believe Nathaniel in the future would appreciate it like your grandfather did with you.
Beautiful!!! Thank you so much for sharing this knowledge. I grew up on a cattle ranch in Texas. I have a much greater appreciation for my boots after watching this!
It's been an adventure. From the first video to the final delivery, I realy felt we followed Kirby through this boot purchase. And seeing Kirby in his denim/western outfit somehow felt emotional. Probably because the videos are so well done. Enjoy the boots, Kirby.
Looking good Kirby. Comfort is Everything because it increases the Value to u of what u r Wearing. Luv especially the Design Inlays. Thank u for sharing with us, Enjoy wearing them. Shoemaker Brilliance!
Nice buckle. I actually have a Hughe's Tools buckle that my dad got back in the day. Oh yeah, Howard Hughes.. You could hear that "thunk" sound as his feet dropped in. That's a nice fit.
Absolutely GORGEOUS pair of boots and I enjoyed this series almost as much as your cigar sit-downs with the Sahakians! Thank you for sharing this experience with all of us!
Wow! Those are beautiful. I have been wearing boots my whole life and always wondered what one would feel like especially made for my foot. Sure is something to be proud of.
Just watched the whole series and WOW absolutely amazing the time and love he puts into his work!!! Hopefully will have a pair for myself in the future!
It's funny to me how you say always, "I couldn't be more excited". I get it. It's a cliche, a personal way of speaking...fully respected. But it's comical too. Like, how many things can you not be more excited about? You got to pick a winner, Kirbs! I say go with the boots and call it quits.
Maybe you could mix it up your next Scottish shoot. Tweeds and cowboy boots.......Set a new trend😀. As a Brit, I think it's wonderful we have such a rich heritage in fine clothing, gunsmithing, and arguably the classiest cars.
What a great 6 part documentary, I have been totaly hooked and loved watching each one. Mr Miller is a true craftsman and artist in boot making. I'd love to own a pair myself one day. Congratulations Kirby.
Incredible. Enjoy Kirby! Would love to see updates on the fit as you wear them over time! Obviously it needs some working in, so I’m curious how the fit improves. My only concern was, 5 years is a long time, don’t feet shapes change with weight change? I guess you gotta be cognizant about that…..A masterpiece series, thanks for sharing.

Brilliant Kirby... You should hunt down Savannah Yarborough from AtelierSavas for handmade leather jackets from Nashville. As an Australian, I have two of her jackets now... Not only is she totally adorable but what she can do with leather jackets is stunning. Yeah... Now I want Lee Miller boots..!
Beautiful cowboy boots! They definitely look better with that outfit you were wearing then those dress shoes! Those boots will look amazing with all your suits!
Those boots are amazing, the craftsmanship is superb. However, I don't have the time, 5 years to receive the final product, a lot can happen in that time. Six months, yes, five years, no. I think the episode of the shoe manufacturer in Mallorca, Carmina is the way to go.
Outstanding work, the only thing is the waiting time - it's around 2 to 3 years - I wish there were more workers with his training and supervision to service more customers, there's more custom boots makers but unfortunately they all have long waiting time .
