In Day 2 of our series documenting the construction of my bespoke cowboy boots from legendary bootmaker Lee Miller, we see Lee complete the shaping of the toe box and move onto bottom making. This is where Lee pulls the smooth ostrich upper over the last, nails it to the insole, and than hand sews everything together. This is the same process by which this has been done for over 100 years and just one of many examples of how Lee practices his craft at the highest level.
This series follows along the making of a pair of western cowboy boots totally by hand by one of America’s most famous boot makers, Lee Miller. The entire series is comprised of six separate days of filming, each which will be released individually. This is in addition to separate videos documenting the bespoke measurement process, last design, and boot leg design. Links to these videos can all be found below.
