Nice job. We sew the same way…. Gray thread and a walking foot. A suggestion, put SF 101 on the fabric side. Your fabric won’t stretch and when sewing the slit in the back together, your fabric won’t shred. Even if it’s just a small piece of the SF 101 right where you cut the slit. Happy stitching.

Thanks so much for all your tips. I have 11 Prairie Schooler Santas I’m about to sew up for kids and grands; and some I stitched and left from as far back as the 80´s. Last winter I started up x-stitching again I will start stitch each side separately and will probably do all my big living-room pillows that way also for crisper corners. It was very helpful to see someone doing the littles before I jump in.

You can buy a little tool if you prefer, but I like things in an organic style. Finger pleating is just fine! Thank you Cathy for a comprehensive video!

Your tutorials are always so wonderful and chockfull of great tips. I especially love the walking foot tip -- I'm a newbie quilter and will experiment to see how it works for me to use my walking foot for the seam sewing. I'm also going to try stuffing from the back rather than the bottom. Thanks, Cathy!!
