@@UmmahanTaylor you are the exception, not the overall consensus. How about that before throwing passive aggressive attack? As a 78-year-old, I am attracted to the technology of the KIA to help avoid problems on the road and in the parking lot. The adaptive cruise control that includes keeping the KIA in its lane and keeping it a specific distance from the car in front will, I believe, make the driving experience much less stressful and much safer. The 360-degree view of everything around when parking and when backing out of a parking space is also very attractive to an old man. I suggest you mention these benefits for people my age and beyond.
We USED TO be CRV fans, but the last one we bought, a 2015 EX, went through batteries like crazy - about one every year. No explanation as to why (like no shorts or obvious electrical problems). It also started using oil, even though it only had 82,000 miles on it. Starter went out on it, and after having it replaced, it started acting up again. So, this time, we are trying the Kia, and a hybrid at that, which we never thought we would do. Love it so far.
Great review Andrea and Zack! I have a 2011 CRV EXL original owner with 300k KM. Great suv with no issues at all. Would love to get the new CRV but way too pricey! They lost a loyal Honda owner. Kia here I come.
Me too! I have owned 4 to 5 Honda civics and still own one now but I will switch to Kia for my Mazda CX5 later when interest rate so drop to save on fuel economy!
The lack of features on the new 2023 CRV reminds me of the old Lily Tomlin routine: “We’re the phone company. We don’t care. We don’t have to.” It’s as if Honda believes their customer base is so loyal that they don’t have to compete with basic features that are now standard on many other cars.
Change your views. Honda care about reliability more than the skin deep fancy, at least the one made in Japan stays true to its vision, can't say much about North American Honda though!
Hi Tom, has been trying to see if it will go through my garage door. Can't find one anywhere so I can measure it. Any chance you can tell me how wide is the car from mirror to mirror? Thanks!
Thank you for being the first reviewers I’ve seen to date to reference the wireless dongle solution to the wireless CarPlay/AA issue. I agree it should come from the factory but it’s absolutely not the make or break issue so many people seem to think it is.
I have a CRV - old, ton of miles. I LOVE it and it has been a great car. We bought a Kia Telluride, SX Prestige for my wife 2 years ago. I LOVE that car too. Compared to other makes with similar features and amenities, it was a great value. And...compared to similar cars in the same price range, it blew them away with performance and features (not to mention looks). So...as somebody who loves both Honda and Kia AND who is in the market right now for a new car (replacement for my CRV), I can say that these two are the finalists on my list...and I looked at just about every other option in this category (Rav4, CX-50, CX-5, Rogue and so on). From all of the reviews I have watched, to everything I have seen and heard, these are the best two options in this class. And for me, I have to give the nod to Kia. They are both great cars, but the Kia just takes everything one step further. Much better looks/styling, better mileage, more power, quieter, more towing capability....all at a better price. Now granted, you can't find a Sportage Hybrid XS Prestige available and if you can, you have to pay at least $4K over MSRP. So the real price is probably about the same. I still lean toward the Kia. It's just a better looking car - inside and out.
So why don't you buy Kia Sportage hybrid then. My buddy bought it last year and have oil consumption issue! Don't let that deter you from buying it though, experience it yourself!
Honda engineers need to innovate more and are falling behind Kia. I noticed Honda's recent trend to do away with the spare tire and it's a deal breaker for a lot of folks. We want to drive and travel with a peace of mind. Honda needs to include spare tires in the Accord and CRV hybrids, especially if they are asking ridiculously high prices for the vehicles.
I always go to the used tire place and get a full size spare and rim. Just remember to get the flat repaired or you will have to have it towed due to no spare
What car doesn’t come with a spare? That’s absurd. Do you know how many times I’ve blown a tire? Sometimes it even happened on the freeway. Other times I had slow leaks and just swapped it out until I could get to a tire place. No spare tire just means one more additional cost you’ll have. Plus there’s no hidden compartment to store it.
I am on my fourth Honda CRV and always thought I would buy a CRV. However, I am very disappointed in the lack of features on this year’s model and I’m seriously considering the Kia.
Good review, folks. I used to drive Honda before and was quite happy with them. Now, I'm driving a Hyundai Tucson Plug-in (before I had an ix35) for about 1,5 years now and I'm outrageously happy with it. I'll choose that car over any Honda or Kia any day of the week! ;-)
The Sportage in UK looks extremely stylish and commanding on the roads no matter the drive train in my view of course Andrea. Once again I'm still leaning towards the Kia.
Love Love Love your reviews guys!!! Always so good! Out of the 14 new cars that I've owned, 12 of them have been Honda's. With that said...I'm sick of Honda's!!! lol I'm seriously considering buying this Sportage! It's sleek and I love all the luxury appointments this car has. Keep those amazing reviews coming!
Thank you all for your review. I’m back and forth between the Kia Sportage Hybrid, Hyundai Tucson hybrid, Nissan Rogue, Subaru Forester Sport and Subaru Crosstrek Limited. After watching several reviews including many of yours, the Kia Sportage is leading the pack. The Honda CRV is not even in the conversation anymore.
Well done guys. Thanks for this! What a great time to be alive and a car enthusiast. There are amazing choices to meet all kinds of needs. Keep the magic happening. 🙂
I’m glad to see you guys fault Honda on the pricing. I would have bought the CR-V if it was more competitively priced. I’ll gladly save 3 grand and buy the Kia Hybrid.
Honda needs to be more competitive and offer a base hybrid model in Canada, similar to what the US has. it's just not an affordable option for many, almost $50,000 CAD. Wow!
You have to look at how long you're keeping the car. The $3k savings actually may not translate into any savings when it's all said and done. For example, if you switch cars every 4 or so years: Kia $40k, CRV $43k, if both depreciate at 40% means Kia cost you $16k in depreciation, Honda cost you $17k, all else being equal. Now in the real world, Honda may depreciate less so it actually cost you less overall. Personally the $3k wouldn't stop me from buying the car I liked better, since it's a small overall percentage of total price and you have to live with this car for years.
@@gs98999 oh I definitely agree with those points. Secretly though, I love the sportage more and I’ve been able to test drive both to formulate that decision. But if the CR-V was the same price I could’ve considered it more (I drive a civic so I have a little more bias towards Honda)
We looked at and drove both the Kia Sportage Hybrid SX Prestige and the Honda Sport Touring Hybrid. We ended up buying the Kia. We found the Kia to be more refined and a better value. The Honda became noisy when stepping on the gas where the Kia seemed more seamless between gas and electric. We could not care at all about the Android car play. The ride on the Kia is very comfortable. We will be taking a long trip, Las Vegas to San Diego, in less than a week. We have had the car for less than a month so we really can't comment about the gas mileage. The main reason for choosing the hybrid over the non hybrid was the fact that the hybrid is so much better than the non hybrid; the improved gas mileage is just an added bonus. There are two minor annoyances with the Kia: the memory seats do not control the side mirrors and the fact the home link mirror do not come with the SX Prestige. A home link mirror can be easily added.
Kia all day! Cant imagine Honda had the audacity to launch that new CRV at a price point that is just shouts entitlement! Absolute nonsense interior at that pricepoint. Kia simply deserves all the love and kudos for the value it provides.
Have you ever owned a honda? If you have, you stay with Honda! I still have a 2005 Honda Accord, with 325 k miles and still running! It's not all about looks, it's about reliability, and reliability is Honda middle name
Honda depreciation covers the higher initial cost. You will only lose 18% on the honda at 5 years and 44% at 10 years. Kia is 28% for 5 years and 52% at 10 years. So buying either one brand new, just from cost alone you will be better off buying the crv but used the kia has huge dips in depreciation at 2, 5 and 6 years old where it will be more avantageous to buy the kia if it is thoroughly inspected pre purchase
Excellent comparison review as usual. Thank you both. I am a previous Honda owner (Pilot) and, while I appreciate Honda, have always felt they were behind in technology with small screens and older safety technologies, and a bit rougher ride quality. I completely agree with your indication of higher reliability and resale value. On the other hand, Kia seems to nail the technology, has a bit softer ride, better pricing, much better warranty, and an edgy and interesting look. But, again as you mentioned, the reliability is improving but not up to Honda, and resale has a way to go. Honestly, because of the 5 year warranty, I think I would save some money and go with the Kia.
Honestly, I am not interested of all safety feature in the first world to offer. Give me those Toyota they make in Afghanistan that they use for insurrection and guerilla warfare, that is what I want! Screw that rear view camera, LKAS, all of those non essential that just make you feel you are safe but it will only make you more and more reliant to other things but your own skill to drive!
Really great review. I like them both. I have a 2015 Honda Accord hybrid touring and love it. But I am so intrigued by the new sportage. If I could buy 2 cars I would try the sportage and get my wife the Crv
Hi Gazi, has been trying to see if it will go through my garage door. Can't find one anywhere so I can measure it. Any chance you can tell me how wide is the car from mirror to mirror? Thanks!
My lease on the 2020 Lincoln Corsair is up in 5 months, so I'm starting to check out what to get next. The Kia Sportage pretty much seems to be the current stand-out in small SUVs. I drove Hondas for about 40 years, but Honda is falling behind in design, tech, and pricing is way too high for what one gets. Of course, in August of 2022, when I have to turn in my Corsair, inventory is going to be the most important factor. Thanks, Edmunds, for an informative comparison.
Now Andrea and Zack, you know I'm going with the Sportage! It's just better all around. I'm glad you called Honda out for price gouging and offering more money for less features on the new CR-V. They had ONE job, and dropped the ball tremendously. No wonder their sales are tanking!
@@jraheemjefcoat429 with such low days supply in Canada the obvious reason for lower sales is supply. Sales tanking has absolutely 0 to do with what you’ve suggested. In a year from now, might hold some water but not currently. No correlation
I'm an old Honda person (I even have a Honda mower), but Kia is what we bought. It came down to price and interiors. The Kia interior is fabulous! And a 7000$ price difference! Viva la difference!
I will be looking for a vehicle like this in a few years. I rented a Kia Ceed Sportwagen when I was in Europe and loved it! Really wish they would bring that model here. It definitely got my attention for Kia.
I love you guys, and being south of you in Oregon, I'm very happy you include U.S. data like mpg etc... that being said, I'm on the hunt for this price point & style of SUV. So far, the KIA is very competitive with the RAV4, I need to see how they fare in winter driving though.
I'm getting my Hybrid Sportage SX Prestige this week. I've been watching a lot of contributors, especially you two. You've made it a lot easier to hit all the various specs, and values. Also, Ride Quality. If I drive across the country, I want the creature comforts, and Kia seems to have found their way out of their black hole.
It's Crazy to see some Dealers in the US pricing the Kia way Above MSRP and still selling the cars😯 I am glad that in Ontario(Canada) it's illegal to sell above MSRP. I am team Kia for the waaay better interior!!!
There is no law in Canada against selling above msrp. The law is that you have to advertise the product price clearly, so as long as full price is advertised it’s legal to charge whatever they want. I find Canadian dealers more shady in this regard as they try and hide markups with bogus fees, whereas in USA they simply call it what it is, markup.
It is kind of illegal in Canada but dealers are adding all sorts of snake oil and other crap to cars and more or less say customer has to pay. Has to be argued away. Is will change once supply improves and that is happening.
Ugh, you mentioned those front exhaust things on the Honda, which is quite odd. It's not a deal breaker as I would buy the car for utility. The dealbreaker for me is the Sportage has the compact spare tire, which I really want.
I've had 11 Hondas, and for the first time, selling my Honda pilot and leasing a Kia Sportage Hybrid LX. 42 city, 44 Hwy. I wish it had adaptive cruise control, but other than that looking forward to driving it over the next 3 years. Great review.❤
I've spent the last month watching videos, and many of them yours. I've been comparing all of this size suvs, and though I was really close to Rav4 I've just really been loving ever little thing I see on the Sport'age. The inside, the outside, the lights, the shape, the spacious cabin, the towing capacity, the quiet ride, the 5 year warranty... and the price. I just can't validate any other compact hybrid suv for 2024... and fyi, I'm not a young fellow, I'm 62 years old, and retired military. And as a mechanical/electrical engineering fellow from the Navy, I'm rather picky about the specs. lol
I had a CRV rental for 3 wks in the US recently, a lot of highway and freeway driving... I found it to be a great car very smooth and well fitted (for a rental). The flaring of the engine when pushed hard entering a freeway was... interesting. I never got used to the silly gear shift button/slider arrangement, in fact I hated it. Luggage space was great.
Hi there guys, awesome job as always. I think the Korean twins are the ones to beat right now. Honda is overpriced and I know that Zack believes in the bank of Toyota, but until they admit and fix the issues with the Hybrid cables (Cablegate) then i would not risk in buying a Rav4.
Just the video I was looking for. Test drove the CRV last week and the price doesn't bother me at all. no moonroof, no 360 camera, I guess currently they have a shortage on blind spot monitors as well...none of that bothers me. What bothered me was only having a 4 way power passenger seat on the top trim...and you can see in the video, the floor in the crv on the passenger side is very high. Not sure if this is something for the hybrid system or if it's the same way in the non hybrid, but I couldn't get my legs comfortable with the combination and lack of adjustability. It drove beautifully but I appreciate pointing out the differences in the hybrid system and the CVT trans because that's not something I realized cross shopping.
I have the Sport CRV AWD. The only reason I went to the hybrid is for more torque/horsepower. I also wanted rid of the start/stop button I hate that friggin thing. I like the vehicle. Disappointed with the lack of features. I think I will try a Kia or Subaru next time.
Excellent comparison. Something to note there is wait time of 1 - 2 years on Sportage phev lol so yea changes the topic completely. None of these Hybrids are available
I had a 2023 kia for only 7mths and I had to get rid of. There's a reason they give 5yrs, it's because they feel the need to, as i was wondering too but, came to realise after taking it back 6times for various issues from wireless charging system to engine control issues, it was just 1 after another. I just couldn't take it anymore so, for those looking for cost effectiveness, I was you 7 well now 8mths cause it's out my life for good. I'm never heading back to that lane again, i tried and i love the design both internal and external as well as the technology but, I'm looking out for my kids future, as I'm definitely hoping to give it to my daughter who's now 12yrs so she can drive her brother who's now 4yrs...5yrs she'll be 17 and our son will be 9. 2024 crv is a long haul vehicle that's why i switched and i love it 😀
The Kia is the big winner of this comparison. Quietest, more powerful, better fuel economy, much more equipments, better waranty. Yes the resale value will be better for the CR-V but after 10 years, in 2033, will you get 13 000$ more for the Honda ? (+ 15 000$ with the financing.) I doubt. Make profit the difference and you will have the half of your next vehicule in your pockets at that time. Only finish fan of Honda will take the CR-V.
CRV is one of the most stolen vehicle in Canada. That is also reflected in the insurance premium. It may be something to factor in if you are on the market for either one of those 2 vehicles
I just upgraded my 24 Seltos after 2 weeks to the exact vehicle in this video. Sportage is a much tighter vehicle and quieter than Seltos. Very nice all the way around. Thanks Joe
Just purchased a ‘24 crv hybrid sport awd versus the ‘23 Sportage EX; Honda wins in driver seat adjustability, steering feel, seat comfort and expected resale value down the road. Kia definitely wins the technology fight but I don’t trust the long term reliability. Pricing was within $3000 between the two but I suspect resale value of the Honda will make up a lot of that difference.
I know this Video is a year old at this point but, I tested teh CR-V, Tucson and the Sportage. I went with the SX Prestige. Amazing features for the Money and Ride comfort/sound in the cabin. Hands down the Kia. Also felt the rear seats offered more comfort in the Kia than Honda and Hyundai.
love the CRVs cool design but the sportage is better engineered (more hp, better real fuel economy) and overall more car for less money. and you only get a high resale value when you maintain the crv well
Considered KIA. Problem is KIA dealerships attempting to sell for much more. Best offer I got from KIA was $49,000 can For the HEVI EX. Got the Honda EX-L hybrid For about the Same. I am hoping the Honda will hold more value in 6 or 7 years. But right now you cannot compare MSRP as that is not what cars sell for.
Reality is these both are listed at same price at the dealership. Kia is selling 3-4k above the MSRP so both kia EX and Honda EX are selling for $35,500 here in Northern Virginia!
I was going to get a subaru outback but gas is really high here so I opted for a kia sportage hybrid. I was looking at the crv and rav4 but they were just too much for not alot so I got the sportage hybrid.
Love your channel and how you mix conversation with presentation. Here's a Q for you, which would you chose between hybrid Sportage vs Sorento considering price and losing really only 1 seat, i think driving accel / performance same? Thoughts? and thanks!
Kia seems to be just killing it with both design and pricing. The Kia's interior looks soooo much more modern than the Hondas. I really did not like that "cheese grater" interior trim when they introduced it on the Civic and it doesn't look any better in the CRV.
Try to go to the dealer and ask about the pricing that you claimed to be "killing it", if by killing it means the dealer kill your pocket yea sure you nail it in the coffin there guy! If I have to get fked over buying new between honda and kia, I'd rather get fked over by Honda
I agree that the new CRV is priced high but I'm holding judgement till the new RAV 4 model comes out and see the pricing on that. CRV's are built in Canada and nothing is cheap to produce in Canada. Kia builds a great car but I drove the new Sportage and my 5 year old CRV still feels like a much better built car. I'm not bashing Kia, lot's of tech yes but they are not built as solid as Honda.
Actually leaning towards a Kia because of price and warranty over Honda. I’m a Honda driver - same car for 25 years. Not sure about dependability on a Kia hybrid over Toyota and also wonder about the way Honda built their hybrid.
Great review guys! I am down here in the USA. You mentioned the Kia was more powerful. Is it much more powerful? Or is it barely noticeable. I was disappointed Honda did not offer the 2.0T engine in this new CRV. While I like Honda reliability, I can't argue with the Kia warranty. Also, you noted the Kia was quieter riding than the Honda---by much? Or are both interiors quiet. I really enjoy your reviews and this helps, I am still undecided between the two. Am I correct that I get a spare tire with Kia and not with the Honda?
I think the KIA is a better deal but I buy vehicles for the long haul and to me that's where Honda and Toyota shine. I live in the US and I'm older (58) so I would buy the Honda knowing the resale on it would be greater than the KIA.
Great review. i like the looks of the Honda CR V and the Kia but the price of the Honda could send Honda buyers else where and the the gas mileage you guys got with the CR V is not good for a Hybrid.
Wireless phone is nice, but it dramatically reduces charge time if one is using phone navigation which generally is far superior to the built in Navigation for most makes. I put a wireless dongle in my Outback but since I use Google nav most of the time, I usually plug the phone in. CR-V boasts more 5% more cargo space but the uneven surface/hump created by the rear seat backs decreases the usefulness for long items. Regarding reliability, Honda certainly has a better long term reputation. But the trend the past several years Honda's suggests that Honda's reliability is declining somewhat while Kia's reliability star is rising. The 2022 JD Power dependability study puts Kia at the top, and Honda below average; but I'm not sure how many years JD takes into consideration -- it may be short term, initial quality. Then there is the Kia warranty which is almost twice that of the Honda. I had multiple Honda' Civics from the 80s to 2011 with no issues what so ever. My 2019 Kia Niro PHEV with 18,000 miles has had a couple glitches but they were covered under warranty. If I were keeping my cars for more than 7 years or 50,000 miles, I suspect the Honda would prove less troublesome. My top priorities in a new car are utility, comfort, efficiency, & price. Looks are not high on my list. Both these rigs score well on all those accounts. Bottom line: both are great cars, but even if the price were the same, I would opt for the Kia.
To be honest the low trim of Kia still seems to offer more than Honda .. also yes resale value is going to be higher, you are paying 13k more upfront :D i
One costs less, has more features, more power, more range, better fuel efficiency, tows more, more warranty, more ground clearance, integrated touch screen, less noise, better transmission, looks better, and costs way less, easy choice.
Not when you can’t install a charging station in your apartment, condo, townhouse. Nor when the company you work for only leases the building and the building owners say no to charging stations. The infrastructure isn’t there, therefore PHEVs and EVs don’t make any sense when you can’t charge the damn thing.
@@rohitnijhawan5281 you are correct. But there is around $7000 in rebates available depending on where you live. Therefore- same price, but WAY better economy.
@@kevinW826 I think you may not understand the way to charge them - you don't have to charge them that way. You can charge them with the gas motor, use minimal gas to do so, and then drive in pure EV. Doing this will have an overall lower cost compared to these vehicles at the price these are.
@@Salesmanwithasleeve no it doesn’t work when the nearest gas station with a charger is 2.5 kms from home. In my town there are two chargers. There is no infrastructure for chargers here. I’m not using a public charger when they charge you to use it.
PS Any hints on when you'll be driving/reviewing the 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid? I'm pretty sure it's the same power train, and can't wait to hear your impressions. Thanks again! 👍👍
Many would be surprised that Kia ranked #1 for 2022 in dependability while Honda ranked #25, yes 25th (see motormouth alfa romeo stelvio review). The top 5 had 3 HMG brands with Toyota at 3rd. @14:15? See your own video with dependability ratings. I'm not saying Honda's are bad because we know they're not *but* rankings say otherwise than the traditional thought on this subject. Remember Hondas 1.5T engine issues?
@VR JA Is that all you got to say? Let me tell you something, just the other day I saw an older CR-V in fire off 285 where I live in Atlanta. So put that in your pipe and smoke it!
With the Kia , does the standard 187 hp strong enough or should we buy the hybrid with 227 hp ,the one to buy , thanks for all your great and honest videos, enjoy watching them.

I am a Honda fans. I think its a smart move by Honda, by giving Canadian a CR-V hybrid, finally and thankfully. Even if both Hyundai/Kia and Honda systems aren't as bomb proof as Toyota's legendary system. Although Sportage has a more attractive package, Honda has a far superior dealer network than Kia in province of B.C. That's despite some Honda dealers have so arrogant attitude because of its brand equity, In this case, I would pick the more understated CR-V package.
I've had my Sportage Hybrid for 6 months now and absolutely love it. I honestly have no regrets with my decision.
Any issue after a year now? What is your view?
@@guru14343 probably either a dud or classic oil consumption issue. There is no reason to buy KIA if you can't have a discount below msrp, just saying

It also started using oil, even though it only had 82,000 miles on it. Starter went out on it, and after having it replaced, it started acting up again.
So, this time, we are trying the Kia, and a hybrid at that, which we never thought we would do. Love it so far.
Any new update on this? I want to order HEV SX
Great review Andrea and Zack! I have a 2011 CRV EXL original owner with 300k KM. Great suv with no issues at all. Would love to get the new CRV but way too pricey! They lost a loyal Honda owner. Kia here I come.
I’ve traditionally been a Honda person but Kia has really stepped it up, I’ll be switching over once interest rates drop yikes!

You're not the only one, my friend. Honda think it's still 2016!
It’s not apples to apples. Honda is a more premium brand, higher resale value, Bose, wireless connectivity, and leather vs pleather.
@@Dugger1991 It lacks features! Even Toyota got the memo to stay competitive! They are still living in 2016!
@@jraheemjefcoat429 but if you want those features in a Toyota you have to pay 2-5k more plus dealer markups… no thanks!

Good review, folks.
I used to drive Honda before and was quite happy with them.
Now, I'm driving a Hyundai Tucson Plug-in (before I had an ix35) for about 1,5 years now and I'm outrageously happy with it. I'll choose that car over any Honda or Kia any day of the week! ;-)
FYI, Kia and Hyundai are the same company and you are driving the same SUV as the KIA, albeit with different styling inside and out.
The Sportage in UK looks extremely stylish and commanding on the roads no matter the drive train in my view of course Andrea. Once again I'm still leaning towards the Kia.
I think it looks great too, well done Kia!
I had the same questioning.. chose the Sportage PHEV SX got it this July 5th…. NO regrets.. a beauty in white color 😊😊😊😊
Wow!
I traded my 2023 Kia Sportage for a 2023 CR-V and it was the best decision I’ve made.
@@mindless6457 and why was it the best decision you’ve made? Missing some context
The Kia interior looks more modern. I like the knob shift and the curved display and panoramic sunroof and the price of Kia
We are driving the new X1 today and the screens look very similar to the screens in Kia models. The Sportage has a very upscale interior design.
@@andreaspencer9813 It's a German car in disguise!! All thanks to Peter Schryer and Albert Biermann for bringing the brand to life!
And the warranty!!
@@artsoto5459 you are a sheep
@@artsoto5459 yes exactly. I’ve owned a kia and it was the biggest turd ever. Garbage. My Hondas have lasted forever. Never any issues with them.
@Dpsaraujo so kia is maple leafs pretty much, got it
Just picked up my Sportage Hybrid EX. Love it. Fantastic car. Not questioning my choice in the least.
Got a PHEV SX white color same conclusion, no regrets 😊😊😊😊
how is it holding up?
@@AmanRajput01 Love it. I've had zero issues so far. Just regular maintenance. 9500 miles on it.
The CRV's interior looks like it's 30 years older than the Sportage's.
Planning to switch from Nissan to Kia Sportage this VDO is very helpful Thank you
2023 Sportage SX Prestige is the best. Pretty happy to own this one :)
Hi Gazi, has been trying to see if it will go through my garage door. Can't find one anywhere so I can measure it. Any chance you can tell me how wide is the car from mirror to mirror? Thanks!
After one year. Do you still like it?
Sales are tanking because they can’t produce enough vehicles
Honda needs to bring in a base model hybrid option for Canada just like in the US.
@@ryanmac358 Sound like a personal problem, to me. Toyota don't have that problem. I'm just speaking facts here! 🤷🏾
@@andreaspencer9813 I agree, Andrea! It's unfortunate that Honda is being irrational about this.

Test drove both yesterday. Was amazed how nice the sportage hybrid was …
My daughter picked up a Kia Sportage HEV in just 3 weeks in the US.
Awesome, hope she is enjoying it!
@@andreaspencer9813 very nice interior. I was impressed with the two tone interior. Nicer looking then the Honda or the Rav 4.

It's Crazy to see some Dealers in the US pricing the Kia way Above MSRP and still selling the cars😯
I am glad that in Ontario(Canada) it's illegal to sell above MSRP.
London Landrover dealer has a $20,000 "market adjustment " added to the msrp window sticker.
In Ontario for Kia HEV SX, I’m seeing the price on their website of $52,500 after taxes. This isn’t the price the video is showing.
Hope someone comes out with a black replacement for the front "exhaust trim". The chrome looks silly to me when the rest is black
100% dumb idea !
They will- it's probably got a part number, as that piece is BLACK on the sport hybrid model in the US. A lot of people are wrapping them, too.
Ugh, you mentioned those front exhaust things on the Honda, which is quite odd. It's not a deal breaker as I would buy the car for utility. The dealbreaker for me is the Sportage has the compact spare tire, which I really want.
Zack brining up super valid points about the value comparisons. Honda needs to get it together it’s 2023
I've had 11 Hondas, and for the first time, selling my Honda pilot and leasing a Kia Sportage Hybrid LX. 42 city, 44 Hwy. I wish it had adaptive cruise control, but other than that looking forward to driving it over the next 3 years. Great review.❤
Smart person, leasing KIA!
Wow Kia is the way to go!!
ECVT
I have the Sport CRV AWD. The only reason I went to the hybrid is for more torque/horsepower. I also wanted rid of the start/stop button I hate that friggin thing. I like the vehicle. Disappointed with the lack of features. I think I will try a Kia or Subaru next time.
Excellent comparison. Something to note there is wait time of 1 - 2 years on Sportage phev lol so yea changes the topic completely. None of these Hybrids are available
Kia is the best looking, Honda will probably last longer..BUT HONDA PRICING IS 👀 in CANADA! You mind as well buy the NX350H
I know, that hybrid is pricey, I look forward to Honda adding a base model hybrid option one day. Hopefully sooner than later.
I'm never heading back to that lane again, i tried and i love the design both internal and external as well as the technology but, I'm looking out for my kids future, as I'm definitely hoping to give it to my daughter who's now 12yrs so she can drive her brother who's now 4yrs...5yrs she'll be 17 and our son will be 9. 2024 crv is a long haul vehicle that's why i switched and i love it 😀
Like the Kia for its style and futuristic look; excellent warranty.
Yes, I bought a 2023 kia 7mths ago and all the issues started within 1month. I got rid of it fast 😢
I just traded in a 19 Civic Si for 4K less than its original MSRP. The CRV I bought is very nice.
Awesome comparison. Perhaps some safety comparisons would be warranted given family oriented vehicles!
I second this! Particularly vehicles that offer spare tires.
We've been trying to go with the Sportage since the end of October, but we're still waiting for one to come in almost 3 months later!
have you gotten one yet?
Thank you for the great review!
love the CRVs cool design but the sportage is better engineered (more hp, better real fuel economy) and overall more car for less money.
and you only get a high resale value when you maintain the crv well
Considered KIA.
Wise choice!
Once you showed the Sportage interior, it was like, "Why did the CRV even show up to the party? No one wants to dance with her!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love your channel and how you mix conversation with presentation.
I had 2 kias, between both of them I had 470k miles and NOT ONE issue.
Awesome video! Thank y’all!
I'd have to agree, I test drove both and Kia interior is nice but felt very cheap vs Honda
Actually leaning towards a Kia because of price and warranty over Honda. I’m a Honda driver - same car for 25 years. Not sure about dependability on a Kia hybrid over Toyota and also wonder about the way Honda built their hybrid.
Amazing video, thank you!
Could you do a review of the comparison between 2023 pilot vs telluride/palisade?
Yes, once we get the Pilot to drive, still waiting for it, we will definitely do some comparisons.
In the US Honda is now dropping Blindspot assistance on the lower grade CRV hybrid
🇺🇲 We have owned two new Honda SUV's a Honda CR-V 2007 AND Honda CR-V 2017. HONDA quality is deteriorating. We will be purchasing No More Hondas...

It's noticeable. The Kia has a lot of spanking when you push it.
Which one you did choose at the end?
Currently cross shopping a CRV to Rav 4 and RAVs are 4K$ more! 😮
Very Nice video by the way
I think the KIA is a better deal but I buy vehicles for the long haul and to me that's where Honda and Toyota shine. I live in the US and I'm older (58) so I would buy the Honda knowing the resale on it would be greater than the KIA.
Kia nailed it with price and better buy overall especially with panoramic sunroof
Which one will have a better resale in 5-7 years? More than likely, the Honda, no?
Hoping to buy a Sportage HEV later this year, but hard to even find one to test drive.
Honestly, PHEV's make more sense when you get to this price point....
PHEVs are 6-7k more. That's been my experience when shopping and you need to install a 240v outlet in your garage.

Although Sportage has a more attractive package, Honda has a far superior dealer network than Kia in province of B.C. That's despite some Honda dealers have so arrogant attitude because of its brand equity, In this case, I would pick the more understated CR-V package.
But the price though? I don't live in Canada and I'll be damn I'm paying $50k for a Honda CR-V! I'm a Millenial, by the way.
Hi, which one is better over bumps which is more dancing 😊thank u.
