Deep in the English countryside sits this abandoned enchanting 15th century thatched mansion, it looks like a scene from Godricks Hollow in Harry Potter!
Over 300 years of history are held within the walls of this beautiful timbered home.
It's charming interior remains very original thanks to its grade II listing.
A number of the previous inhabitants belongings remain, exquisite hand carved ebony furniture is spread throughout the whole house, some rooms appearing as if someone left just yesterday, the mould and decay tell otherwise.

6:40 ‘This place is probably worth over a million…’ And the rest! That’s the price of just four terraced houses in some cities!
7:25 I’m not keen on those flint corners, they would trash your slippers if you snagged them!
7:56 Were you caught on a PIR detector? Let’s hope it wasn’t an alarm.
10:30 Jess sniffs out a trapdoor. She has a nose for basements!
11:00 Did you say ‘That’s the bell’? Those things are the pendulum and the weights that drive the clock. The fact that the clock isn’t standing square is bothering me a little - I’d want you to put it straight - but I don’t think there’s much straight in the whole place!
The power’s on? One day you’ll be exploring and you’ll find the owner asleep in bed!
    14:30 That looks like brandy
14:45 That cabinet of geological finds is amazing! I want an trilobite fossil! You can keep the mummified rat! :D
    17:00 Sarlat… nice place
19:43 Everyone loves a Belfast sink!
Lifts the lid of the large pot… what’s in there? Huh, nothing, thankfully!
20:52 Sam succcessfully unlocks the door. You’re lucky that Jess loosened it!
Those stained glass dividers are awesome!
    22:35 Mind the step, Jess!
23:00 Those kids are probably old, now, like, our age! Ha ha!
24:20 Basement - what is that on the far wall? Wine rack? Looks like those earthenware wine rack blocks that you can still buy in French Supermarkets
26:20 Does that iron bar emerge on the outside wall with a big old X to hold the wall together?
32:20 Those bathrooom tiles are cool!
33:00 Definitely a fox knocker. Check the bushy tail!
38:30 They weren’t short of fire extinguishers, were they? Can’t have too many in a thatched place with open fires!
That was a great old place! I enjoyed coming along with you on this one!

  • @Ozwald22

Its convenient that you never showed how you broke into the property! If there was an entry why not document this?
How much are you going to donate to the owners for using their electricity for the day and using their house.
It is not abandoned. If it was, the power would have been cut off a long time ago. There is still standing charges being paid for the power connection. The intruder alarm is also powered up. It's a shame it never alerted.
You have no idea how much damage is done by entering private dwellings without permission.
If you can afford to travel the country breaking into homes, you can afford a national trust membership where your membership is invested in the maintenance of properties instead of your time being invested in wrecking properties and lives.
    Clearly, someone owns this!
You are also infringing human rights by regularly intruding on the personal lives of individuals.
Do not say you are doing this for the nation. You are actually ruining historic buildings and lands.
Your lack of historic knowledge is also apparent in your embarrassing comments.
You have no right being there. Let's hope nobody does this to your home when you are not in a position to consent to intrusion of this sort.
You are not explorers, you know what you are.

Maybe if the owner/s have not made a will or if they have it has to be read and the family have to apply for GRANT OF PROBATE then because of COVID there is a long delay and it could take months or even a couple of years to get this before you can sell it.
It would be sacrilige if this property would not be restored to how it was back in the day. If it is grade 1 or 2 then it will be saved

what a fantastic place this one has got to be the best I've seen in ages, you have a lovely sensitive way of filming very respectful, its something a lot of others have lost and should take notice of, i just really do hope no one bad finds this beautiful historic home and trashes it

Totally agree this has to be kept very quiet it's beautiful. 🤞 Nobody should ever vandalise it's disgusting. But I do think that Sam or Jess on the quiet should contact Heritage Foundation ? Not sure who they can contact ? But it should never be kept unoccupied. It should be listed somewhere. But they can't tell us that, and I don't want them to either 🤞 They themselves should look it up 🏚️

Wow !!!! its not very often I can say im left speachless....what a truely amazing house. The shepards stick is called a "crook" the would usualy have a more bendy hook on the top, used for pulling sheep or more often lambs from hedgerows or other places they might get stuck. I think I should go live there because of the ravens/crows in the glass porch. The two glass panels in the conservetory were arts and craft. Probably original. Thank you, loved this one 💜🕉

Absolutely stunning building and the furniture is gorgeous to look at. Very much similar to Warwick Castle's furniture. There could well be a signature etched in the graving of the wood. So a magnifying glass would be an option if you both ever come across something like this again. Worth having a detailed look and Google search who made these wonderful well made craftsmanship. Totally awesome I'm glad I'm British 🏚️ Stay safe 🌈👍

Wow, wow and once again wow. What an absolutely fantastic building and those pieces of furniture left me speechless. I really love tumor buildings like this so would have been jumping up and down with excitement at seeing the outside of this let alone the inside. How heart breaking it is to see this building being left to rot when it should be saved. The crows, owls, green men etc made me think that the last owners were maybe very much into some kind of paganism and don't think that they were original to the building but what a beautiful building. Great video guys x

The stuff in the cabinet are finds from in and around the property, seen this before in old houses, Ive been all round the country in stately homes and doing what you two lovely people are doing 25years ago but we didn't have mobile phones with cameras and we didn't have the internet and the lovely black country furniture, from the black Forest Germany and the antique Chesterfield leather chairs, the picture on the wall is of a soilder from the Great war " the first World war" I would be in heaven in there x

Governments shouldn't allow this kind of property to rot. Give them away for 1 quid, fanc, peso, etc. to anyone that has the resources to take them on and restore them with accuracy.
    Heartbreaking. 😢
Surely someone can save the georgeous wood furniture. We live with throw away crap made in China or screw together IKIA while this real exquisite furniture rots abandoned. 😢😢 😠 😡

I would just like to say, "you two are such a lovely couple". You are caring and compassionate when exploring. This was a incredible find!! The carved woodwork and layout throughout this house was so beautiful ! It really saddens me to see so much left behind and why? Here in NY we pay land and school taxes yearly and if you get in arrears they foreclose on the property , force you to move out and sell your property at auction. I wonder why so many places there are just left to rotten. Another wonderful video... thank you...this was amazing.
