  • This is a new version of the Li-ion battery pack for Fluke 19x scopemeters.
CORRECTION: the label on the battery pack should have said 6300 mAh. The donor pack was 3s2p, and I tested each PAIR before building the pack, and measured about 4200 each. But then the pack was reconfigured as 2s3p. Sorry about this confusion.

A complete schematic of the pack would be helpful, inclusive of dimensions and CD weld tab locations.

This is not a bad scope meter- it’s nice that the probes are completely isolated, so you don’t need to worry about having an isolation transformer to prevent your scope from blowing up. The software features of the scope are antiquated, but for basic troubleshooting it’s quite okay.

Very neat and professional, especially with the PVC heat shrink which I now need to go buy. I didn't know multi-cell packs could be partially (?) balanced, I'm guessing this pack is a series of two sets of three-parallel cells?

      yes, 2s3p configuration. why partially?

@@feedback-loop I meant to imply that in parallel you can't control cell charging currents individually, although its clear voltages are well controlled. I put a (?) to imply I know little about cell chemistry or charging, and perhaps this isn't a problem except in catastrophic failures like a shorted cell.

Keep an eye on it though if you're not using it for a longer time. Depending on the topology of the balancing module, it might drain the battery or half of it.
I've seen various 4 cell balancing boards now, that where fitted by the manufacturer of batteries that actually drained 1 or 2 cells.

EN: Same problem here, don't want new NiMH, would likee to use newer batteries like LiPo or LiFePO4. Could you give more information please:
      1) Which wires of the original jack mean what?
      2) Where did you take the BMS featured (link if possible)?
      3) A diagram of new system would be great
      4) The type of batteries is different now. I wonder if the original power supply (designed for NiMH) works for LiXX batteries or how do you charge?
      5) what is exactly the type of your batteries?
I am thinking of using 2S out of 26650 LiFePO4 cells I have - do you think it is possible? Will it work and charge? Could you suggest a BMS or is it possible just to plug + and - into the existing jack, what do you think?
(I understand It will not be nearly as neet as your setup, but who cares, if it is buried inside the scope...)
Thank you very much in advance!

I did not propose over-discharging it. Healthy discharge to 2.8V - 3V (per cell). That should make it much safer to handle
