One is referencing the other. You either get a towerdive going off of a cheater recall and subsequent traves, or you use the minion advantage during bounce back to trade in your favor, potentially setting up a tower dive IF the enemy is on low enough health.
I am an ADC player who will never play top lane in ranked, but I will use this knowledge for when I play norms with Cho'gath and Ornn because I just bought their cute April Fools skins. So thank you.
8:45 the only reason he didn't lose much farm here is because he ulted back to the lane LOL. Without TP, most champs would have lost quite a bit if they recalled there before the canon wave, no?
Yeah, it is so easy after level 6 to push a wave back, I do this many times, push a big wave, recall, by the time I come back, I have lost the entire wave, so technically the enemy gets ahead of you unless you have TP or Sion ult.
That's why tp is importance, especially early game since lose 1 wave could mean a lot so if you were in a bad position and need a reset, or get gank and now facing the pressure of the enemies crash into your towner and lose your xp and gold, so tp come in to help you navigate that bad situation, Sion R is just a huge replacement for tp so you can switch tp to something else like ghost + flash, or flash + ignite, etc.... and also his passive help with setup wave, crashing wave and so on, that's why Baus abused those thing so effectively, but it's does not make Sion op, it's just make up for what he lack in mobility and so on. What Im saying is that, every toplaners can apply this strat as long as they bring tp with them, it's only rotten range toplaner's brain with flash + ghost trying to cheese will get punish for it in longer run
Good catch. That's honestly our bad for using Sion as an example, but I promise you that in the majority of situations you can get back to lane in time to pick up the wave. Sometimes you're a bit late and lose a few and sometimes if you recall really late you'll lose the whole wave and have to use Sion ult or teleport. The way you can tell how much time you have is by looking at your next incoming wave, the further away the more time you'll have since it mirrors where the enemy's next wave is too.
It’s champion dependent. Higher wave clear champs especially garen make it very difficult to get a bounce back. You have to pretty much do a proxy wave clear and back asap so they dont dont end up pushing their wave under your turret before you get back to lane
I understand now why ranged top lane is so hated now. They can basically skip this turn based slow push cycle and harass you or farm with smaller risk from minions or trading with the other champ.

Isnt the darius example on push lead very poor choice of champs? Darius will run almost any champ down on lvl 1 and if rene was hitting minions the lane would push towards darius side allowing him to zone rene from xp and gold even harder than usualy. I honestly would like to know your thought on this since I as P1 Ornn OTP would just stand away from first bush and wait for Darius to do his "brrr, must-hit-things" strat and just farm under turret until I have items to fight him. But maybe I just have PTSD from how many times Darius players cheesed me on lvl 1.

It doesnt really apply for midlane. You see, in top, after you set up the big crash and the recall, the opponent has to clear and recall to avoid being behind in items. The result is that the first guy who crashed will return to a big wave and get the xp lead, not the item advantage, as the other guy also recalled, just xp. Might want to call your jungler to get him when he is overextended so the enemy burns flash or he retreats and allows you to keep the freeze for a few moments in any case. You then use your mana, hp and lvl advantage to bully him out and make him recall and lose a wave. But that requires you to actually hit your skills. What you can do instead is to dance in and out of the maximum range of your opponent and making him miss his spells on you. then, after that ability is down, you can try to hit him and the wave when he has to go for a last hit.
I wonder if this applies to all champions, on my mordekaiser, I usually try to base near lv6 to buy t2 boots, and cheater recalls don't really help me with this
I would have enjoyed it more if you explained the Darius matchup better. For low elo players, they do not understand what Stat Checker champs do and why they win in an isolated matchup. The Darius game in the first part of the video is a good example why Stat Checker champs are a key point of "winning lane".
wait can someone explain to me how to build up a big wave? Is it just letting them push pretty much? Is there really a difference in how many minions come down the lane?
When the wave crashes into the tower, you can build up 2 waves since your minions are forced to attack the enemy minons for a while, allowing multiple waves to stack together
I have understood. And i have used this already. but it all does not matter if the enemy gets 3 ganks from jgl, one from mid and one from support, whilst my jgl just visits to steal kanon and plates.... :(
Nasus is stronger than people expect early. You can't trade like a donkey but he can catch people by surprise especially after 6 with a sheen. Also his life steal makes it hard to push him out of lane if you aren't pushing your wave with E.
@danielboulos7749 nah dude , i started playing trundle , i am on an 11 match win streak with him , and played vs a nasus ( i expected him to be very weak ) but his w full countered me and his e was insane poke . Still won in the end but it was close
Well isnt about winning, it's about playing better, if you play better you are going to be queued with better players(As always, there gonna be exceptions) and you'll be rewarded with more LP's and climbing faster to get to the rank you'll need to be. The problem with the people who play is that doesnt have PATIENCE, one game you play better wont put you with gold people if youre bronce or silver, even if you lose but didnt play bad, eventually your elo will be Higher than it was, for example you played 20 games your elo is higher, you are gaining 30 LP's per win and losing 10 lp's per lose, it doesnt matter if you los 4 games in a row if you already got 3 wins you are gaining more LPs than the quantity you lose, 3 wins means 90 LP's and four losses means 40lp's, but people isnt patient enough to reach that level and thinks the reason they dont climb is of the other players. The biggest issue I have with top is being able to carry once ahead. I know all the freezes and wave resets and I have great matchup knowledge since I play only top, but even at 5 0 you can't reliably carry as a top laner. Top lane champs( bruisers and tanks) suck at scalling and very rarely can they 1 v 9. You can consistently be one of the team's carries and ensure that if your adc dies because they got focused you can clean up.
Is it a good tactic to freeze on purpose so you can purposely kill your minions and make them miss out on their exp while they expect me to bring a wave into their tower or are doing something else?
If one person just want 1 advice for getting better in top, just learn minion waves. And how to play around minions to win even with weaker champion or even counterpick
I have a little trouble with the first part of this video, Champs like jax, sett, darius, olaf, riven, pantheon, Quinn,vayne...etc can actually just run at you lvl1 and you'll die before you hit 2.while your minions do basically nothing. Like first example if Renekton had just started autoing, wouldn't change that fact other than him being chunked and his lane pushing away.
this is amazing content and i love what i learned. now it's riots time to step up their game with rebalancing teams and tiers. when i do all this in toplane to get 1 kill and 1 plating, my teammates will do a grand tour of most amount of deaths in 5 minutes, whilst screaming at each other like little babies.
i am pready good at laning now i feel like i am diamond 3 rn but i often find myself in a situation where i cant carry because sometimes i make some mistakes after laning phase i know carrying in mid to high rank rquieres to do some risky plays but i feel like i fail that a lot of the time
depends on the matchup & what you build. an ap gragas/ ap bruiser gragas will look to play more agressive then full tank. Its really hard to give a clear cut answer for gragas specifically because gragas is so flexible. he can do short trades with grasp e-w which be devastating to play against(for example for a jax its impossible) but gragas is also one of the kings of toplane in playing weakside and just scale up and dont lose too bad.
8:52 won't lose any farm after the rebound. Yes sure buddy, you used Sion ult to get back to lane and only just grabbed 4 minions. Not every one can do that.
Great tip to new players, try mundo. You're gonna have ass early games anyways but this way you can atleast turn into a monster late game as long as your teams stable. I've got a K/D of like .6, but a win rate of 93% because of this. Doesnt matter if you're bad, the amount of meat shielding you can do is infinitely valuable.
Theres two memes: Toplane is an island and If you want Toplane you must think like a Warrior. But Lane is Key to Victory it is hard if your enemy want fight 24/7, like a Darius, Aatrox, etc. and you wont. Please make a Video about that. Great Content as always stay tuned
besides watching streams/VODS of challenger urgot players and figure out what they do. i could give you some advice, although im only emerald... yes urgot naturally pushes waves and he is ranged so in most matchups you take the first plate almost guaranteed, what i see a lot of urgot players in is overstaying for plates when they are harder to take. i have killed so many urgots when i got back from base with an item advantage because they greed for an extra plate. and while urgot does naturally push waves. you can still slow push and freeze. you just have to make sure you blow your passive on a last hit where it wont hit multiple minions. then you just cs like any other champ. besides that you could just choose to make use of your natural strong pushing power and use it to stack waves and invade enemy jungle. for that you require a deep ward or the ability to track jungle though. also top objectives should always be yours as urgot
okay but the third wave you push in as your cheater recall example @5:00 is right outside the tower and the only reason you get to push it in is because of matchup. if darius or olaf or tf with ghost is there you cannot push in that wave that close to tower without getting run down. you pushed to fast in your example of not pushing to fast lol.
Or you just counterpick with a meta champ. Tbh it is a really good guide and easy explained. Good Job Edit: You can also make the wave push back into you even tho the both waves should go in the middle (neutreal psition). You have to pull the enemy wave by pulling them to first bush in top lane
freezing has no counter once you get frozen on, the counter is to prevent getting frozen on. you get frozen on if your wave is slowpushing to enemy and hes stronger than you. your wave is gonna start to slowpush towards the enemy after he crashes a big wave under your turret, because your wave arrives and stays for some time under your turret, and then is reinforced by another your wave. you can counter that by insta clearing a wave under your turret before your wave arrives and gets blocked by enemy wave, or by not allowing enemy to crash big waves, for example by trading hp to thin out the wave. also proxying instantly stop the freeze, but you sacrifice a wave.
Because they don't ever look at minimap, get afk all game playing their sidegame, and don't matter what, never listen to pings, all miss, extremely overextended, the whole team danger pinging them, no other lane with pression nor objectivies up, and they just ignore everything, it's like they are 2 elos above what they deserve.
Easy, the enemy jg keeps camping me mega hard and buys vision for the top lane. Apparently they think the game is won from top. Meanwhile my jg doesn't do grubs, dragon or gank any other lane.
Their jungle being laser focused on you, so long as you don't feed kills, means they're losing farm, xp, vision and giving your mid and bot lane space and lack of gank pressure to make plays. It sucks to be in that spot but as long as you're keeping them tied up, you're providing value to the team. Of course we can't help the rest of the team be good, but at least we can help them be the best version of themselves
this only works if and only if they actually stay in the laning phase with you. I've had at least 3 games with the cheese strat where the enemy are between 2nd and 3rd tower and just take the waves. Either die to an execution or just recall because they see no pursuit. If you pursue, you lose out on 2 waves because you are chasing an enemy and losing out on minion farm. This strat works but is stupid cheessey and dumb and it works in their favor. Lost 2 out of 3 games to this strat. Other lanes couldn't win and force the laning phase to be over and push a single lane and for them to teamfight. The only reason i won the 3rd game was because the other lanes won and quickly pushed and forced the enemy player to abandon their strat to help their team.
You actually don't want to cheater recall if you have mana and health, u want to stay, invade the jungler, gank mid, or just stay and start thinning the wave
Yup.absolutely right .since you cant stop your opponent to last hit, lane control/freezing is the only thing you can do.Unlike in DOTA where you can deny your own minions and even towers ,thus denying gold to your enemy until he cant afford to even buy a set of boots.😅. In my opinion.lane control is easier on LOL

POV your an aatrox main and your friends says you need to watch this but skip the tower dive part cause you already do that fine
I have a little trouble with the first part of this video, Champs like jax, sett, darius, olaf, riven, pantheon, Quinn,vayne...etc can actually just run at you lvl1 and you'll die before you hit 2.while your minions do basically nothing. Like first example if Renekton had just started autoing, wouldn't change that fact other than him being chunked and his lane pushing away.
this is amazing content and i love what i learned. now it's riots time to step up their game with rebalancing teams and tiers. when i do all this in toplane to get 1 kill and 1 plating, my teammates will do a grand tour of most amount of deaths in 5 minutes, whilst screaming at each other like little babies.
one contradiction after the other^^ "not about trading"... 11:17 "all about trading"
endnu en god video fra ProfitPeter
awesome video guys tks
i am pready good at laning now i feel like i am diamond 3 rn but i often find myself in a situation where i cant carry because sometimes i make some mistakes after laning phase i know carrying in mid to high rank rquieres to do some risky plays but i feel like i fail that a lot of the time
should a gragas top try to get the push lead or should he play more safe because of bad early
depends on the matchup & what you build. an ap gragas/ ap bruiser gragas will look to play more agressive then full tank.
Doesnt matter if you're bad, the amount of meat shielding you can do is infinitely valuable.
need a video like this for mid
There is one, came out a couple months ago. It's the The Complete Beginner's Guide for Mid Lane in Season 14.
@@saltysavagexd thanks i will check it.
I mean Zed vs Renekton obviously can't walk up to shove the wave into the tower. Renekton always has the option to freeze in that matchup...
Yea I was shocked when I saw that as one of the games used. Surely there's gotta be a better example than that
Im watching this when the game autofills me 50% of the times toplane knowing i have a huge skill issue playing this god forbidden role.
4:50 u forgot about that u cant use that vs fast clear champs
imagine teaching lol and be proud about that. Humanity at it's best.
Please do a midlane version of this video pleaseeee
Theres two memes: Toplane is an island and If you want Toplane you must think like a Warrior. But Lane is Key to Victory it is hard if your enemy want fight 24/7, like a Darius, Aatrox, etc. and you wont. Please make a Video about that. Great Content as always stay tuned
What about wave management with Urgot? Cause he naturally pushes the wave
besides watching streams/VODS of challenger urgot players and figure out what they do. i could give you some advice, although im only emerald... yes urgot naturally pushes waves and he is ranged so in most matchups you take the first plate almost guaranteed, what i see a lot of urgot players in is overstaying for plates when they are harder to take. i have killed so many urgots when i got back from base with an item advantage because they greed for an extra plate. and while urgot does naturally push waves. you can still slow push and freeze. you just have to make sure you blow your passive on a last hit where it wont hit multiple minions. then you just cs like any other champ. besides that you could just choose to make use of your natural strong pushing power and use it to stack waves and invade enemy jungle. for that you require a deep ward or the ability to track jungle though. also top objectives should always be yours as urgot
Great video but I wonder if certain concepts will work in wildrift
okay but the third wave you push in as your cheater recall example @5:00 is right outside the tower and the only reason you get to push it in is because of matchup. if darius or olaf or tf with ghost is there you cannot push in that wave that close to tower without getting run down. you pushed to fast in your example of not pushing to fast lol.
Please make an Irelia Top Guide pleeeaase
This is such a good video. My enemy immediately call me for being like diamond after I tried the first few tips even tho I am still bronze
Oh boy cant wait to jump into a game with a good feeling and getting completely annihalitated by a lvl 3 dive with enemy jungler
Not the enemy champion stat checking me with no minions and down items
Just tried to apply this. Heimerdinger Top. Completely dominated me, i couldnt leave tower.
Or you just counterpick with a meta champ.
Tbh it is a really good guide and easy explained. Good Job
Edit: You can also make the wave push back into you even tho the both waves should go in the middle (neutreal psition). You have to pull the enemy wave by pulling them to first bush in top lane
but how do you counter freezing?, like if you try to farm, you die
Pray
@@poom323 Thank you🙏
freezing has no counter once you get frozen on, the counter is to prevent getting frozen on. you get frozen on if your wave is slowpushing to enemy and hes stronger than you. your wave is gonna start to slowpush towards the enemy after he crashes a big wave under your turret, because your wave arrives and stays for some time under your turret, and then is reinforced by another your wave. you can counter that by insta clearing a wave under your turret before your wave arrives and gets blocked by enemy wave, or by not allowing enemy to crash big waves, for example by trading hp to thin out the wave. also proxying instantly stop the freeze, but you sacrifice a wave.
@@Elolesio Alr, Thanks.
i am now a skarner top abuser so this comes is handy
Good stuff in here i learned things
thanks, I went from being 0/0 to 0/5 in just 10 minutes
We’re getting out of bronze with this one boys!
Tip #1, don’t play Top
I fell asleep with this channel's videos autoplaying now I'm stuck in Challenger
instructions unclear, ended up locking in karma top
@@Big_Red_Dork totally this. Very mature and on point, max honor comment.
this only works if and only if they actually stay in the laning phase with you.
Good guide, but this lane is really frustrating and really controversial, but I actually saw my mistakes from this video,
You actually don't want to cheater recall if you have mana and health, u want to stay, invade the jungler, gank mid, or just stay and start thinning the wave
Literally how i got to master from platinum this season:
-Learn how to manage waves
-Play Vayne and Rumble
Certified pdf
I saw the whole video, I locked in Fiora, I get a counterpicked by a master smurf vlad and I die at lvl 1. Great experience!
now i know a lot about course of skill capped but not skill play
Yup.absolutely right .since you cant stop your opponent to last hit, lane control/freezing is the only thing you can do.Unlike in DOTA where you can deny your own minions and even towers ,thus denying gold to your enemy until he cant afford to even buy a set of boots.😅. In my opinion.lane control is easier on LOL
So this is how the enemy top laner keeps getting double kills before krugs even spawn!
"you must know wave control"
me refusing to lane as singed:
remember toplaners, this is a good guilde but doesn't works for most counter matchup
Because if I pick Melee, they pick always Range!
This reminds me that riot should fix bot matches, we don’t need two bots on top or super aggressive ai
Next step: How to prevent my entire team from feeding while im 1v1 top.
Watched your video and I guess I’m not doing a single thing wrong. I simply get trash junglers that feed my lane.
Hey can you pls help how can i get refund theres no custmor service i bought the yearly plan by mistake and i cant get it back im serching for a whole hour pls help
