To point out. A lot of information here are more or less completely wrong if we are talking about ancient China. For starters rice was NOT the main crop until rather recently in development in China history as originally people ate white millet and soybeans as staples then foxtail millet and wheat became popular and then finally rice became the staple around 1000 years ago.
To add paper money does NOT work like how it is today. Paper money was litterally called “silver cheques”it was redeemable only in government bank to store money. You can’t just hand it to anyone and expect goods or the amount of silver as often times the amount is quite a lot.
I am also very confused on your interpretation of confuscionism and daoism as that’s really not the point nor what they did. Daoism may have originally been like that but overtime as it was adopted into Chinese state more and more it became the religious institution of China and replacing the earlier shamans. They did talk about philosophy especially in the Jin dynasty but that was one of the reasons why society collapsed.
