OMG I love these videos, love them. Love your honesty, Lauren. Also you met Josef, I love his beard he knows. Two of my fave vegans collabing I love it. 😍
environmental fun fact! new york city drinking water is actually known worldwide as some of the cleanest water (: we get our water from protected upstate reservoirs lol that's why it tastes so amazing
That’s true about the New York City water, because it’s from a pristine reservoir upstate New York, but it depends what pipes the water flows through… If the pipes are old or have heavy metals, then that ruins the water quality.
Lauren, it was so great meeting you at the Philly meet-up. Really fun to watch you go to V Street and the Tasty. Hope you got a donut at the Tasty- best ones I've ever had (way better than Dottie's!). Next time you're in town I'd recommend Front Street Cafe, New Harmony, and Memphis Taproom but there are sooo many places here. We have it good!
I’m also surprised the pho place messed up considering there are a lot of vegetarian Vietnamese restaurants in the US (where there are VN communities) and even many vegetarian restaurants in Vietnam. (There’s also vegetarian fish sauce!)
I love the Video Lauren.. Natalie is so dang cute it is pitiful. What a sweet person she seems to be. LMFAO at 23:37.. those hands that girl gave you... I am dying right now. My son watches Josef... haha. Great video... look forward to part 2. Love you so much woman!!
Lauren, you are the absolute cutest. Also, THANK YOU for taking the time to write down in the description box every restaurant + what you ordered! I am going to Nashville this weekend and this is so helpful! You DA BEST.
I have been waiting for this 'what I ate' video. Amazing as always! Congrats Lauren on such a successful book launch. You're an inspiration and literally embody the power of manifestation. xxxX keep shining
Omg you came to Nashville! I live like 30 mins south of Nashville and I'm way too lazy to go all the way to East Nashville to eat... Traffic is horrible! 😭 you should've tried Succulent Vegan Tacos they have amazing authentic Mexican food! But they are only open certain days at the Nashville Fairgrounds...
The perils of being vegan and eating in an omni establishment. It will never be prepared vegan, or 100% cooked without cross contamination. We need more vegan only restaurants!!! Your giggles awesome!
I'm so happy you went to Nashville! Im from STL and my boyfriend and I drove there to try Wild Cow a couple weeks ago. One day STL will bump up their vegan scene.
Definitely made dinner 30 minutes ago (and ate it all) but since I'm watching your videos, I'm obviously hungry again. Gotta go see what I can cook up #recipe?! ;) love ya!
Theres two good vegan dim sum places. The Original Buddha Bodai (5 Mott St) and Bodhi Vegetarian (77 Mulberry). The original one isn't as great as Bodhi. Also, they used to have have like they exact same name "Buddha Bodai", but were never affiliated. Also, we have some of the best water. It is absolutely safe to drink.
Sasha Shvarts I looked on their menu, are the items with “veg” the vegan items? Because the only things I see marked as “vegan “ are their sushi. I’m going to nyc soon and I’d love to try this place but I want to be sure which items are vegan cx
Ahhh. You went to the tasty! I live in south philly. That cute little place is fooled from the outside! They have amazing food! Highly suggest if you live in philly.
‘Hope I don’t have to become a fodmap person’ 😂 just so you know, you can have a quarter cup of well rinsed tinned chickpeas per meal on the low fodmap diet 😜 love ya Lauren 😘
So glad you loved V Street. The owners of that restaurant also own Wiz Kid and Vedge. If you’re feeling like a fancy dinner 10/10 would recommend Vedge. The complex flavors they achieve in their dishes just blow my mind.
Ahh I went to an all-vegan dimsum place in Chinatown New York, and their dim sum was amazing!! Their fried taro dumplings were to die for. It's called Buddha Bodai and it was on Mulberry St. There's 2 with the same name lol, but they're not affiliated with each other.
FYI next time your in Philly, I recc. Hip City Veg, Blackbird Pizza, and Dotties Donuts for fast food. And you MUST absolutely try Vedge for fine dining. My one and only visit to The Tasty was very under welcoming and disappointing, so whoever recommended it to you is seriously suffering from a taste bud deficiency!
Next time you're in Vancouver, Sun Bo Kong has amazing vegan dim sum. I was never a dim sum fan before going vegan but Sun Bo Kong changed that. Make sure to order the BBQ pork buns and taro dumplings.
I looked on their menu, are the items with “veg” the vegan items? Because the only things I see marked as “vegan “ are their sushi. I’m going to nyc soon and I’d love to try this place but I want to be sure which items are vegan cx
OMG!!!!! I'M SO SAD!!! Im the manager at blossom du jour in Chelsea and I cant believe i wasn't working that day AND that no one told me you came!!!!! holy crap! sigh.... one day
Oh my god that is always what happens when my girlfriend and I go to Dim Sum, we end up ordering tons of food for just the two of us! (But I love the dim sum place near me)
omg lauren, chickpeas have been making me soo gassy lately. like out of nowhere they started to do that to me it's so weird. won't stop eating them though hehehe
It does the same to me too! Hummus usually doesn't cause it for me, but if I have them whole in a salad or roasted as a snack it gives me the weirdest stomach ache.
Is it terrible that I don’t look for vitamin d in foods that I buy? I check for the main things, meat, eggs, dairy, and gelatin. I don’t bother with the vitamins. Maybe that’s bad of me but I wouldn’t be able to eat anything if I did that! And hey I’m doing more than most people!
GURL. I have totally been in a similar situation while dining out at a delicious Thai food restaurant here in Seattle. I always have to ask for no fish sauce, or at least ask if the dish comes with it and sub soy sauce instead, however prettyyy sure I've accidentally eaten fish or dairy in their peanut sauce. One server told me there was no fish sauce in it and the next time I went I asked again and sure enough, fish sauce in the peanut sauce. I get that it's a traditional ingredient in, like, all legit thai food but I'm so traumatized. I feel for you. Your bowl of pho looked really bomb though.
I looked on their menu, are the items with “veg” the vegan items? Because the only things I see marked as “vegan “ are their sushi. I’m going to nyc soon and I’d love to try this place but I want to be sure which items are vegan cx
Kat Lindblom-Green Yes, everything is vegan! It's confusing just looking at the menu because it doesn't say 'vegan' everywhere. I believe they use a combo of shiitake and soy to make the faux meat - the texture is spot on. I'd recommend going during lunch and ordering dim sum off of the paper menu (the fried taro dumpling and house steamed buns are my fave). By Chloe's mac n cheese is also a must eat, and Mother of Pearl in the village is AWESOME but a little pricey :)
i just did a vegan oops. I had some cookies crackers and I though they were vegan and they had wheat and milk in them and I had about 8. I found this out 3 hours after i ate them when i was cleaning up the kitchen. Good that my family liked them because I am not longer eating them. this is oops 4 so far this year!
Time for me to call the POLICE cuz Lauren’s out here eating whatever she wants every ten minutes and I’m out here sweating like a PIG trying to lose weight!!!! Ugh!!!! I’m so jealous smh :((((
omg Josef's idea of a Kittén Kafé™ was such a good idea!
We have a couple cat cafes here in Seattle and they're amaaazing!
Why not? The dogs have all the privilege. Doggie cafes, hotels, spas and boutiques. The kittens have been left behind!
Kitten cafe? nah. I'm waiting for hot for food diners to open up across CanadAAAAHHHH
**putting it out into the Universe**
**manifest**
**manifest**
If they make hot for food diners please put one in Chicago!!!
SirPigalicous
And LA
Bring one to Boston!!!!
The water in NYC is super clean. Some of the best in the country. No need to buy bottled next time you're there :)
Randi Great to know!
Smacking me with two videos???! Made my day lol.
The face Lauren makes when she bites into that açai tart and says: it tastes healthy so that's ... MAYBE ... good?
OMG I love these videos, love them. Love your honesty, Lauren. Also you met Josef, I love his beard he knows. Two of my fave vegans collabing I love it. 😍
get Jonathon's number damn
Yes I love Joseph Lincoln!!
who else pause's to read the menu lmao
Jenny Mix me! 😂
Dude your personality is my favorite thing ever!!
Actually NYC has some of the best tap water in the country 🤷🏻♀️
well shit
Yea I was going to say the same thing lol. They spend a lot of money protecting their water supply and it taste really good!
environmental fun fact! new york city drinking water is actually known worldwide as some of the cleanest water (: we get our water from protected upstate reservoirs lol that's why it tastes so amazing
That’s true about the New York City water, because it’s from a pristine reservoir upstate New York, but it depends what pipes the water flows through… If the pipes are old or have heavy metals, then that ruins the water quality.
Best tasting water. We get excited every time we visit because we get to drink the water. Lol
The card made me cry reading....what a true loving and beautiful spirit to be around💕
I smiled through this entire video...I was so freaking happy to see you visit Nashville and visit the same places I’ve been!!’ So cool
I’m in a Lauren Toyota vlog whaaaat! Lol
YAAASSS!
I’m also surprised the pho place messed up considering there are a lot of vegetarian Vietnamese restaurants in the US (where there are VN communities) and even many vegetarian restaurants in Vietnam. (There’s also vegetarian fish sauce!)

omg enjoy it!!!
The note from your friend is so cute (especially the snickles part, haha)!
Loved seeing you in Philly, my hometown! 🙌🏼
looove living vicariously through you, Lauren lol. Congrats on all your success you are amazing and I love that you don't sugar coat shit lol
I have been waiting for this 'what I ate' video. Amazing as always! Congrats Lauren on such a successful book launch. You're an inspiration and literally embody the power of manifestation. xxxX keep shining
Give Lauren a vegan “You Gotta Eat Here” and I’d watch it every day. You find such cool stuff!
Did anyone else think the French toast at blossom was vegan sausage at first?
Yaaaassss flirt with that waiter Lauren hahah 😝
OMGG Lauren just open a cafe/ restaurant already hahahaha
wouldn't that be amazing?!
Omgg yess the vegan scones from Whole Foods are so good!!
I KNOW!
Your travel vegan food blogs are my FAVES. :D
My dad is from Philly and V Street is one of the best veg restaurants in the city!
Thanks to Josef I am subscriber. I love the friendship. I can’t wait to try the restaurant in NYC.
Janita Thomas thanks for coming over!
Omg you came to Nashville! I live like 30 mins south of Nashville and I'm way too lazy to go all the way to East Nashville to eat... Traffic is horrible! 😭 you should've tried Succulent Vegan Tacos they have amazing authentic Mexican food! But they are only open certain days at the Nashville Fairgrounds...
ok next time!
Traditionally, dim sum’s usually a morning/brunch type of food, which probably explains why there aren’t many that are open late.
Lauren making my week 👍😌
Made your apple fritters last weekend 😋 gonna make cinnamon rolls next 😀
The perils of being vegan and eating in an omni establishment. It will never be prepared vegan, or 100% cooked without cross contamination. We need more vegan only restaurants!!! Your giggles awesome!

You gotta try Yoga-urt the next time you’re in LA. Delicious vegan soft serve. It’s in Glendale. You’ll love it!
That's where I stayed when I went to NY! Pretty miserable rooms but I loved the location!
ya I wouldn't go back

I'm not sure if it's the case in America, but Coyo yoghurt products have been recalled because they contained undeclared milk ingredients in the UK...
Ahhh. You went to the tasty! I live in south philly. That cute little place is fooled from the outside! They have amazing food! Highly suggest if you live in philly.
Omg you're with Joseph!!!!! I died!!! I love this video and you!!!!
I love your old music at the beginning! Thanks for sharing this
‘Hope I don’t have to become a fodmap person’ 😂 just so you know, you can have a quarter cup of well rinsed tinned chickpeas per meal on the low fodmap diet 😜 love ya Lauren 😘
Ohh so is The Tasty!! You’re going to all of my favorite places.
So glad you loved V Street. The owners of that restaurant also own Wiz Kid and Vedge. If you’re feeling like a fancy dinner 10/10 would recommend Vedge. The complex flavors they achieve in their dishes just blow my mind.
17:28 that synchronicity with the guy on the back tho
Ahh I went to an all-vegan dimsum place in Chinatown New York, and their dim sum was amazing!! Their fried taro dumplings were to die for. It's called Buddha Bodai and it was on Mulberry St. There's 2 with the same name lol, but they're not affiliated with each other.
yesss you went to blossom du jour, my favorite vegan restaurant of all time 😩 i miss it so much
FYI next time your in Philly, I recc.
Vegetarian Dim Sum House is freakin delish! I had my wedding there!
NYC has the best tap water ever! Tastes amazing. Heads up next time you’re there you don’t have to buy a 5$ hotel water.
Next time you're in Vancouver, Sun Bo Kong has amazing vegan dim sum. I was never a dim sum fan before going vegan but Sun Bo Kong changed that. Make sure to order the BBQ pork buns and taro dumplings.
those kimchi spring rolls... i could have them every-single-day omg
these are the best videos on youtube you are so cool
Loved the random shot of the puppy :D
I'm from Nashville and I cried when I saw you didn't go to Sunflower Cafe. It's the only thing I miss about nashville
I enjoyed the Vegetarian Dim Sum place in NYC but I guess it does depend on what you order :)
LAUREN TOYOTA AND JOSEF LINCOLN?! I FUCKING LOVE IT!
Next time try Buddha Bodai in Chinatown NYC - amaaaaaaaazing vegan dim sum!!!!
AAH OK! noted :D
I looked on their menu, are the items with “veg” the vegan items? Because the only things I see marked as “vegan “ are their sushi. I’m going to nyc soon and I’d love to try this place but I want to be sure which items are vegan cx
As far as I know the location on mulberry in Chinatown is all vegan, tons of options!
Jonathan is really cute though👀
Vegan dad with vegan sis! 🙏😍❤️
(But I love the dim sum place near me)
in Colorado Whole Foods has a vegan chocolate cranberry almond scone it is so good
Like before watch becoz Lauren always makes the best video!
Chickpeas give me digestion issues...💨💨 But I eat them anyway. 😆
Can you do a video where you recreate Disneyland snacks but vegan?
I’m going to Nashville in June and this is so helpful lol thanks!
omg lauren, chickpeas have been making me soo gassy lately. like out of nowhere they started to do that to me it's so weird. won't stop eating them though hehehe
It does the same to me too! Hummus usually doesn't cause it for me, but if I have them whole in a salad or roasted as a snack it gives me the weirdest stomach ache.
Why are none of my waiters ever a Jonathan Lind???
The original Buddha bodai vegetarian dim sum place is the best to go to!
Is it terrible that I don’t look for vitamin d in foods that I buy? I check for the main things, meat, eggs, dairy, and gelatin. I don’t bother with the vitamins. Maybe that’s bad of me but I wouldn’t be able to eat anything if I did that! And hey I’m doing more than most people!
ccap3211 I agree. We do what we reasonably can to cause the least amount of harm.
New York has the literal best water. I wouldn't drink from the hotel, either. But the water is 👌🏻
Blossom is the bomb!!!
Like actually were you disappointed when every meal you bought?
Will the nooch god shirt come back at some point in the near future? 😍
yes they will be! I'm sorting out new merch options for 2019!

Wow that’s so nice of the ice cream place
Can't wait to buy the book!

NYC tap water is actually really clean
I live for these videos. ❤️ And I have the same issue with chickpeas :(
Natalie has such rad style! That hat.
love that hat!
“It tastes healthy, so that’s.. maybe good... ?”
My life.
Buddha Bodai on Mulberry is the best (vegan) dim sum ever! I go every single time I'm in NYC - check it out next time! :)
I looked on their menu, are the items with “veg” the vegan items? Because the only things I see marked as “vegan “ are their sushi. I’m going to nyc soon and I’d love to try this place but I want to be sure which items are vegan cx

Josef is sooo cute!!
Your black jacket/coat is my dream!
NYC tap water is amazing though
Why didn't you tour Canada first?

still can't believe you didn't get to go to champ's diner in brooklyn 😪💔
i have been but never vlogged it... it was pre vlog!
you should totally have your own vegan diners drive ins and dives
i just did a vegan oops. I had some cookies crackers and I though they were vegan and they had wheat and milk in them and I had about 8.
