Savage!! The dmo videos was mental
Ur crazy
Change channel name to officially pissed
Did a great job cleaning it 👏
The rs5 has a sequence to launch without lurching!!..
step 1: all traction control off completely..
Step 2: gearbox in drive and flick across to manual mode...
step 3: step the break and accelerator and away you go!!
No lurching bro!!
Hope this helps
If only all mechanics were like this dude.
I wish...
The world be a better place lol
Hopefully he gets new customers off the back of these videos
Totaly, props to that mechanic
Stock engine is ok, a this have uprade for bigger power, gearbox no upgrade....

@MunroM84 assuming he bought a half decent one have u heard of an engine rebuild that costs 35k? 😂😂
@Steven Sbinnala tommy turbo is running 1050 hp stock with no bending, its like any engine some fail some dont.
Jamie by far the most positive person I've ever seen..smiles all round no matter the problem..we need more like you in this world right now brother x
Honestly dude keeps me going.
I very much look forward to them
As soon as me and the Mrs heard that sound at the start we both knew what it was,the EXACT same thing happened to our Mitsubishi Evo X a few weeks back.
Not sure if you did it but there noise is even worse when you put it in drive and then gave it some revs.
Lucky enough we had a new AMG A45s on order that turned up shortly after.
Good news is that i pick the Evo back up this week 😁
Show off!😋🤣🤣
I really felt it when you were sitting in the RS5 with it in drive with that grinding noise as if it was my own car.. it's the not knowing what the problem is.. the cost involved in putting it right.. etc etc.. But beyond every cloud there's a Silver lining.. and I'm happy and I'm sure your fans are too that you're back in business.. looking forward for the next video..
can we all take a moment to appreciate the 2 parts in 1 vid!!
Thank you for not making this a 20 part UA-cam series with 10 ads per video. Glad you got the car sorted.
One of the best most informative episode you've done, loved learning how the internals of the gearbox worked... at your expense though. Glad you got it sorted cheap-ish👍
You took this well, when the big end bearings went on my Subaru I felt the like the car betrayed me and sold it when it was fixed lol
Don't worry, he will sell it within the next few weeks.

Your positivity is infectious it always seems honest and not just for the camera. I'm glad it worked out for less than 13k and you can get back to making content!
Your gonna be nervous now launching that thing. Just gonna have to adjust a bit going forward 👍🏴
I praise myself happy to know a mechanic like that too here in Belgium (BHT performance). Honest, to the point and won't rip you off like a normal dealer. People who are actually trying to help you as opposed to just try to bill you to the max because they cba to make a proper analysis are gold!
Such a great partnership between you and Ben. BTW stay positive, this is just part of the journey and actually makes for great honest content!
Sorry to hear bro but as we all know it’s pay to play, having a new car warranty is amazing, but the mod bug gets us all!

Bro im so glad you got your beast back up and running and I've said this before cant wait to see the next upgrade you do 👍🏽💪🏽
you can set up a transbrake feature onto it like you have on the dodge demon
where you engage first and reverse at the same time to launch quicker and more consistently without touching the brakes
Kris Nicholson thanks for explanation. I have a b7 Quattro 2.0t se manual Standard spec 127k on clock only major at 90k was oil chain pump failure that cost me thousands to fix.
Kris Nicholson 😎
Kris Nicholson this audi will be my last ever Audi best car I’ve ever driven but a *money pit* for sure not for the faint hearted. Japanese reliability future car for me.
It's what happens when we tune . And the best part is finding the problem and understanding the what, when and why. Glad ya got back on the rd bud and loving the 2 part in one as I couldn't wait 3 weeks of speculation lol
I've seen so many cars break on launch, glad it all worked out for you in the end, keep up the great content!
Thank you for indepth video on what happened and explaining why it happened, it's really educational. Thank you for the content.
Sorry to hear man it's a absolutely shit feeling when something happens like this ..your not making that much more then stock that shouldn't be happening and on such a new car ...I had something happen to my daily vw caddy mapped obviously not a a rs like yours 😂 but the pin rod literally went through the gearbox . New box was 2500 but got a recon for 800.... My opinion I think the gearboxs are just week .. could be same on audis ...sucks tho man.. glad you got it sorted ...good mate u have there
So sorry to hear about this...
On a more positive note, your editing is on another level🔥🙌
I'm glad you did the video in the format you did! Onwards and upwards!
Awesome informative video, 👌 so does this mean that s3’s and anything with the dual clutch box are safer to launch as they aren’t under as much pressure ? I launched my s3 the other day and it told me the gearbox was over heating so I stopped straight away, i don’t think I fully turned off esp tho
Ahh man thats proper sucks.....my guess is Diff, the vid with the quick shifts and all that power has to stress the hell outta the drivetrain
You’re probably right, tuned RS6s had a lot of diff issues
i bet it has something to do with either transmission or haldex
A diff won't be 13k loool
and when dealing with the official audi dealership you will pay way more than it is actually worth...ive been servicing my car for last 11 years in the dealership it has cost me around 400 euros every service...since ive decided to keep my 2008 a4 b8 for a project ive done oil and all filters at my friends garage it has cost me around 100 euros...also found out they stole my k&n air filter altough i specifically told them not to exchange air filter and they have put in normal filter instead...(before anyone starts questioning why did i go to audi dealership to do service i did it because when i tought of selling the car its way easier to sell it when you changed every single bolt and done every single oil/filter change at official dealership...
@@player30gaming96 not haldex on that car
So basically don’t launch a car like it has launch control when in fact, it doesn’t have launch control🤣
Now wheres the fun in that😂
Launching any car is gonna put the most load and strain on the drivetrain
Exactly
@@KasamS driving any car remotely spirited is putting more strain on lots of components so by that logic never have any fun in any car lol
@@KasamS Especially in a quattro. All that grip is putting huge strain on the drivetrain, haldex and everything in between. This guy has zero mechanical sympathy for his cars and it's no wonder they keep breaking haha
Explanation and technical stuff directly from a professional is great stuff!
Glad you got it fixed and saved you some money. Great technician, come across really well.
The wait is killing me 😂
Putting so much extra power through OEM parts, there's always going to be a weak link.
@@1Dustin power levels were over 9 thousand.
nothing to do with extra power through OEM parts, it's purely mechanical and happens to stock cars.
Will be interesting to see how Ricky's m5 holds up pushing 1000+

I’m on engine no3 on my Saab 93 Z19DTH. First engine popped piston head 1 after 136,000 miles with the last 60,000 of those with a stage 2 remap to 223BHP. Turned out the person who mapped it with their own Zafira map, set it to demand 550 millibars of boost and 610NM from idle. Madness! Engine no2 lasted 2500 miles - not from driving it hard, but a bolt or washer must have dropped in to the engine during transplant and worked its way to a cylendar and smashed about in there. Engine no3 went in 2 weeks ago and I’ve had it custom rolling road mapped to 196bhp with progressive boost and 440NM. Much better. Much smoother.
Hey OG. It sucks that the diff tried eating itself. Been looking forward to a drive video in the RS4 at its current tuning stage. Happy it's fixed.
As l said before Jamie you went past me coming out of Littlehampton on your way home l guess. The car sounded and looked sick bro 👍🏿 !

Fair play for getting it sorted and keeping a good attitude about it all. Glad you got sorted!
"but we're still gonna send it" 😂😂😂
I never realy launch my car ... and this is why
Damn right as good as modern cars are they break just like older stuff and the bills are usually stupidly high. Launching a car is pretty much putting the maximum stress on it hence why shit snaps/ breaks.
Same here never have
I've launched my Golf R a few times but tend not to. But as Ben said in this video - DCT boxes don't engage until you lift off the brake, unlike torque converters.
Me too i never launched my Opel corsa
1998 lol
Launched mine about 50 times this year lol draggy fun.. no issues at all and very fun hitting 60 in 3 seconds
Thanx for the video, i have learnt something with these torque converter car, we own a f90 M5 with a torque converter thus this is a lesson.
You dealt with this well mate!
Positivity will get you through 👊🏻
I remember having a gearbox failure on my E92 M3, similar sort of noise. The Internet said they were bullet proof! I did the same as you and got lucky with an ebay find! I was so lucky it wasn't the engine though as those things aren't cheap.
Don’t launch a car that doesn’t have launch control, simple really.
Is it much safer when it has launch control? Or still risky?
@@jb3274 Definitely a lot safer, though launching too much can increase wear on the clutch significantly.
@@designanddevelop585 but i would expect a clutch to go bad and a torque converter cant really break right? A clutch job can cost like 2-3 grand
Lol you don't think an RS 5 has launch control? All new Audis do lol

Great advice from the your mechanic, blew up a gear box on Hybrid Starlet EP82. 1k rebuild 10 years ago.

hard launches, stupid gear changes on most cars can break, something 😂
🤞 the STI wagon holds on for another 90k miles
Jamie , i feel sorry for you and that is why i will be putting this video on replay for the next 48hours so i can help you make back some of the money you just spent !!
😂😂😂🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
🤣
genius
Sounds like the diff, or drive shafts. Also re the warranty they have to prove the tune caused it so fight it till the death.
you only get a few launches covered under warranty (stupid i know) they would only have to look in the gearbox measured values and laugh at you
MrBluewaffles yeh the old m5 used to be like that on the v10 think it was like 4-5 launches
2 launches but his does t have launch control so wouldn't store any info on ecu
Why fight, just pay and get it fixed. It’s clearly the extra power...*that’s the problem with society today, it’s always someone else’s problem. Great to see someone taking responsibility*
S WB i never said it’s anyone else’s problem, but cars have warranties for a reason. Yes if it’s completely stripped out and a race car I get it. However if you can at least get a contribution why not try.
Man like Jamie just snapping shafts! Glad you sorted them quick time tho.

Would you recommend littco turbos on a m3 and how much different does the car feel after the hybrids .
the amount of people I know with audis who have had 10k+ repair bills is too many ...that German engineering
All AWD cars are a ballache to work on not just Audi's. And newer German cars are nowhere near as easy to work on as the older ones.
MasterV if it was the best. Then pushing it too hard shouldn’t matter. They just do a good job for the car in stock form. Obviously not the best.
scotty kilmer has entered the chat
YES Audi uses standard model parts in the RS models, when manufacturers cost cut like that, they want you to have warranty.
He pushed the car too hard of he left it in a factory condition this wouldn't have happened but he modified the engine and exhaust and left the gearbox stock so his own fault
Noooooooo damn it😕🤯

Great content as usual Jamie!!!! Glad your man at devil found a reasonable fix. Do you have an APR tune on it? I just got one on mine and it removes the limiter that keeps these cars with the keyless startup from actuating . It's a safety thing. But APR removes that and I actually for the first time tried it lastnight and I guess they didn't turn that in for me when setting up the tune.. soooo what I'm seeing here is don't try it? Just curious to know if you tried it with an APR tune with the removal of the safety ? Thx mate..

Never good when a new car goes bad! I recall a BMW dealer tell me that if I were ever to buy a new car with launch control, get the dealer to print off the sheet indicating how many Launch Controls have taken place, it’s all recorded! This was at the time of the E46 M3 SMG. Ever since I have often wondered about these DSG or DCT systems and would never choose one over a manual despite the advantages. Good Luck with all that you do to the car.
Something similar happened to my F10 M5, although I never launched. I had a leaking DCT box, never knew it was leaking, got hot temperature warning which I thought was the clutch needing replacing as advised by mechanic. After opened up, told it was missing 3 litres out of 9, destroyed my transmission and clutch and flywheel, had to buy a used flywheel, transmission which I found ebay 27k miles, one same as you otherwise would have been huge if buying new. Upgraded clutch and finally got her working agai!
Try warranty claim :)
Hes tuned it or something I think it woids it not sure
Audi’s.... same thing with Nicks RS6 - same thing with Calvins RS6 - same thing with your RS5..... It’ll happen again!
glad its fixed up now for you. whats your links to littlehampton? i live here and had to double take when you mentioned it lol. need my car detailing too!
I've broken on my rs3 2 diffs, first front, week after the rear one without launching, only harsher driving.
Is there any "stronger" diff that can be put on the rs3 or something?

Yes but still very interesting to learn about the fails in tuning cars as well. 👍 up to your honesty.
Did you get "the Wizard" are wicked bottle? I'd of got him a nice Cognac. Expensive. Mellow. Smooth. Glad it worked out for you. Is this car under warranty? If it is, that's done. If the car was an older model, reckon you'd of had a better result. Not sure the history, but you done the air intake? And what turbo have you ordered? Interested to know. Slick ride though. You gonna get door lights that have say "Audi Sport" when you open the door or is something like that done already?
There are no aftermarket drivetrain components to strengthen the differential?
