Nice work, I have a ‘15 as well (golf sportwagen), so same engine - looking to do mine soon ! I agree you need to have a good euro mechanic, the VW dealer usually quotes $2k for this in 2024 fyi
I had a 2015 TDI. I did my belts at 125k and 250k almost made it to 375k service but I totaled it on the Interstate on my way home from work back in 2021. Original Clutch and Turbo. 50+ mpg on the highway. Never gave me a problem. I just did all the maintenance according to VW specs(as best I could). VW are excellent cars, but you MUST do your maintenance
Agree 100%. People asks me if I like my 2015 tdi, I say I love it. Zero issues from it. They ask if they should buy one. I ask do you wanna change the trans oil every 40,000mi? Engine oil 7500mi? Timing belt every 90,000mi? Fuel filter every 20,000? If you can do all those things buy it and you’ll have a 200,000 mi car easy.
Thanks! It depends on whether you have someone that’s good to work with it. I have a 2013 and have had no trouble with it and it has 160,000 miles. They are usually a pretty reliable car but can be very expensive to work on if it has to go to the dealer
@hrdiesel Thank you for the response! I'm an ex mechanic. The car has 85k on it, and a decent amount of time per emissions extended warranty, which eases my mind.✌️
Here is a link to the kit I used

Yep, totally agree! My VW has 161,000 miles and I have had little to no trouble with it

you got insanely lucky with the clutch lol the dmf probably seized it self into one piece
Should you do the oil pump wet belt too while you there?
120,000 🤔
Yeah, it definitely wouldn’t hurt.
nice video, im confused did you do this without dropping the engine ?
Yes, I usually hold the engine up with the engine hoist. Then I remove the front motor mount and just work around everything
Great video! Would you recommend a 2015 passat tdi in 2024?

@@Rusty-Shackleford69 VW put an extended warranty until at least 130,000 miles on the diesel! It sounds like a good deal
@@hrdiesel Thank you! I'm supposed to travel ~700 miles to inspect/purchase this coming week if it is what is represented.✌️
@@Rusty-Shackleford69 any update?
